PoliticsVp Osinbajo Unveils Nigeria’s First Coconut Oil Factory, Friday by Emelcee(op): 1:28pm On May 12, 2022
All is now set for the commissioning of the St. Gabriel Coconut Refinery sited Mkpat Enin,Akwa Ibom State, following the successful test running of the factory.

The multi-billion naira value-chain facility which would create thousands of job opportunities for Akwa Ibom people will be inaugurated on Friday by the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo,SAN following its completion by the Turkish firm, VKS.

The factory is expected to employ over 3000 direct workers and has the capacity to crack 1,000,000 nuts a day.

The St. Gabriel’s Coconut Oil Factory Project, a major industrial investment by Akwa Ibom State Government comprises a factory complex complete with administrative offices, production areas, technical spaces, industrial firefighting systems, water treatment plants, effluent treatment plants, and residential quarters for technical and managerial staff as well as parking areas for several raw materials bearing vehicles.

The project is located in the serene environment of Ikot Akpan Okop village, along the East-West Road in Mkpat Enin Local Government Area. The project execution was flagged off by Governor Udom Emmanuel during a ground-breaking ceremony on May 24th, 2017.

Recall that a whooping 2million fast yielding hybrid coconut trees had been planted on an 11,000 hectare of land at the St Gabriel plantation in a swampland spanning Mkpat Enin, Ikot Abasi, and Eastern Obolo Local Government Areas. Similarly, the Government has ensured that coconuts are cultivated at Okobo, Okon -Eket, and other locations in the State.

This makes it the largest coconut plantation in Africa, and the most ambitious coconut project in the world. All this is a conscious effort by the visionary leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel to prepare Akwa Ibom State, which is Nigeria's highest crude oil-producing State from over-reliance on petroleum.

Politics2023 Desperation: Guber Aspirant Entices Delegates With Fake Empowerment Forms by Emelcee(op): 10:36am On Mar 25, 2022
In a desperate attempt to become a Governor by all means, Obong Bassey Akpan (OBA) has deployed a corrupt approach of enticing statutory delegates with impracticable promises and fake empowerments.

One of the delegates who did not want his name in print, hinted this reporter that OBA, in a secret meeting with the statutory delegates, had distributed forms to them, asking them to write their names and phone numbers, and also indicate the nature of empowerment they expect from him, in order to lure them into voting for his governorship ambition during the Party Primaries.

According to our source, OBA who is currently the Senator representing Akwa Ibom South Senatorial District at the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, asked them to fill the form indicating whether they want to be enticed with cash, cars or other gifts items, as he is all out to do anything to become the governor come 2023.

Our sources intimated that the decision to getting delegates fill forms was taken after due consideration that the act of administering fetish oath ( mbiam) to delegates as a way of showing committment to OBA's project could boomerang with adverse consequences.

Our sources informed that not less two person who had earlier taken Mbiam to support OBA but latter reneged have died while have had their bodies deformed.

One of the delegates who attended the recent meeting in one of villages outside Uyo capital city said he was surprised at OBA's desperation inspite of his acclaimed popularity.

According to him " when they gave us the form, I was imagining where he is going to keep them when primaries is yet to take place and even if we were to follow what is written in the form, when will he start fulfilling those promises. I think OBA is a con man to think he can con all the delegates with fake empowerment promise. If he is that popular, he should just go the field and test his popularity."

It could be recalled that OBA in his utteramces, recently boasted that nobody has the capacity to challenge him in the forthcoming governorship election, as he referred to the people as dogs, querrying who born them.

PoliticsAkwa Ibom Guber: Plot To Smear Gov Udom Emmanuel Activated By The Opposition by Emelcee(op): 3:13pm On Mar 23, 2022
Spurned Guber Aspirant Fingered

A well-oiled campaign of calumny against the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel, has been activated, with millions of naira already released.

A source in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital, who is privy to the plot disclosed to our reporter today, that the a top journalist of Akwa Ibom extraction, who is based in Lagos, has been engaged to execute the task.

The source said; “Three weeks ago, we alerted the people of Akwa Ibom State and Nigerians to a well-oiled and financed campaign of blackmail and vile propaganda aimed at demonizing and tarnishing the image of Governor Udom Emmanuel and his administration.

“We had also revealed that the campaign was being financed by a governorship aspirant, who is still reeling with anger over his rejection as the preferred candidate by Governor Udom Emmanuel.

“We had told the world then, that he had employed the services of a top journalist of Akwa Ibom extraction, who is based in Lagos, to execute this evil and vile task.
The top journalist has commenced the assignment he was hired to do, and has on his own, recruited another popular journalist from Akwa Ibom State, who is also based in Lagos, to be the coordinating agent or the arrowhead of the evil campaign.

“The journalist has commenced his evil task, and working with other disgruntled elements, has started trolling and combing for any document they can use in their campaign of calumny and blackmail. It does not matter to them if such a document they claim to show lack of transparency, lacks such scrutiny, their charge appears to be to look for anything, just anything with a smell or scintilla of incongruity, and then run wild with their smear campaign around such a document.”

According to another source, who is close to the sponsors of the smear campaign, the aggrieved gubernatorial aspirant is “so bitter and entitled that he has refused to be guided by reason and rationality. He is determined to manufacture lies against the governor. We have told him in one of our strategy sessions that the course of action he is embarking upon would be counter-productive, because Governor Emmanuel is a nationally respected for his integrity and transparency in governance. He seems totally occupied by anger and hatred.

"We have warned him that this campaign of lies and blackmail against the governor will backfire. In the next few days, there will be a deluge or rash of negative articles sponsored by the candidate. It is sad to say the least, but we are handicapped, because we have been paid to do this."

PoliticsAkwa Ibom Women Feeds Governor Emmanuel, As He Celebrates Women's Day by Emelcee(op): 3:31pm On Mar 15, 2022

GOVERNOR EMMANUEL CELEBRATES WOMEN'S DAY, PLEDGES TO ASSENT ALL BILLS ENHANCING THE RIGHTS OF WOMEN

Governor Udom Emmanuel has assured that all pending bills seeking to promote the rights of Akwa Ibom State women shall immediately be signed into law.

Addressing a large gathering of women during the grand finale of the 2022 International Women's Day celebration at Ibom Hall Grounds in Uyo, the Governor extolled the ingenuity of the state Ministry of Women Affairs, the Family Empowerment and Youth Reorientation Path (FEYReP) Initiative and the entire Akwa Ibom women on their determination and commitment to championing the cause of women in the State.

Reflecting on the theme of the 2022 International Women's Day, "Gender Equality for Sustainable Tomorrow", the State Governor maintained that, "I've just learnt that there are one or two women-related bills that I still need to sign into law. I have asked the Attorney-General that once I leave here they should bring those bills and I'm going to sign all of them".

"I also want to commend Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs) Martha Udom Emmanuel and her pet project FEYReP, for what they have done, they've made the whole country proud by the way the take care of the women. So I want to use this opportunity to thank most deeply, the great and inspirational work of my wife in reawakening the women through this programme".

On the agitation for 35% inclusion of women in government, the Governor assured that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has put in place a gender friendly template to promote the inclusion of women in the politics and that his administration will continue to create equal opportunity for women. These, he said, include 35% inclusion of women in the party executive across all structures of the party from units to the national and free nomination forms for any woman declaring intention to run for any office on the party’s platform.

Speaking further, Governor Emmanuel appealed to women in the state to pay equal attention to both male and female children in their motherly role, attributing the increase of vices in the society to neglect of the male child in the family especially in terms of vigilance and discipline, promising to pursue a review of the law exempting underage youths from prosecution especially for cases of murder and mayhem on fellows.

He also charged the women on continuous capacity building, self confidence and urged them never to be limited by external forces.

"Please don't limit yourself. You need to believe and be sure that all that you need is all that you have, then you will excel to wherever you want to", he said.

The governor condemned in totality any venture that promotes violence or antisocial tendencies. According to him, politics should be a game of persuasion and not violence hence no Akwa Ibom woman should allow herself to be lured into what is not in the interest of the people of the state.

In support of the empowerment packages for needy women in the state under the auspices of the First Lady Martha Emmanuel's pet project, FEReP, the governor announced additional donation of N62 million to be given to 10 women from each of the 31 Local Government Areas of the state, stressing that 5 from each local government area must be widows.

In her remarks, the wife of the governor, Dr. Mrs. Martha Emmanuel, expressed delight with the support and inclusion enjoyed by women under the administration of her husband, which she described as unprecedented.

Mrs Martha Emmanuel acknowledged that some obnoxious practices enshrined in the culture and traditions of the society have posed serious challenges to women development and create uneven playing against the female gender, in terms of access to opportunities. These, she stated are the barriers and biases Akwa Ibom women seek to break, soliciting the support of the state government in their eradication.

Earlier in the event, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Ini Adiakpan, in her welcome speech, hailed the goodwill of Governor Emmanuel in creating a template that protest gender equilibrium and maintaining a governance trajectory that closes the valley between the men and women.

She however pleaded with the governor to expedite action to sign into law the bill concerning persons with disabilities, bill for provision of free and compulsory medical treatment for victims of sexual abuses and other women-related bills already passed by the state legislators, but awaiting Executive assent as well as increase the chances of women in the upcoming National and State Assemblies elections.

Also speaking at the occasion were the Chief Judge of the state, Hon. Justice Ekaette Obot, Professor Valerie Solomon of the University of Uyo, the University of Uyo Chairperson of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, Dr. Happiness Uduk and a host of others.

PoliticsWhy We Need Umo Eno As Governor by Emelcee(op): 9:17am On Mar 11, 2022
Leadership is work, and Umo Eno is a workaholic. Those close to him can attest to the fact that he doesn't only give responsibility, he is always involved in the execution. Vince Lombardi once said that "Leaders aren't born; they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that's the price we'll have to pay to achieve that goal, or any goal". This perhaps explains why the business Umo Eno started with only 5 rooms gradually grew on the wheels of hardwork into a conglomerate of companies. Hard work pays.

Importing his virtue of hardwork into the governance of Akwa Ibom state will undoubtedly transform the state in an unprecedented measure in a very short time.

He assigns duties and monitors compliance. His leadership style is work when it is time to work, and play when it is time to play.

Again, leadership demands courage, and Umo Eno is a courageous man. Courage is different from arrogance and uncultured boldness. It is having the stamina to dare where others are scared of, and doing the right thing irrespective of who is against it. Mark Twain said " Courage is not absence of fear; it is control of fear, mastery of fear". Leaders ride through storms and fear, and achieve their goals, and Umo Eno is such a leader who is not scared of storms. Like the eagles, he rides on storms. The seat of governance is decorated with storms, and Umo Eno knows how to ride on storms.

Moreso, Umo Eno has a reputation for excellence. He has standard and character. The development of character is the greatest business of life. Brian Tracy observed that "Your ability to develop a reputation as a person of character and honour is the highest achievement of both business and social life". Leadership thrives on reputation. Leadership is equally driven by good character. Akwa Ibom needs his kind of person to drive in investors that will continue in the legacies of His Excellency, Gov. Udom Emmanuel.

These and more are the reasons why everyone should queue behind his aspiration. He is the best man for the job.

PoliticsA’ibom 2023:media Group Berates Sen.akpan’s Campaign Org. Over Alleged Blackmail by Emelcee(op): 8:44pm On Feb 21, 2022
A group of media professionals operating under the aegis of Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners Forum (USDMPF) has come hard on the Akwaubokabasi Campaign Organization working for the gubernatorial ambition of Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, accusing the group of using emotional blackmail antics to seek undeserved attention.

Senator Akpan’s Akwaubokabasi campaign group last week raised alarm in the media accusing agents of Akwa ibom state government and Peoples Democratic Party of threatening and intimidating her members and other delegates to the forthcoming elections in order to gain undue advantage over other aspirants in preference for Gov. Emmanuel’s choice.

However, USDMPF in a press statement endorsed by Pastor Michael Okon Head, Publicity & Strategic Communication

Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners Forum tagged:

“Facts And Fictions of Akwaubokabasi Campaign Organization's Allegation of Threat to Public Peace” dismissed the alleged threat and intimidation outcry as misleading and cheap blackmail.

According to the press statement. “Akwaubokabasi Campaign Organization, whose latest hoax is that agents of the Government of Akwa Ibom State and the Peoples Democratic Party are engaging the instrumentality of threat on delegates and members of the party to accord advantage to one of the aspirants does not deserve response from any intelligible mind, owing to its source, illogic and intent.

“The reason is that the source of a testimony determines to a large extent, it’s credibility and objectivity. However, to shield the innocent and vulnerable members of the public, who may not have the capacity to decipher truth from fiction, as typified in this outburst, we in Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners Forum consider it a moral obligation to set the records straight.

“First, the attempt by Akwaubokabasi Campaign Organization to hide behind the cover of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and that of the Peoples Democratic Party to masquerade the truth with mendacity and outright falsehood is cheap, blackmailing and to say the least, misleading. For instance, the allegation that party delegates are being threatened and stopped from associating with other aspirants in the party is not only unfounded, but cheap and blackmailing. Playing the victim is an emotional blackmail antics, used by the employer to seek undeserved attention- and in the process cause harm.

The media group asked if it’s not rational, logical and scientifically tenable to make generalizations without any tangible evidence.

“Who did they say was threatened, where, when and by who? In the era of information and communication technology, information is at the disposal of everyone through gadgets and methods such as voice recording and video conversations. Taking cognizance of the above line of argument, it’s safe to say that, the accuser is a victim of his jaundiced thought -process and of hallucinations”.

The group further highlighted, “These array of antics by Akwaubokabasi Campaign Organization cannot be not divorced from the series of threats on the Governor of Akwa Ibom State by imaginary militants to the effect that he should rescind his decision on his preferred successor. We at Uyo Senatorial District Media Practitioners Forum are hereby call on the Inspector General of Police to investigate this seemingly cult group which has elected to instigate mayhem in the state”.

USDMPF admonish members of the public to discountenance the falsehood propagated by the campaign organization stressing, “ It is our considered opinion that if the organization’s principal has the legitimacy it claims, he should be confident enough to test same at the party’s primaries, rather that dwell in a wild goose chase and conspiracy theories.

Speaking on Governor Udom Emmanuel’s succession agenda, they retorted, “it natural for human beings to have preferences, just as people have preference for certain food over others at certain times. It is therefore inimical to democratic norms and the process of democratic consolidation for Akwaubokabasi to attempt to subject people to the cocoon of their wishful expectations”.

They call on Akwa ibom people to continue to support the visionary leadership of Governor Udom Emmanuel and his succession agenda, in order to deepen the peace that the state has been enjoying since 2015.

•••Approves new welfare package for royal fathers

The Oku Ibom Ibibio and Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Etuk, has been sworn in as President General of the State Traditional Rulers Council, TRC.

This  follows the recent amendment of the Traditional Rulers Law 2020 by the state House of Assembly which provides for the Traditional Rulers Council to be headed by a President General in place of the previous office of Chairman State Council of Chiefs .

The colourful event held at the ultra- modernTraditional Rulers Council Chambers, Uyo, also witnessed the swearing-in of Edidem Offong Effiong Matthew Unanaowo and Edidem Etim Nnana Itang as Paramount Rulers for Urue Offong-Oruko and Ikono Local Government Areas respectively.

Administering oaths of Office and Allegiance on the new paramount rulers, the Governor explained that the review in the traditional rulers' laws was driven by the need for continuous improvement in the reformation of institutional structures and enhancement of leadership in line with global best practices.

"Laws are not amended because of a particular person in office. Laws are amended to suit best practices all over the world.

"Sometime ago we had to move the tenure of Chairmanship of our Council of Chiefs from one to two years.

"Today we have seen that we can also go further and make those two years renewable at the discretion of the governor so I really want to thank our paramount rulers first for their understanding, cooperation and support to make sure we keep improving.

"We are trying to make this institution a little more revered. It was extremely difficult for a chairman of just two years to be able to effect impactful policies or whatever he may have to do.

"So we have to put in practice things that are being done elsewhere to make things work well, so I'm happy that this is being done while consultations continue on other areas.

Governor Emmanuel who announced the upward review of welfare packages for traditional rulers in the state, explained that the increment became necessary given the current economic realities and in line with his resolve to add value to the revered institution.

He congratulated Ntenyin Solomon Etuk and the new paramount rulers on their elevation to the exalted offices, saying that their elevation places on them the responsibility of piloting affairs of the traditional institutions in the state.

Governor Emmanuel presented  staff of office as well as certificates of recognition to the paramount rulers, urging the President General to be fair to all by carrying everyone along in his administration for continued peace in the state and presented brand new official Prado Jeeps to the two royal fathers, saying he wanted them accorded their due respect.

In his acceptance speech, the newly sworn in President General of the State Traditional Rulers Council, Ntenyin Solomon Etuk expressed appreciation to Governor Emmanuel for finding him worthy to lead the traditional rulers in the state and assured of continued support to the state administration.

Earlier in his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Mr. Frank Archibong, lauded Governor Emmanuel's commitment to boosting the traditional institution by giving premium to its affairs, thereby ensuring that peace reign in all the domains.

He pointed out that the respect and honour accorded the royal fathers comes with huge responsibility and urged members of the institution to live up to the call.

Ntenyin Etuk assured the governor of continuous support from the traditional institution.

Prior to his emergence as President General in the new structure, Ntenyin Etuk had served as Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs since 2019.

The ongoing celebration of Akwa Ibom at 34, continues with the arrival of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Friday, to flag off the Dakkada Luxury Estate in Uyo and also commission the Dakkada Towers.

PoliticsAkanimo Udofia: The Prosperity Model That Will Judge Us Sane And Thoughtful by Emelcee(op): 12:20pm On Jul 27, 2021
- Akpan Jimmy

With the 2023 gubernatorial fever permeating further, the lead conversation has remained who will carry on with the task of leading Akwa Ibom State to the desired Eldorado, where we would have taken our rightful place in the comity of states designed to lead the nation's socioeconomic and political rebirth. Daunting but achievable if people think assuming political positions less a birthright than a call to service, as the former will ruin our chances at clearly marshalling out what ideas should guide our sojourn; conscious that by the expiration of the current administration, we would have between 1999-2023 passed through the hands of two consummate professionals and a flamboyant politician as Governors.

A time to do more than excuses, this clearly would be especially as our democracy can no longer be termed nascent. Whether for reflection or repentance, it time we considered what and who, going forward should carry our mandate, and show class dispassion to ideologies of personal benefits to help the state leverage on our collective resolve for better days. In stating the obvious, we have tasted a bite of different models of leadership and are ripe for a hybrid deal of settling for a fellow who fits perfectly in the bill of professionalism, politics and community spiritedness, which are values that present the Nsit Ibom born oil and gas maverick and CEO of Desicon Group, Mr. Akanimo Udofia ahead of the pack.

Having in line missed several such opportunities, it will be unexplainable walking the street of missed opportunities again at a time the rest of the world have defined hope as good governance and climes other than ours celebrating such advantage of being able to recognize eggheads in leadership. There may be arguments on who deserves the Hilltop sit, but nobody at this point can truly guarantee that our next pick will not be a joker, but with Akanimo Udofia resides several bright shades of an enviable future, gleaning from successes he has in the last over two decades achieved around the globe, even in terrains considered as unfamiliar and hostile.

Attempting a mention of his feat at the helm of affairs of the Desicon Group is a valid testimony to the degree of ingenuity that sits on his shoulders, having taken the over four decade firm in the last two decades to enviable heights of global reckoning. In discussing his successes with Desicon, note must be taken that a number of people adjudged as successful made their mark working on projects and establishments they were never conferred the highest managerial roles. Whether it is about the Engineering or oil and gas fronts, mediocrity has nothing on Udofia who is committed to meeting clients' needs through the most cost effective solutions; investing in the right minds for optimum results. Without delving into the thickness of his financial armour, Akanimo's Forbes listing and several reputable recognitions are no consolation for nothing; but medals of his depth, reach and touch on the global entrepreneurial turf.

The ability to run the venture afloat, hitting plausible milestones is an affirmation that he will do better if handed more responsibilities; no one has ever built materials without the corresponding ability to build people, this is where divinity puts him forward as Akwa Ibom's best bet. The ability to show empathy has never been so easy with businessmen, but for him, there are no holds barred with shading a piece of him to provide warmth for others. Little wonder how he has been able to carry on with fiscal responsibilities to his employers and even employing more at a time other competitors are laying off, to get reprieve from the prevailing inclement economic weather.

With less than two years to the 2023 elections, it is only Akan Udofia who has been able to marshal out what an idea of post Governor Udom Emmanuel governance should pattern after. Carefully leaning on his exposure and contact in the global market space, one has no doubt that the Desicon Boss will thoughtfully deploy all of his experiences to foster an economic base that will commensurate with citizens expectations across board. Truth be told, none of our socioeconomic challenges could be traced to him, but his stepping forward to the task of finding solutions goes beyond a heroic move to paint a future generations after us would not fail to appreciate.

With the current downward economic trend, Statista is projecting that Nigeria's inflation by 2023 will be pegged at around 12.5%, while the Federal Government has benchmarked crude oil at forty dollar per barrel in its Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy paper for 2021-2023. These figures in the light of worsening national security and recurrent political suspicion promise little or no bliss and reminds of the urgency of settling for a leader who is home with managing men and resources; a fellow with Udofia's velve and depth who will explore our boundless opportunities to keep us afloat if economic darkness ever threatens further.

Beyond oil, Akanimo understands ahead of time the prospects agriculture and tourism hold for Akwa Ibom and will invest more than a passing interest at getting the state take benefit from these global cash cow; a departure from the moon tales diversification our leaders have for far too long preached, without an iota of political will in getting to work. For this scion of Udofia's dynasty firing from all cylinders to get agriculture working goes beyond food sufficiency, to stringing together all the comparative value we can derive from our agricultural ventures so we just do not exist as a consuming economy.

Considering the advantages of having agrobase industries to process and add value to our agricultural product is a possibility that perfectly sits on his plans, he is about the most refined mind that can pull together key players in the global food processing space to invest in Akwa Ibom. This for our farmers will birth a huge relief and stretch the current administration's food policy beyond sufficiency to gainful storage and viability, so our farmers, like in other climes can enjoy the economic leap that is deserving of their efforts, while our state will be spared the shock of regional food cuts associated with local politics.

On tourism, he recently as a keynote speaker at a tourism stakeholders event proved his mettle as one who can develop a workable model in tourism appreciation to foster Akwa Ibom's chances at changing the national tourism outlook. Armed with the intrigues of advancing a narrative that will make the state a cynosure for the global community, Akan is set to get the ball rolling. This he expressed in parts of his speech when he said "If I were just to mention a few of the unique qualities of tourism that excites me, first would be tourism's high human and social development premium, especially catering for lower income earners, while the promotion of a vibrant, dynamic, and competitive economy that allows everyone equal opportunity will follow".

The Desicon Boss will emerge as the strongest unifying factor in Akwa ibom's political firmament, as he currently enjoys massive support, patronage and following across every political strata of the state. Given the PDP ticket he will scale up the party's political fortune as he would sweat the party a lot less getting the needed popular support. More to his massive acceptance, it is common knowledge that in a political space where people barely get expressive, it is only Akanimo who has summed sufficient courage to put forward a foot for the Akwa Ibom plum job. This courage better defines capacity and readiness; pointing him as one who is mentally, morally, politically and economically ready for the deal, instead of join the band wagon of those still looking up to possible endorsement by some power circles.

Make no mistake about his resolve, 2023 politics with Akan Udofia has been more deliberate and definitive, going ahead of others to marshal out strategies and political structures while others have turned political aspiration to mathematical equations, where "x" the unknown variable must always be found. Unlike in mathematics, no succession deal without a workable manifesto should deserve the peoples attention, as we must roundly reject sacred cows in all forms and colours, if Akwa Ibom must be free from old chains. It will not be an easy push, but no sacrifice will be too much if we must build a society our children will be spared the wrath of our misadventure and greed.

Loyalty is no commodity found among cheap people, Akan has been tested on loyalty and proven fit as fiddle. On the line of business, friendship, politics and family, he has proven himself a loyal member of every circle he finds himself; as there is actually more loyalty to pay in the global business space where ingenuity, integrity and character does the game. A bankable virtue, Udofia's loyalty is also palpable in the way he relates with family, friends and people who cannot reward his good deeds. In leadership he will definitely show the people all the loyalty a Governor should give, this would birth an era of mutual trust and shared prosperity.

In conclusion, mentioning his numerous infrastructural and social interventions would have better revealed the heart in the man, but the list will not only be endless, but would have betrayed the anonymity behind most of these interventions. Howbeit, there will be no harm in mentioning an event of the recent past, where a young job seeker, Iniubong Umoren was murdered; the rage, anger and rhetoric that followed is still fresh. It is worthy to conclude that till date Akanimo Udofia who offered a job to one of Iniubong's sibling at Desicon Engineering, remains the only practical effort any politician or businessman made at extending succor to the family in their moment of grief; which has been widely celebrated, heralded and commended.

We have but this chance to get it all right; Akanimo Udofia is capable of opening our state to endless opportunities that will hand the citizenry a leadership that is both rewarding and consoling, if we will allow good conscience and patriotism guide our hearts to support the Akwa Ibom Prosperity Movement.

The Akwa Ibom State Government has directed the Akwa Ibom State University to immediately recall Iniobong Ekpo, a student expelled for allegedly insulting the Governor Udom Emmanuel on the social media.

The decision follows the review of a report submitted to the State Executive Council by the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet who chaired the panel to review the circumstances leading to the said student’s expulsion.

The Special Committee which was given two weeks for facts finding on the expulsion, had interviewed the embattled student as well as principal staff of the University.

Although the details of its recommendations were not made public, Governor Udom Emmanuel who has repeatedly showed his passion in educational advancement and human capital development programmes for young people in the state, immediately ordered that the student be allowed back on campus by the University to continue his studies.

Governor Emmanuel also announced that the Ikot Oku Ikono flyover project is ready and will be commissioned on July 16, 2021 by noon.

Briefing journalists on the outcome of the meeting, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Mr Ini Ememobong said August 21, 2021 has been approved as the state coconut day, when 300,000 nuts will be planted to boost coconut production in preparation for the start of operations of the State owned coconut oil refinery at Mkpat Enin.
