First, the person that told you never used Xiaomi before. That person is a concentrated Samsung fan boy and I can easily guess who.

1. Xiaomi have camera. Camera better than what any midrange samsung can offer. Gcam is meant to complement it. If you want to explore more about the camera, gcam will come in handy.

2. Due to EU law, newly launched phones within the EU (including African markets) don't come with call recorder on stock dialers anymore. This affects all brands including the almighty Samsung. Although, Google is looking for a way to implement it on their Google dialer. Xiaomi on the other hand promised to return it. Xiaomi devices launched in 2019 have call recorders on their dialers.

3. An average Xiaomi phone have better resale value than Samsung. Especially when it comes to midrange Xiaomi device.

4. My Xiaomi device gives me prestige. I don't allow the fact that I don't use Samsung or iPhone make me feel lowly. Feeling lowly because of that is on you o.

The way una dey hype this brand sef. Una come dey make them dey add unjustified plenty money to newer product.
I dey use one now sef and u are here comparing cams. The 48mp I have here bad. My s7 edge cam of many years ago beat am hands down. I don't understand why una turn here to Xiaomi worship centres instead of telling the-would-be users that the only advantage against other smart mid rangers is just the price.

Nobody wants to tell you that your phone doesn't and cannot use G-cam because
1. Your phone's chipset is outdated, your phone maker (TECNO) are fond of using outdated chipset, chipset that have reigned and died
2. You need to enable your camera2api, the camera2api comes with the chipset, I.e if the chipset supports it, luckily some tecno phones supports it
3. The main reason why u cant get gcam on tecno phones is that each gcam is made for a specific phone, gcam made for redmi note 7 can't work on redmi note 8 or Samsung a50 they are developed for each phone, and sadly tecno (transsion) phones don't have gcam ported for them, developers mostly create gcam for well recognized phones with recent and powerful chipset, you can't build the best skyscraper in the village na, it doesn't fit

Outdated chipset you say? I don't agree with that. The only reasonable opinion I agree with is Tecno phones not having developers who can port gcam to recent Tecno phones. And mind you, where Tecno phones are mostly used are third world countries whose users only need just the basic features of mobile

these steps worked for me, as ryt now am enjoying my Gcam

First of foremost download the Gcam app

Install the Gcam app on your device

Turn your phone off, then On it


Unlock the phone

Go to settings

Scroll down to data and storage

Click on erase

Then switch off the tekino phone

Turn it own On again

Go to your chrome browser and type jiji o. The search bar

Sell the phone there

Add money and buy a xiaomi phone, download,

install and use your wonderful Gcam.

Like there's something special about this Xiaomi you'll are hyping. Enjoyed my first mi 8 but then, regretted ever investing in note 7 and note 8. Don't know why you guys enjoy hyping a particular product or you are paid to spread this information.

Downloaded the gcam on both note 7 and 8, change settings and tweak the gcam yet the picture isn't any better to my old Samsung s7 edge. The picture taken with gcam on s7 edge is even better than the pics on those 2 phones.

Lesson learnt : Don't follow the crowd

I will vote for based on his track records and his management dexterity.

I hope he continues to create public awareness on his inherent innate qualities to deliver good governance to Ndi Anambra.

Did you boot into recovery immediately after flashing or you restarted your phone?

The first time, I did via the CMD fastboot command. It just rebooted instead of showing me the twrp recovery mode.

I did the second time by holding the volumeup + power button and releasing them after seeing the redmi logo. The phone just showed me a black locked page to input my password.


Anything I missed during flashing process or during the booting to recovery?

Can someone guide me on how to root redmi note 7 running on miui 11 global rom and unlocked.

I tried it but after flashing image recovery image and booting to recovery, the phone locks me out until I factory reset it and connect the phone via hotspot to unlock it with my mi password.

To be candid, OnlineAlaba was someone that made me trust some sellers on this platform. I have bought countless things from sellers here on Nairaland because OnlineAlaba delivered as promise and the products worked as advertised except for the AC.

The Samsung TV is rugged. It withstood everything I have thrown at it without blinking. The TV has given me joy within that range.

The AC? I am not sure. I have not enjoyed anything on that AC since I bought it. but I never complained online here because the TV is giving me what I need for now and for the distance too. I won't advice my enemy to go for a second hand AC from my experience. It's a dead end! New AC is even cheaper now.

During my saga, he always speak my call, but I got tired of it all. Address the issue with him, come up with solution. I believe there must be a solution; you are even within the same Lagos.
