finestboy1:You don't need IELTS or Naric. Your UK degree is sufficient. Just submit a copy of your certificate with your application. |
bakol:Okay. I really don't have experience with this sort of situation and I don't know anyone that it has happened to. Don't want to alarm anyone so I think best thing would to still try and contact UKVI. Since the Visa was issued it shouldn't be a problem if the person in question need to fly out to start work (my opinion). They should just hold evidence that they have tried to contact ukvi (so emails sent). Hope it helps. |
bakol:There is a letter that comes in the pack when you pick up your passport with the vignette sticker. Is that what you mean? You need that letter to be able to pass through immigration in UK. It’s written in it that the letter should be presented to the visa officer. |
sharpsharp:Yes, my company ticked the financial commitment section on the COS but I paid all visa fees, including the surcharge by myself. I know there are companies that pay the visa fees for applicants or even provide the money for the fees as a loan to be payed back with no interest (all depends on how the company manages it) |
Visa Alert (Skilled Worker) Visa Application - 15th February Biometric- 18th February Application sent to DMC - 18th February Application sent to VAC - 3rd March Visa Collected - 4th March. I know most people here are on the Health abs Care worker path so I’m writing this to also assist those on the skilled worker Tier 2 path. Step 1: Finding and Getting a Job First thing (and most important is looking for a job that matches your work experience. I work in the finance sector so I applied to just about every consulting/ Big 4/ Finance company that had openings that matched my skill level. It’s important that when you read the JB, your CV can back it up. Most companies do key word searches to sort through all the CV’s they receive. So if you are an engineer go through the career page for Shell, Rolls Royce, if you are in IT…the world is your oyster. I sent out about 36 applications. Multiple within the same organization. From there it moved to the interview stage. Practice as much as you can. Not just to know what to say but to feel comfortable enough to let the conversation flow. Also if you are sent the name of the interviewer ahead of time…do a little stalking. LinkedIn even Instagram. You might just find something you have in common. I had 2 interviews (a month apart) before I received my offer about a month after the 2nd interview. Step 2: COS After I accepted my offer, my company had to perform a background check. This took about a month to complete (mainly because of the Christmas break). After that they moved on to the COS. My job needed a copy of my TB certificate to begin and that took a while but once I sent it in it took less than 2 weeks for my COS to be issued to me. I didn’t need to make any payment for this. Step 3: Visa application. There are enough posts that detail the requirements but I’ll just like your the documents I submitted. Completed visa application, copy of COS, copy of University degree (schooled abroad), copy of passport data page and all previous UK visas and immigration stamps for the past 10 years, job offer letter) (I didn’t to show proof of funds) I hope this was helpful to someone. |
ElDeeVee:Thank you |
adedee14:Do you mean the section where they asked when I’d be able to start? I put down immediately. |
Darlx:Thank you |
Darlx:Advisory |
ZandraFuller:Me too |
ZandraFuller:Yes. Email said I should come tomorrow. |
It ends in praises |
tnAdedamola:me to. fingers crossed. |
dameezzyy:Amen...been counting since my AC. Waiting for the day I refresh this page and see 50 new posts. It would end in Serious Praises! |
iAmChima:lol. my interview was like 30 min. when people were talking about hour long interviews... |
joebuchi123:Yes, my AC is on monday and it was Mariam that sent me the email. got it around 5pm yesterday. |
Just got an invite to the next stage. Monday |
Assuming that the month countdown starts from the last interview day, we should hear from them on or before Friday...god willing cuz this wait is something else |
Bobbydris:I think so as well. Thursday / Friday at the earliest. Good luck to all. |
blazingkings:I went in for advisory and my background is Engineering as well. It didn't feel like a grilling to me (that's if I compare it to my KPMG experience) but like I said earlier, on my interview day, they were really behind so they didn't have much time really grill us. |
Bobbydris:Not sure of the exact number but if interviews started as early as 10am then they interviewed about 12-14 people today |
OyoCorper:Just finished my interview. its basically what OyoCorper said except today they were really short on time so they tried to limit each one to about 30min each. They didn't have time to drill me on my CV but focussed more on the character traits like if you can work under pressure and working in a team; as a member as well as its leader. One guy focussed on scenarios, like if you had a very qualified team member that was more a less a nuisance, how would you tackle that situation. Not sure how tomorrow's interviews would be...maybe they would manage their time better but all in all it was an okay experience. Good luck everyone. |
those having their interviews today, what's your time...mine is 1:30 |
OyoCorper:how was your interview |
OyoCorper:Be prepared to recount your experience...as you have been elected forerunner ![]() |
interview on Tuesday!! |
Thavybe:i pray so. Have only heard about regret mails even from those not on NL. We would see how the rest of the week goes. |
Sorry but is it Dragnet or EY that is sending out the regret emails? |
Ayo12345:I think so as well, or at least end of this month so that hey can start the interview part next first or second week of July |
Just went through the 2015 thread...to try and pass the time and laugh (i've come to realize that we job seekers are at their funniest when waiting for response). Any just thought i should point them out https://www.nairaland.com/2309848/ernst-young-graduate-trainee-recruitment/46 while we wait. Loads of useful tips. |
pete26:you can do either at anytime. i did the cognitive and working styles first |
Thank you God! |
