According to Forbe's magazine, the list of world richest clubs have been revealed and Manchester United remained on top of the list. Football has proved again to be the most expensive sport clubs in the world. Now, I wonder where is Manchester City after all their big money spending. Manchester city tried to sign the Brazillian Kaka for a big fee and which would have made him highest paid sportsman in the world. Forbes's 10 most valuable sports teams 1 - Manchester United - $1.870bn (£1.144bn) 2 - Dallas Cowboys - $1.650bn (£1.009bn) 3 - Washington Redskins - $1.550bn (£948m) 4 - New York Yankees - $1.500bn (£918m) 5 - New England Patriots - $1.361bn (£833m) 6 - Real Madrid - $1.353bn (£828m) 7 - Arsenal - $1.200bn (£734m) 8 - New York Giants - $1.183bn (£724m) 9 - New York Jets - $1.170bn (£716m) 10 - Houston Texans - $1.150bn (£704m) Eurosport www.smile4kenny..com |

War in Sudan's Darfur 'is over' The six-year war between forces loyal to Sudan's government and rebels in Darfur has effectively ended, the UN's military commander in the region says. General Martin Agwai, who is leaving his post this week, said the vicious fighting of earlier years had subsided as rebel groups split into factions. He says the region now suffers more from low-level disputes and banditry. The UN says 300,000 people have died in Darfur, but the Sudanese government puts the figure at 10,000. Almost three million people are said to have been displaced by the fighting. Oppression claims Gen Agwai, who led a joint UN and African Union peacekeeping force known as Unamid, said the region now suffered more from "security issues" than full-blown conflict. "Banditry, localised issues, people trying to resolve issues over water and land at a local level. But real war as such, I think we are over that," he said. Gen Agwai said only one rebel group, the Justice and Equality Movement (Jem), posed a real threat but even it no longer had the ability to conquer and hold territory. Sudan analyst Gill Lusk said his comments were "unhelpful" because they could lead people to believe that Darfur's problems had been solved. "There has been a large decline in fighting in Darfur, and that is undoubtedly a good thing for the people," she told the BBC. "But it is the government that turns the tap on and off - they can restart the violence whenever they want." An aid worker in Sudan also questioned Gen Agwai's statement. "If that is true, why do some parts of Darfur remain out of bounds, even for Unamid?" she asked. 'Strong foundation' Gen Agwai insists the real problem now is political. BBC Sudan correspondent James Copnall says that view is shared by many within Sudan. Although the intensity of the violence has reduced, there is still little prospect of a peace deal. Last week, US envoy to Sudan Scott Gration said the existence of 26 different rebel factions was a major obstacle to reaching a peace agreement with the government. He brokered talks which led to four groups agreeing to work together, calling the deal a "very strong foundation for rebel unification". The war broke out in the arid and impoverished region early in 2003 when rebel groups including Jem attacked government targets, accusing Khartoum of oppressing black Africans in favour of Arabs. Pro-government militiamen hit back with brutal force, which the US and some rights groups have labelled genocide. Khartoum denies supporting the militias, but the international court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant earlier this year for President Omar al-Bashir accusing him of war crimes. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/8224424.stm |
The point is stated clearly my guy, he will function as THE SUN's MANAGING EDITOR IN CHARGE OF THE NORTHERN REGION.need more clarification ![]() |
Resigning from his high pay job as an adviser to the governor . The former Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor, Eric Osagie, has returned to The Sun newspapers where he will now function as the organization’s Managing Editor in charge of the Northern region. By his new portfolio, Osagie is expected to coordinate all the bureau chiefs in the region and aggressively pursue the editorial, advertisement and marketing expansion of the newspaper group. A prose stylist, columnist and one of Nigeria’s most penetrating interviewers, the new Managing Editor, is an experienced journalist whose career has seen him through the newsrooms of major newspapers, including the defunct National Concord and Thisday newspapers, amongst others. A pioneer editor of the Abuja bureau of The Sun, with oversight function to all the northern states, Osagie was appointed Special Adviser by Governor Adams Oshiomhole, on November 12, 2008, a day after the Appeal Court sitting in Benin City declared the Action Congress candidate the duly elected governor. He resigned from his position on August 13, 2009, after spending barely 10 months in office for “personal and professional” reasons, an action which has continued to be applauded by many Nigerians, including public commentators who see it as triumph of principle over opportunism. There are so many reasons why Michael could have faked his death. 1.According to the media,he wants a private life, thus faking his death was the only option left:dis paparazzi go disorient you! 2.He was supposed to perform at 50 shows: I guess he figured his performance will be whack so he used death as an option to get money from his loyal fans. 3.He was in debt: another scheme to relieve himself from Gbese! 4.His brother never saw his dead body. 5.I also think he begged his doctor to take responsibility for his death: as you all know,Micheal is fond of asking grave favors from his friends. 6.Why would an autopsy take that long:Enough weeks to work out plans to fool the public. Fellas, wetin una think? |
@seun This is no rumor, except from Sun! According to the source, when the kidnapers noticed that the bullet did not penetrate the body of their victim, they bundled him into their the SUV and sped off to an unknown destination via Nkpor Road. |
So this really works! Naija for you, A multi-millionaire transport mogul, Chief Godwin Ubaka Okeke of G.U.O Motors was yesterday abducted by unknown gun men in Onitsha, Anambra State. His abduction is coming days after the wife of another multi-millionaire transporter, Igwe (Dr) James Mamah of Ifesinachi Transport was kidnapped in Nsukka where she is studying. According to an eyewitness, the incident occurred as the victim was about to leave the All Saints Anglican Cathedral Church, after service. The eyewitness narrated that as Okeke made to leave the church premises, the kidnappers, who arrived the church in a Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and Mitsubishi bus, shot sporadically into the air to scare people away before shooting directly at their victim. According to the source, when the kidnapers noticed that the bullet did not penetrate the body of their victim, they bundled him into their the SUV and sped off to an unknown destination via Nkpor Road. Daily Sun gathered that somewhere along the Nkpor-Umuoji Road, the kidnappers on sighting a roadblock mounted by the Mobile policemen, abandoned their SUV and escaped in the Mitsubishi bus. No contact has been established with the family of the victim, even as his phone lines have been ringing without response. Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Uzor Amakulor confirmed the incident in a telephone chat with Daily Sun. He disclosed that the police are still on the trail of the kidnappers. It would be recalled that Okeke’s son was kidnapped sometimes last year but released after an unspecified ransom was paid. Chief Godwin Ubaka Okeke was the President General of Onitsha Market Amalgamated Traders Association (OMATA) and an executive member of the Luxury Bus Owners Association of Nigeria (LUBON). He is currently the Chairman of the Anambra Motors Manufacturing Company Limited (ANAMCO) based in Enugu State. http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2009/aug/24/national-24-08-2009-06.htm |

Ok you might need to hold your breath for this one, Star Magazine has reported that Chris and Rihanna got married in secret. Could this be true? I'm sure the truth will come out soon. Chris And Rihanna] had a tearful face-to-face meeting at Diddy's $14.5 million Miami mansion, during which an emotional Chris apologized, begged for forgiveness and proposed to her on the spot. "All she's ever wanted was to be with him forever," a source tells Star. "Rihanna is looking for the husband-and-two-kids deal before she turns 25. She believes in fairy tales, and she wants to live hers with Chris. She was totally up front and confessed to him, 'I can't live without you.'" The pair wasted no time making Rihanna's fairy tale come true. They even called a minister to the mansion on exclusive Star Island! http://www.underdarock.com/ranking.php?mode=blog&message_id=230&row_template=index_blog_show.tpl

Why are our politicians disgracing us, see this guy ooh, not only that, even the Nigerian High Commisioner to Malaysia is another example, he comes to a hotspot where Nigerians hangout, drink 4 odeku(big stout) and 2 plate of psoup, then go home with girls for his, he even asked my ex-gf out and has almost flexed all the black girls here, but he does nothing to protect Nigerian interest here,im not beefin his lifestyle but he should do his job and not carry dat big belly of his around lookin for young grls to devor, now read , THE Nigerian High Commissioner to Namibia, His Excellency Ambassador Prince Adegboyega Christopher Ariyo, shocked guests when he initiated a fistfight at a high profile gala dinner, attended by Namibian and Nigerian dignitaries for busines networking. The fight at the gala dinner-turned-boxing-match, erupted when Ambassador Ariyo physically booted fellow Nigerian citizen and Windhoek resident, Debo Ogunbiyi, from the Safari Hotel and Conference Centre last Wednesday, claiming that he was not invited. Efforts by Ogunbiyi to explain to the Ambassador that co-organiser of the event, the Association of Nigerians in Namibia, had invited him to the function, proved fruitless. Seething with anger, the Ambassador, allegedly grabbed Ogunbiyi pushed him to the floor and pinned him down whilst pummelling him. Stunned guests including officials from the Namibian Ministries of Finance, Information and Technolgy and Education, and their Nigerian counterparts including some Nigerian State governors, watched in disbelief as Embassy Staff rushed to pull their Ambassador off Ogunbiyi. Despite being overpowered by the combined efforts of His Excellency, Prince Ariyo and the Embassy Staff, Ogunbiyi managed to throw a few punches in the air before fleeing the scene. Ambassador Ariyo confirmed that he kicked Ogunbiyi, whom he recognised as a Nigerian citizen at the event, claiming that he had been in the wrong place. “I had important people including Ambassadors at the event, and I could not keep him. This was an event organised by the High Commission and I made provisions for only 80 people, and he was not invited,” he said. An official of the Association of Nigerians in Namibia, who witnessed the incident, confirmed that Ogunbiyi was invited. “For the first time, I hate being a Nigerian – and for the Ambassador and Embassy Staff to physically remove me from the event – shame on them,” Ogunbiyi fumed. Ogunbiyi said he attended the event not for fun but rather to network and check on opportunities available. “What’s wrong with a Nigerian attending an event organised using Nigerian taxpayer’s money. Is my Embassy, an institution that’s supposed to protect me, now telling me that I cannot meet with my fellow citizens?” The following Thursday when Ogunbiyi went to the Windhoek Police Station to report the case, he said that the police turned him away, claiming that the Ambassador enjoys diplomatic immunity and therefore cannot be prosecuted. According to Sunday Sun findings, this is not the first time Ambassador Ariyo had caused public embarrassment for his country. In an earlier Informante expose, he was reported as one of the ‘dozing diplomats and politicians’ during President Hifikepunye Pohamba’s important and legislated State of the Nation address to Parliament. Before going to press there were several attempts by the victim, Ogunbiyi, and officials of the Association of Nigerians in Nambibia to gag the story. They claimed that an urgent meeting with the Ambassador was held where “the matter has been solved.” http://sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2008/sept/28/national-28-09-2008-001.htm |
