The last day of the year 2021. I started the year with so much expectations and zeal. Crazy year i would say, tried taking my life twice. Really how i am still alive is a mystery! Am grateful to God, to family, to friends, to this platform even my foes aint excempted! Learnt alot of things! Met alot of people! Did alot of things. I found Joy in my depressed state.

That's why state police needs to be set up immediately. Governors needs to be in charge of securing the state 100%. Who born soldier or Fulani herdsmen to kill people in any state when they know they will be arrested and dealt with. The soldiers are doing all these because they know they are doing what the federal terrorist government asked them to do.

If Nigerian leaders wants to really tackle security issues of Fulani herdsmen and police/soldier brutality, then the governors must make sure that they control security in their States 100% so that any police or soldier who wants to take any action in the state must do that only through the authorities of the state security body under the governor and not the federal government.

State police is the solution to all these wreckless killings and herdsmen menace.

Nnamdi Kanu: Judge Sets To Give Final Judgment

An Umuahia High Court Judge, Justice Benson Anya has today (10th December, 2021) concluded hearing in the Fundamental Rights suit filed on behalf of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and has decided to pronounce a final judgment on the above mentioned suit.

The suit which was filed by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu's special counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor on 26th August, 2021 against the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and six others, seeking stoppage of Kanu’s prosecution and release from detention and a compensation of 5billion Naira over the violation of human rights of Kanu.

At the judicial hearing in the court today, the Lawyers to the Respondents, which included Barristers Simon Enoch (for the AGF), Omo-Osagie M (for the police), Amos Tori (for the Army) and C. Odukwe for the DSS, raised preliminary objections to the jurisdiction of the Court to entertain matters pertaining to the Federal Government.

However, Barrister Ejimakor maintained that the suit is aimed at barring the prosecution of Mazi Kanu and securing his release from detention, because the opposite will amount to rewarding the government for the injustice inherent in the illegal rendition of Kanu. He further cited to the authority of the Nigerian Constitution, case law and other authorities.

Ejimakor further explained that the African Human Rights chatter is against any form of extraordinary rendition adding that Nigeria is signatory to such law. He also cited the case between Aba-Kyari and the United States of America, adding that the US government has all it takes to extradict Kyari, but chose to go through its processes.

After many counter oral arguments by both parties, processes were duly adopted while the judge informed parties that they will receive a hearing notice bearing the date the court will render its judgment.

Also present during the hearing is Mazi Igboayaka O Igboayaka, the President of Ohaneze Youths Council who condemned the illegal positioning of armed security men within the court premises. Igboayaka stated that such experience is illegal adding that the Northern part of Nigeria is in need of such actions than Umuahia High court premises.
