ON the 14th day of January 2022 [12 Shebat 5782], the Jewish Rabbinate of the Obadayah Alliance [Dayan Jacob de Oliveira, Dayan Eliezer Tabor, Dayan Yehonatan Elazar-DeMota, Rabbi Hananiah Cohen, and Rabbi Haim Ovadia] ruled that the Igbos of Nigeria are descendants of ancient Israelites.
According to the Rabbinate, “the presence of Israelites along the Niger River had been known by Jewish authorities in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Lithuania, and Suriname.

Rabbinic letters addressed to the Igbos by Chief rabbis: Dr. Solomon Hershel Lewin, David Meldola, and the Gaon of Vilna (Elijan Zalman), support the idea that there was contact between European Jewish communities and Igbo Israelites. All of the correspondence from the aforementioned rabbinic authorities address the Igbos as “brethren of the Children of Israel.” Accordingly, there is no doubt of their origins, nor of their halakhic status as Israelites.”

According to the Rabbinate, while there is yet an exhaustive academic genetic study of the Igbos, the data of the majority of those who have reported their autosomal and y-chromosome DNA, supports that their ancestors migrated from the Levant Basin, sharing genetic links with Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews alike.

The Rabbinate noted the fact that rabbinic authorities during the Songhai Empires were aware of Israelites in Igboland, which leads to the logical conclusion that they treated Igbos as Israelites. The final conclusion of the Obadya Alliance Rabbinate was that “Igbos are to be treated as Israelites, in every sense of the word, and also their priestly and Levite lineages should be upheld as valid.”
The Rabbinate advised that upon the return of the Igbos to Omenana (what you do in the Land), they should be circumcised [if they hadn’t performed it already], say the sheheḥeyánu afterward, and partake in the kola nut ceremony with their brethren, as is customary among Igbos.

This ruling may also trigger more scholars to do more research about Igbos, what they offered the world in the past, what they are offering the world now, and what they would offer the world in the future.

As democracy is under assault, the Igbos are democratic to the core and stand out as the most culturally democratic ethnic entity globally. The world may have a look at the Igbo traditional system of government, which has survived despite many years of British rule and Nigeria’s deliberate marginalization.
It is interesting that the Obadya Rabbinate addressed Igbos as Israelites, not as Jews. They also affirmed Omenana (what you do in the Land) as the authentic original religion of the children of Israel.

EASTERNERS ARE UNDER MANIPULATION

At times we might not understand it if we don't think deeply and ask some crucial questions.

We are being manipulated. I mean we in the East. We are all being manipulated. Are you Igbo, Ijaw, Efik, Ibibio, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Ogoni or whatever you call yourself, know it that you have been under manipulation for the past 51 years. You are not from South East, South South or Niger Delta. You are from the East. You are only being manipulated to think otherwise.

The Manipulation

Whatever is happening today is Britain using the Fulani to manipulate you. Far it be from me that I am blaming others for our woes, but the truth is that if you don't know of this manipulation, you cannot gain freedom.
This manipulation started during the genocide they called the Nigeria Biafra civil war.

The East has been under manipulation till this very day. No doubt, the East has been great in themselves. Whatever they touch turns to gold. In conquering the black man Britain found a stumbling block from the East. From the time of slave trade to the colonization era, the East never gave Britain a breathing space. Britain knows that for them to hold the East down they have to find a way to manipulate them.

Opportunity came with the war. Don't forget that the war of 1967 wouldn't have taken place if not for Britain. Britain wanted the war. The war is so much needed for the manipulation to work. They are so much in need of the resources in the East.
When Yakubu Gowon and Odumegwu Ojukwu met at Aburi Ghana and agreed to set aside every hostilities and become a confederate state, it didn't go down well with Britain who desperately needed the war.
Using British Broadcasting Cooperation (BBC) Britain mounted a campaign against the Aburi agreement, stating that at last Gowon has bowed down to Ojukwu. The implication of this statement is that Northern Nigeria has bowed down to Biafra. For Gowon represented Nigeria while Ojukwu stands for Biafra. This hurted the ego of the North (Nigeria) and infuriated them. The North in a meeting refused to adhere to the agreement. Rather they instructed Yakubu Gowon to divide Nigeria into 12 states. On 27 May 1967, Gowon proclaimed the division of Nigeria into twelve states. This decree carved the Eastern Region in three parts: South Eastern State, Rivers State, and East Central State. It was Gowon on the stage, but Britain in the background. With this division Gowon destroyed the regional government.

To this effect, the Eastern Consultative Assembly made up of elders from every part of the East voted for the East to secede from Nigeria. They demanded that Odumegwu Ojukwu declare Biafra a Republic. In obedience to the wishes of the people, on 30 May 1967, Ojukwu declared independence of the Republic of Biafra. As expected, Biafra came under attack by Nigeria Army. The war began on the early hours of 6 July 1967 when Nigerian Federal troops advanced in two columns into Biafra. With this Britain staged the decimation of the Igbo and their other cousins. It is worthy to note that the East prior to the war has been in charge of lots of offices in Nigeria. This was made possible due to their early embrace of education.

With the help of Britain and other world powers, Nigeria inflicted heavy causality on Biafra. Millions of Biafrans mostly women and children died. It was estimated that about 3.5million Biafrans died in that senseless war of Nigeria unity.

The war ended in 1970 with the Biafrans led by Philip Effiong surrendering to Nigeria. After the physical war, another unseen war started. And that is the manipulation of the Eastern people.

During the the war, Nigeria government perfected a successful plan that divided the East. Nigeria military started attacking the coastal Regions wearing Biafran Army Uniform and speaking Igbo during those attacks. Lots of Coastal Biafrans that survived the attack heard the attackers speak Igbo and till this very day, they still tell stories on how Igbo people wanted to wipe them out during the war. This is a high profile manipulation.
No one asked how a people suffering extermination will have time to wipe off their own brothers. No one asked if there has ever been any attempt previously by the Igbo to attack or expel their neighbours from their lands. No one asked how possible it will be for a people that lack weapons to waste it on their fellow brothers. No one cared to think deep and ask how Philip Effiong will be a second in command and his people will be wiped out by the same Army he commands. And to cap it all, he didn't speak about it. Are coastal brothers not in the Biafra Army? These are the necessary questions that will neutralize these lies that have been told over the last 51 years.

The seed of discord sown by the Nigeria government during the Civil War made it possible for the East to be fragmented. The Igbo became the worse enemies of most Ijaw, Efik, Ogoni etc. They see the Igbo as rivals. Some of them out of deep ignorance have proclaimed how it is better to live with the Fulani than the Igbo. With this mentality, the Fulani won. They took advantage, owned the oil, controls it and left the people with nothing, other than polluted environment, not good for agriculture.

The Fulani also divided the Igbo into many parts. They included Igbo people into the North and South South. They manipulated people into thinking that Igbo people are only in South East, while the Igbo people that fell into other regions started denying being Igbo. The Fulani frustrated anyone bold enough to answer Igbo after the war, which necessitated the denial. Asaba, Ikwere, Onitsha, Etche, Ogwashiukwu, Ika man will tell you how he is not Igbo. Those singing this shameful songs of denial will always be favored by the Fulani.

Betrayal Become A Lucrative Business In The East.

Those that led Biafra during the time of the war was the most trusted men the Easterners respects so much. They are men of integrity and patriots who will rather die than betray their own people. Men like Chinua Achebe, Akanu Ibiam, Odumegwu Ojukwu etc.
Nigeria government removed these men from office and started employing men that are ready to betray their own people.
Gradually, it became an act of foolishness and stupidity to stand for the people in the East. If you are not a puppet of the Fulani, you will not be appointed into any office in Nigeria. They encouraged these men to openly stand against their own people. They made them rich, influential and powerful that ordinary people started worshiping them. Remember the Igbo saying that says 'onye bu igu ka Ewu n'eso?' This is how almost everyone in the corridors of power in the East started becoming sycophants and hypocrites in other to make it. This is exactly how we got the leaders we have today. Leaders who will bring Pythons to kill their own youths. Leaders who will refuse to constitute security group for their own people, just to please the Fulani. Men who is so afraid of the Fulani to the extent that they will support the massacre of their own youths for protesting in a country Fulani herdsmen terrorists are pampered and Boko Haram terrorists recruited into the Army.

These manipulations made the Igbo, Ijaw Efik etc to loose focus. All the leaders in the East needed is to be loyal to the Fulani and they can loot and squander our collective resources the way they want. If you complain about the lack of federal government presence in the East, Northerners will remind you of your governors and how they are squandering the resources. It is just manipulation. They use them and yet blame them for your woes.

Since after the war, never a time have the East worked together to develop the East. There is zero plan by the Eastern leaders of today to liaise with each others to develop the entire East. It is just squandering and obedience to the Fulani as to escape persecution and prosecution. The Fulani only goes after anyone against them and standing for the people. The Fulani have the power to remove an elected Governor and replace him with their puppet. This is exactly why Emeka Ihedioha is not governor today.

This manipulation has effected every aspect of our lives in the East. Today, police men will love to be posted to the East because they make more illegal monies in the East than any other part of Nigeria. They know that the East is a police state. They are the marginalised part and got no right. So once you are arrested or confronted, you pay them and go with your goods. This has made life difficult in the East.

An Igbo in governor will do everything possible to safeguard his position through loyalty to the Fulani. He will rather employ unqualified HausaFulani into the government, than employ his qualified Eastern brothers. Those that are ignorant of the manipulation going on will never understand. They will rather say WE DON'T LOVE OURSELVES. You are just under manipulation.

Any Eastern Leader speaking against the marginalisation of the East in Nigeria will be witch haunted. Almost all the federal roads in the East are bad, yet no governor will ever complain. Parts of the East are polluted due to oil spillage, yet non of them is speaking for their own people. Some that fights for the people will be given contracts to shut them up.
If you speak up, a case will be opened for you in the court and you will surely be disgraced out of office.

You are from the East in Nigeria, you are not free. You are manipulated to hate yourselves and work against each other. It is only when you realise this, that you can work towards your freedom.

If you ask me, I will say that only the restoration of Biafra will break the stronghold of the Fulani on our people.

The British-Igbo War That Lasted For 31 YEARS:

The resolutions of the Berlin conference of 1884-1885, gave European nations the rights to lay claim to lands and resources in Africa.

Britain, who had engaged in the trade with coastal cities before and during the 19th century, made bold their intentions to covet resources and rule over indigenous nations all over Africa. Tribes resisted the British invaders, and this led to protracted wars. Many African tribes put up a great fight against the superior fire power of the suppressive British.

One of such tribes are the Igbo people of ancient Biafra, who are now one of the three major tribes in Nigeria.

The Ekuemeku Movement was the name of Igbo army, that held the British at bay and fought them for 31 years.

The Ekumeku movement consisted of a great number of attacks and uprising by the Anioma people of land, against the British, from 1893-1914.

The Ekumeku warriors were bound by a secrete oath, and meticulously utilized guerrilla tactics to attack the British Royal company, who were determined to penetrate Igbo land. The Ekumeku warriors were drawn from thousands of Anioma youth from all parts of Anioma land.

As the war rages on, the Ekumeku warriors defended their rights tom live peacefully without foreign interjection, while the British used heavy armaments. They destroyed homes, farms, and roads, by bombardment.

The British invaded Ndoni in 1870 and bombarded Onicha-Ado (Onicha) on November 2nd, 1897, from River Niger. This set the tempo for the rest of the war. The Royal Niger Company was commanded by Major Festing. They engaged the Anioma people of Ibusa in 1898.

The battle was so severe in 0wa/Okwunzu, in 1904, that the commander W.E.B Crawford requested for more arms from the British headquarters to crush the Western Anioma communities. The people of Owa again in 1906 engaged the British in a gruesome battle that consumed the life of the British commander S. O. Crewe.

Ogwashi-Ukwu faced the British on the 2nd of November 1909, and dealt a heavy blow to the British, who sustained many casualties, with the death of H. C. Chapman.

The Ekumeku became a formidable force in Igbo land and was a great source of nationalism for the Anioma people. It also served as a uniting cord that held together various towns who were independent of each other in the past. The Igbo were a republican people and each town had a leadership that was drawn from its oldest of men and families.

The war would have lasted longer, and possibly ended in a British defeat, if the Anioma people had equivalent fire power, and had more allies from other great Igbo kingdoms and towns. But even at that point, other tribes were facing the British on their own.

After almost 20 years of battle, decided to strike with great force. And in December of 1902, they sent a powerful expedition to Anioma kingdom. A great number of towns were destroyed. Civilians and soldiers alike were killed. And their leaders were arrested and imprisoned.

After this, the British were sure that they had suppressed the Ekumeku military cult, and that victory was theirs. The British officers boasted: “the Ekumeku and other secret societies have been completely broken.”

To their greatest surprise, two years later, in 1904, the fearless Ekumeku rose again. The Igbo are a proud and egalitarian people. They don’t go down that easily.

When the Ekumeku started their renewed campaign, they changed tactics, and abandoned the guerrilla warfare style of 1989, for individual defense of each town.

The last battle began in 1909. There was a succession dispute in Ogwashi-ukwu, and the British tried to remove the rightful king and enthrone someone else. One of the heirs to the throne, Nzekwe, the son of the last Obi, sensed the plot of the British and went to war with them to fight for his inheritance.

On November 2nd 1909, the British sent an expedition to Ogwashi-ukwu to capture him, but they failed. No amount of fire power at that point could defeat or quench the sympathy and dedication of the people towards the Ekumeku. In Asaba, the sympathy for the Ekumeku was so high that the people had a disposition to throw off the already British government in certain parts.

At the time, the acting Lieutenant-governor of the Southern provinces sent an agitated telegram to Lagos. It read: “Whole country is above are… is the state of rebellion.”

After this, reinforcements were sent from Lokoja, for another confrontation at Akegbe. The war raged on, till 1914, when the Ekumeku movement was defeated. That was the same year, the Northern and Southern protectorates of Nigeria were joined as one country.

Some of the heroes of that 31-year war included Dunwku Isus of Onicha-Olona, Nwabuzo Iyogolo of Ogwashi-Ukwu, Awuno Ugbo, Obi of Akumazi, Aggbambu Oshue of Igbuzo, the Idabor of Issele-Ukwu, Ochei Aghaeze of Onicha-olona, Abuzu of Idumuje-Unor, Idegwu Otokpoike of Ubulu-Ukwu. These men are remembered in Anioma land till date.

The Ekumeku war remains one of most bravely fought wars and campaign against British rule and plundering. It later inspired other rebellions around Africa, such as the Mau Mau of Kenya.

The Ekumeku have long been defeated, and that kingdom is now part of the greater Igbo land, in today’s Nigeria. But no matter how far we travel in time, history always remembers that a brave tribe defended their ancestry, heritage and legacy against the tyranny of Wilberforce.

Till date, in Nigeria, the Igbo remains one of the few tribes that still resist British rule over them and their resources. It can be said that these sentiments were at play when the British supplied weapons to the Hausa Fulanis in the Northern part and the Yorubas in the Western part of Nigeria to fight and kill the Igbos during the Nigeria Biafra War between 1967-1970 .

Residents of Atta, Obor, Umutanze and Okporo communities in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State have cried out that their generation may be wiped out by security agents in Nigeria.
The people claimed that some callous operatives of the Department of State Services, police and army have embarked on killing their youth and destroying houses since December 30, 2021.

According to a distress message by affected residents signed by Barrister N.S.
Ezenwata, President, Orlu Indigenes for Peace Initiative, the villagers have begun deserting their ancestral homes over fears of being eliminated.
In a copy of the SOS message seen by SaharaReporters on Tuesday, 25 young people are said to had been killed while over 60 houses have been burnt by security agents.

OIPI called on the heads of the police, DSS and army to investigate the heinous acts of these security operatives or it will engage human rights groups to intervene. The statement reads, "The Orlu Indigenes for Peace Initiative hereby calls on the security agencies and Governor Hope Uzodinma to stop the prevailing mass killings and destruction of the indigenous communities of Atta, Obor, Umutanze and Okporo in Orlu, Imo State.
"We also call on the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba; the Director-General of the Department of State Services, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, and the Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya, to constitute panels of investigation and fish out the officers and soldiers that are exhibiting impunity and lack of the knowledge of the rules of engagement in law enforcement when in Imo state particularly in Orlu Senatorial Zone.

If not, we will launch multiple law suits against them to address the heinous crimes. "Our people are desperately crying out to bring the attention of Nigerians of good will and the international human rights organisations to the ongoing indiscriminate mass killings and abductions of our male youths and incessant burning down of buildings that are currently being perpetrated by the combined forces of the DSS, soldiers and the Imo State government set-up Ebubeagu security outfit under the guise of combatting the unkwown gunmen.

"If the Imo State Government and the forces believe that the so called criminals they are after reside in the communities they should use their intelligence to fish them out individually and make them face the law instead of resortig to committing mass killings and arson against the entire local population.
"The most painful part of it is that all the DSS officers and soldiers committing these atrocities are Hausa and Fufulde speaking Fulani Muslims from the North. This is a crime against humanity.

"The Imo State Government should be prevailed to understand that its utmost
constitutional priority is the security of it citizens and not playing politics with the lives and property of Imolites.
"Please share this widely before it's too late for these communities. We do not want another Oyigbo, Odi, Zaki Biam or Asaba in the heart of Igboland," it added.
