Sure @Brandnew2. Right now my website is not going and i dont have any clue when it will start going. For now, i dont have enough financial resources to move from this current host that will expire this september to any host. What are the options that will make me get gossipx.net back to be browsable on web browsers.

Hi wonderful folks, i bought a domain name and hosting service from http://upperlink.ng since last september (2014) and everything has been going fine until recently.
I was sent an email on friday lastweek that there will be server upgrade from from my hosting company and all website on their server should be going on or before monday morning this week. Since that saturday, my website @ http://gossipx.net has not been acccessible. I often send email about the problem to the company and they normally reply but yet, my website is not accessible from any web browser.
Sometimes last two weeks, i changed my nameserver to that given me by http://cloudfare.com to make my website run faster which i can say made my site responds faster since then. After my hosting provoider server upgrade, the management has always complained that i changed my nameserver and i should contact cloudfare to fix my issues, though after i changed my nameserver, everything has still be working perfectly before the lastweek server upgrade of http://upperlink.ng.
I want to ask if there is any1 having these same problem with upperlink.ng, the likely solution to my problem, and advices. Thanks for your support and passion to solving problems @evry1 on nairaland. My website is http://gossipx.net once again.

I believe in dealing with the roots of a problem so as to ultimately solve it.
Religion is good and also when religion plays a major role in the society, then we have to reduce to almost zero or zero the negative aspect of the "Nigerian religion".
The following describes how religion has retarded Nigeria and Nigerians.

1. Prayer is greater/better than thinking

In Nigeria, people believe in prayer than acting on their prayers via their thinking. They rather pray, pray and pray than pray, think and think. The two should go together though, but in the Nigerian dictionary, thinking is almost removed. Nigerians are scared to reflect on issues, going back and forth on issue but can quickly jump into prayer anytime.

2. GOD has put corrupt people in position so challenging them is like challenging GOD that put them there

Somehow, Nigerians believe that any of their leaders have being put in a position by God. This ultimately reduce any resolve made by Nigerians to challenge their leaders. Even though, God knows about leaders in positions, god may not have put them their in the first place. Sometimes, if men refuse to act correctly via opportunity God has given them, God might take the back seat and keep looking at the people. Challenging evil/corrupt leaders in this case means, you are representing God to establish greatness, peace, progress, equality that God wants for everyone.

3. Nigerians respect the wealthy people in the society

Religion has made nigerians quickly assume once you are rich, you are the right person while others are wrong. In Nigeria, judgement by the people is first based on material wealth instead of the content of people's character. That is why some of us wanna get rich at all cost regardless of those that will be used for ritual cos of your wealth, those that will die early when you embezzle their pension funds and all other bad examples. Perception, mentality of a people matters a lot when it comes to what ultimately happens to them. Your judgement of an issue matters a great deal.

4. Religious communities in Nigeria support their members even if members action is wrong

In the christian circle for example, their are different denominations. If 'winners church' pastor for example does something condemnable, members of 'winners church' quickly put on a defense armor to defend the wrong actions of their leader. This same goes for other denominations in Nigeria and also among other religious faithfuls. A quick example of that is how some muslims by their actions and inactions are happy bokoharam are killing christians, burning places of worship but i guess they are waking up now to the reality because it is already consuming them too. In any issue, lets us call a spade, a spade whether he/she is my brother/sister of the same faith or not.

5. Nigerians dont put their condemnation of people into real-life action

The easiest thing a nigerian does is to condemn an act or quickly seek out the negatives of any action or issue. This attitude can also be relegated to religion. Just like one of my point above, also the 'Touch not my appointed' clause, this instead of being a blessing is a curse in Nigeria. Nigerians love to condemn especially their political leaders but when you find out about those people condemning, deep-rooted in their heart lies even more bitter corruption they condemn in others. An average Nigerian is an hypocrite, bigot, not sincere, and a deep rooted thief. This can also be corrected via looking into religion and addressing this issues.

Nigerian churches have not done enough in terms of preaching to members that the poor is part of the society. Churches just want members to give to church and d church are not giving back to the poor but only to their personal agendas.

What do nairalanders think about this acts?

This is to inform the members of the christian community how a church collects its tithes.
When it is time for tithe collection, the following practice takes place.

1. Members are called out of the congregation for payment of tithes.

2. After members(tithers) assembles, announcement is made to the rest of the congregation to stand if they are a convenant tithers.

3. Prayers are offered for this category of people has other [b]titheless [/b]members watch.

Now, I want to ask, why this kind of practice in the church?

This is my sincere view of how APC can capture the presidency in 2015. Let me quickly
inform the readers that I am not at the helm of affairs at APC but just a sincere member
of the newly formed party, that really want the party to take over presidency and other
positions by 2015.
I personally do not believe politicians are the same thing as against the views of many
nigerians. If politicians are the same, what bout politicians from USA, UK et al.
What about politicians like BRF(Babatunde Raji Fashola), ORO(Owelle Rochas Okorocha).

Going by the present situation of the country nigeria, a whole lot of us always argue
talking about an ideal condition instead of making effective use of the present real
situation on ground. I will be talking about the present real nigerian situation.

We shall really be deceiving ourselves if we think that nigerians will not vote based on
ethnicity, religion and so forth come 2015. It will surely happen and we have to shape
our fortunes around this factor. Surely we shall get to a position someday when people
will be entirely voted based on track record, their works, and other good factors. For
now, let use what we currently have.

REGIONS TO FIELD PRESIDENT/VICE PRESIDENT
In my own opinion, I will suggest APC field in candidate from the north and south-east to
occupy the position of president and vice president. APC can make it south east as
president while north as vice president or North has president and southeast as
Vice president.

The following are my reasons:

1. The APC is more popular in southwest than any other region in Nigeria(Why?)- They have
more governors that can deliver their regions in 2015 than any other region in nigeria.
With little persuasions, people from the region can deliver more than 80% of the vote to
the APC come 2015.

2. Their is a perception that APC is a regional party: To clear this perception from so
many nigerian population plus even the educated ones, APC need to field candidate that
will clear this wrong perception. It has always being perceived that APC is an alliance
between the north and the south west. So with this political calculation by fielding from
this 2 regions, it will dissolve such perception very fast.

3. Their is a perception that APC is a muslim party: Except we want to be looking for
ideal situation, the real situation at hand which determines the outcome of politics now
is that their is a wide perception that APC is a muslim party. I will personally say this
is a propaganda to discredit the efforts of the new party. Now, it has to be taken care
of by fielding candidate from this two regions. The northerners have muslims as the
majority and south-easterners have christians has the majority. This will dissolve this
perception.

4. An average IGBO perceived APC as anti-IGBO: Following the obvious merginalizaation in
some quarters, nominating candidate to occupy No 1 or 2 of the nation's highest office
from the IGBO enclave will make the IGBO have some confidence in one nigeria, and believe
APC to be a party that can assure their aspirations as far as politics is concerned.

5. People now believe their vote will count: Recent happenings in the nigerian political
space has hugely suggested that vote will count in nigeria which I believe it will this
time around. People no longer believe that their votes wont count. That is why work has
to be done in terms of mobilizing people by informing them, going to the grassroots to
educate people about why a candidate is better than the one. This only happens because of
the assurance of the fact that vote will count come 2015. There is no more propaganda as
common among political parties before, this time around, states, local governments have
to be adequately informed about a candidate and other progressive factors.

6. Population: This is one of the most important factor as far as election is concerned.
Have you considered BUHARI, that never had a very good campaign in the southern part of
nigeria could have more than 12million vote in 2011. This is as a result of the
population in the northern part of nigeria. One of the reason the north(elites most
especially) always boast is because of their population. They actually determine who
comfortably wins the presidential election in Nigeria. Fielding this two region come 2015
by APC will kind of help. How? Using a northerner(muslim especially) will help garner
vote from the north. Southwest wont have problem because APC is very dominant in the
region. A lot will vote APC from southwest in 2015 me inclusive. SouthEast also have a
very huge population relative to south south. The IGBO will surely vote their own whether
president or vice president come 2015. Remember Edo state, Chief Tom Ikimi,Prof. Tam
David-West is part of the south south. So, APC will surely get a good vote from their
also.

This is just what I feel will work for the APC come 2015.

To be fair, this youths are from the north, they are just being zealous, though they are really rubbishing the image of the newly formed party. While we can say pastor bakare is wrong here, i have a different perspective on this.
I think he is trying to say that The president has most likely done this because of the
gullible religious christian that will make them to be moved and call the president a godly
person even though things are getting difficult for them as the days goes by. Christianity hasnt made
us to loose our god given brains to think logically. I discover most people that wrote something here
