Nasarawa State Members of the cabinet are to commence fourteen days self-isolation with effect from Friday, July 10, until their COVID-19 test results are out.

The State Commissioner for Information, Culture, and Tourism, Mr. Dogo Shammah, made the announcement and noted that the move is a precautionary measure to monitor the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, this is coming just after the state Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Abdulkareem Kana, tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The former head of State Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar has refuted the claim that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigated his house in Minna, Niger State.

The General made this known in a statement through his Military Assistant Captain J. Mfon (rtd) on Thursday.

According to the statement, the General recalled that in 2017, operatives of the Commission from Kano zone had visited Minna to search a house in Tunga and somehow the team ended up at His Excellency’s Guest House in Minna but were denied access because they had no search warrant to search his property.
Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar in the statement said he was prompted to clarify things due to the ongoing media frenzy insinuating His Excellency in Magu’s issue.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant, Edo state, Dr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu, denies allegedly bathing a student with acid as an undergraduate at the University of Benin.

In the previous election conducted in Edo state in 2016, former Governor Adams Oshiomole, accused the then PDP candidate, Ize-Iyamu, of pouring acid on his fellow student.

Reacting to the report, Ize-Iyamu said he did not pour acid on anyone narrating the incident that led to his rustication in an online programme, Ize-Iyamu clarified that he brought the school’s attention to the plight of the student after ensuring he had gotten first aid.

42-year-old reality TV star, Katie Price says she hopes her eldest son dies before her.

She said this after doctors warned about Harvey’s health that he is at serious risk of dying from a heart attack if they don’t make changes.

According to the tv star, earlier this week, her eldest son was rushed to the hospital and suffered from chest pains at Princess’ birthday party.

He was, however, discharged and is currently recovering at home.

Goods worth millions of Naira have been destroyed by fire which wreaked havoc on over 100 shops in the popular Marian market in Calabar on Friday.

The fire, which started from one of the shops in the fruit section, spread to other shops and destroyed goods worth millions of Naira including vital properties.

An eye witness, Mr Ojah Ojah, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria at the scene of the event, said that the fire outbreak started around 8 p.m. on Friday

The World Health Organization, (WHO) in Congo, Brazzaville has released a list showing countries without   COVID-19 death cases.

According to the report, the pandemic is rising fast in Africa with a total number 444,983 COVID-19 cases and 10,847 deaths have also been recorded across different countries in Africa.

In a similar development, Africa has also recorded more than 214,000 recoveries from COVID-19 infections.

One Oyo state isolation centre, Olodo Infectious Disease Centre in Ibadan, has recorded its first COVID-19 deliveries.

The state Governor, Mr. Seyi Makinde, on Saturday, while giving an update on the COVID-19 cases in the state, announced this through his official Twitter handle.

Mr Makinde noted that the state had confirmed another new 19 positive cases, bringing the number of cases to 1,451.

He also said that the state had recorded two death as well, which brings the total number of death to 14 cases.

The Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola has ordered a total lockdown in four local government areas in the state for one week.

This was made known in a statement issued by the State’s Commissioner for Information and Civic Orientation, Mrs. Funke Egbemode.

According to Egbemode, the lockdown will affect Ilesa East, Ilesa West, Atakumosa East, and Atakumosa West and will commence on Tuesday, July 7.

The Ebonyi State Governor David Umahi, awaits coronavirus test result as he told Newsmen that he has sent his sample to the National Centre for Disease Control(NCDC).

The governor stated this in Abakaliki on Thursday during the swearing-in of some newly appointed government officials.

He said that he is prompted to go for the test after some government officials in his state tested positive for the Coronavirus.

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has reportedly placed Robots at Airports ahead of reopening and in readiness of flight commencement.

This is coming after news of the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport reopening.

Ekohotblog gathered that the Robot would be used for profiling passengers, temperature checks, check-in and also screen for dangerous arms.

In a video posted on Twitter by The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE), Nigeria section, it showed the robot in demonstration.

The Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on Saturday, re-opened for business with the observance of safety protocols following the Coronavirus (COVID-19), pandemic.

The airport also complied with strict safety measures, aimed at curtailing the spread of the virus.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports that provisions were made for hand wash and alcohol-based sanitizers, there were temperature checks, as well as strict compliance to the social distancing order of about one metre.

An Ekiti State University Ado Ekiti (EKSU) drop out identified as Elijah Ayodeji Ojo has been arrested by the Ogun state police command for parading himself as a lawyer to swindling residents.

The Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest.

Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested after another legal practitioner wrote a petition against him to the DPO of Ajuwon police station.

Ogun state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi said; “Though he gained admission to study law at Ekiti State University, he did not finish the course, neither did he go to law school.

“He has been parading himself as a legal practitioner for quite some time now and has been using that to swindle several people of huge amounts of money.

“The complainant had reported that Ojo used to parade himself as a lawyer, thereby extorting money from unsuspecting members of the public, despite the fact that he had never been to law school anywhere.

16-year-old girl, Aisha, gives birth through Cesarean section at Gbagada hospital after she was allegedly gang raped by 4 men in Lagos state.

Lagos has recorded another fire outbreak as properties worth millions of naira have been gutted by fire in Ajao market.

The fire, reportedly started around 1 am from a shopping mall and extended to the central market, affecting some adjoining buildings.

Nosa Okunbor, the spokesperson of LASEMA, who confirmed the incident, said the situation is under control and no casualty was recorded.

Twitter doctor, Fumilayo finally reacts to rape allegation made against him by a female doctor, Bola.

The doctor narrated how himself and Bola who met on a micro blogging app started dating only for her to visit the UK.

He alleged that they had sex under the influence of alcohol after she came to the UK to visit before she came up with the whole idea that she did not give her consent.

He narrated,“And then she came with the wine, we had it together. Unfortunately, sex happened. Some days after,

I went for a course in London, which was 4 hours away. And she sent me a voice note, which I saw 10 minutes to the start of the course, in which she said she didn’t give her consent,” he wrote.
