Religion / Any Correlation Between The Old Testament And New Testament by emmanuelogbe(m): 9:21am On Oct 27, 2014
I am the kind of person that is so passionate about GOD, and wants to have a personal encounter with HIM. But with the way things are going, it seems we are gambling our lives with religion as there is no clear and uniformity in the interpretation of various bible passages. This has resulted to variations in denominational culture and mode of worship in churches around the world. Today we have the Catholic, Pentecostal, Anglican, Cherubim and Seraphim, Jehovah Witnesses; not to talk of other religions like Islam, Judaism, etc.
All these groups worship the same GOD but with different approaches. What is wrong and condemned in one denomination may not be wrong in the other. Then the confusion emerge, and I ask myself... Which group teaches the right principles or have the absolute license of our GOD Almighty?
I believed the way forward was the Scriptures i.e. the bible. But now, the more I study the bible (Old and New Testament), the more confused I become. It is apparent that the Old and New Testament contrast each other on some important issues. That was why after the LORD's crucifixion, Apostle Paul stated, "we are no longer bound by the law, but saved by grace through faith in Christ Jesus", though not a license for us to sin.
The confusion now is this; in the book of Matthew 5:17-19, Jesus said "think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one title shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. KJV".
Now the question is; what does our Lord Jesus mean by coming to fulfil the law, and that no title or one jot shall not pass from the law until heaven and earth pass away?
Are we technically still bound by the law?
Mature contributions needed pls.

It is unbelievable seeing the number of people viewing this thread. If only you guys will believe even as you see. One thing in life is that, no matter what you do and how good you are in life, there will always be people to despise you. But it doesn't change a thing because, you know what you do is true and you ain't faking anything to gain favors. That is what keep good people going even amidst trials and hate.
No matter what you do or say, to slander this man, he will always increase in favor from God.
It you think it is easy to fake and stage miracles, and have followers all over the world, why not go and set up your own church lets see how far you will go.
The LORD indeed is faithful in his promises, and that is why He will never forsake his own.
GOD bless you MOG!!!
Romance / Re: Why Re Almost All (97%) Of Ladies Into "Runs"? by emmanuelogbe(m): 7:36pm On Oct 02, 2014
fairari022: sir, call a spade a spade, and not a digging tool. you don't have counter the op's claims, using unrelated scenario to justify a logomachy that can't hold the rain.

@op, I'd like to know how you came about this statistics

Mr. Who told u those are unrelated scenario? I am not trying to be defensive here but factual. I have sisters, female relations and also female friends. I have seen how guys fool themselves up and down just because of ladies, not to talk about how some of them beg the ladies for s*x. After all these, you guys come here to call them all sort of names. That is so unfair. You don't just examine a handful of ladies whom because of one problem or the other find themselves doing this and then you come here to say 97% of them are prostitutes. If you insist they are prostitutes, then you guys better ask who they are selling their assets to. If they are prostitutes, stop patronizing them.
The fact that you call them prostitutes corroborates their perception about all men being cheaters. Why call them prostitutes when they start looking glamorous? Can't they afford it? If they don't look good you guys complain, and if they do, you call them prostitutes. What do you guys really want from them?
I would say guys are more immoral if you try to compare the behavior of both sexes. Beside the issue of prostitution which is a mutual act between the two sexes, you guys don't have any strong case against them. The guys are not only also involved in prostitution but also molestation, armed robbery, fraud, cultism and other vices.
So I suggest you people should open more threads about guys, and also ask yourselves why you guys are so obsessed with the ladies and what they do.
Remove the log in your eyes before looking at the one in your neighbour's eyes.

I have always been skeptical about the news of his death. It was hard to believe and now I don't know what to believe anymore. It may be that they are trying to sustain the morale of the haramites in a way of saying their leader is still alive. Perhaps he is still alive. Never believed the story that he was dead though.
Nairaland / General / Boko Haram Leader Shekau Speaks In New VIDEO He Is Alive by emmanuelogbe(m): 1:55pm On Oct 02, 2014
What the heck are we Nigerians supposed to believe now? Do we have two Shekaus now or our military don't even know who the real Shekau is?
Shekau speaks in new Video says “Here I am, alive"
“Here I am, alive. I will only die the day Allah takes my breath,” Shekau said, adding that his group was “running our… Islamic caliphate” and administering strict sharia punishments.
Nigeria’s military said last week that Shekau was dead and that a man who had been posing as the group’s leader in the videos had been killed after fighting with troops in the far northeast.

Romance / Re: What Is It With Ladies Of Now? by emmanuelogbe(m): 6:36am On Oct 02, 2014
Sometimes I just can't blame them. It happens because of the general perception about a girl and guy being friends. Some parents would frown at it so bad that sometimes they wouldn't want their daughters to have male friends. Even in some churches, I have come to observe that there is a section for males and females seat. As a guy you don't dare sit with a girl and vice versa. Is there anything wrong with guys and ladies relating freely with themselves?
Romance / Re: What Is It With Ladies Of Now? by emmanuelogbe(m): 6:26am On Oct 02, 2014
I am not trying to bash the ladies guys. I don't know why they think that way. Not that I am bothered but I love making friends from both sexes. I guess the ladies should ease with us guys a bit. How many gals would one guy be dating if being nice to one means an attempt to woo her?
Romance / Re: What Is It With Ladies Of Now? by emmanuelogbe(m): 10:01pm On Oct 01, 2014
donsalvy: What about ladies of then?
dude I don't know much about the ladies of then. But seriously dude, what is ur view on the trend? Why do they always think you are trying to woo them whenever you become nice to them? I feel it is too much of an uncivilized act. Sometimes I wonder if they have brothers at home.

Romance / What Is It With Ladies Of Now? by emmanuelogbe(m): 5:56pm On Oct 01, 2014
Like seriously, I've come to realise that ladies are one set of dynamic and unpredictable human being. There are so difficult to deal with and understand. I really don't get it nor understand what they want. If you decide to mind your business, be quiet and alone, they will like say he is forming or he is a gay. If you try to be nice to them, they will start thinking you are trying to woo them and as a result, they put on all sort of looks on their face accompanied with their monosyllabic chat. Only few ladies I know are very good friends who feel free with you even though they are dating someone else. I relate with them freely as I do with my fellow guys.
Now the question is this; Can you be nice to ladies both single and in relationship without them thinking you're trying to woo them?
Family / Re: Any Woman That Can't Cook Is Highly Irresponsible. by emmanuelogbe(m): 3:01pm On Oct 01, 2014
For some ladies, they don't know how to cook because of where they came from. Some came from a home where they are not allowed to do any house chores let alone cooking.
It is though not pleasant to hear that a particular lady doesn't know how to cook, but it doesn't make her in anyway irresponsible. If she doesn't know how to cook but is willing and ready to learn how, then there isn't much problem. It is only when she doesn't know and is not ready to learn how to cook that irresponsibility somehow comes in.
Career / Re: Successful Nigerians Who Never Went To A University by emmanuelogbe(m): 1:49pm On Oct 01, 2014
Why do I get this feeling that it is only in Nigeria that we don't value education? Having a degree may not necessarily determine your tomorrow, but it gives you an edge over others in the future. It commands respect from the society, and it also defines you. There are lots of people in school today who should not even had bothered about going to school because, they are not receptive to the purpose of formal education. They just don't want to learn. Their only purpose is to experience that form of education. I'd advise such persons to go into trade or learn a vocation. For those who realise their areas of interest in time, it is a great opportunity for them to begin to explore their potentials.
But then, you must understand that there is no one formula to success. What works for one may not necessarily work for you. Even education comes in quality. Not everybody can become an entrepreneur. In as much as you advise people to go into trades and vocation, we need people in the society who can contribute their quota to societal development. People who are trained formally to be professionals in the field. In as much as we need entrepreneurs in the society, we also need Academicians, Actuaries, Doctors, Lawyers, Economists, Accountants, Pharmacists, and so many others. How would you become any of the above professionals without a tertiary education? Look at those in the oil and gas sectors, banks, military, civil service commission, telecom, insurance companies, hospitals and others; how do you expect to thrive successfully in such organization without tertiary education? I know a lot of people who work in some of these places without their degree but are in regrets and are striving with so much effort to get their first degree.
The bottom line is this, know what you want in life and pursue it. Do not try to generalize because you see that things aren't going well with others because, you don't know the story and situation surrounding them.
No matter how you look at it, Education is indispensable and Tertiary Education is very important.

Religion / Re: Ebola Epidemic: Where Are The Faith Healers In Africa? by emmanuelogbe(m): 5:56pm On Sep 30, 2014
OP, you should understand that there is a reason always as to why certain things happen in this life. You definitely have a long way to go using healing and miracles as basis to affirm the existence of God. Even the people of old after witnessing many signs and wonders performed by Jesus still could not believe Him. Even if God should heal the Ebola patients to convince you, it will only create more ground for you to keep bringing more tests to him. Would you say because the followers of Christ were persecuted and killed is an indicator that there is no God?
Wake up my brother and face reality, for God is real. Whatever your problem is, it is never to big or a threat that he can not solve. God is not looking for people to heal so as to convince people like you, but as many that look up to him for his grace of healing, He is willing to touch their lives and do what he knows is best for them.
I tell you today OP, God exists, but you can never find him if you don't seek him. May his grace be upon U!

Romance / Is This Thing Called Love Real Or It's Just An Illusion? by emmanuelogbe(m): 11:50am On Jun 05, 2013
Why does love easily fail the test of time? I once loved someone so much but all of a sudden, my feelings for her were lost without her doing me any harm. Is it natural when you break up with your ex?
