Depending on the school, it takes usually 2 to 4 weeks, mine took a month, but I applied for like 6 schools, and some even took just 1 week to reply, so try applying first.
And Also, I was sending the school mail to get information about the admission process..

I would advice to just apply for a residence permit and stay in SA after giving birth

For your child to become a citizen of South Africa, either you or your husband must have been staying in South Africa for more than 5 years, or must be having a permanent residence in SA

You'll have to take a different approach towards the visa

Yes, it doesn't qualify you, though giving birth in South Africa is not a bad idea, if you have sufficient funds, but you should not attempt to go to South Africa with the intention of not coming back..
