I Applied to JKU for a masters program last year. Early this February they sent me an email stating that I send to dem my original degree certificate and transcript and also legalised copy of both docs. I want to ask, for them to ask me to send the legalised docs, does it mean that they will give me admission. I am confused because they didn't state anything like me being offered admission. I need clarification. Thank you.

Jku is quite stressful, if you're sending your original documents, you should be prepared to wait a while, and its not also an automatic admission.

You'd also be required to go for an interview at the embassy.

Goodluck.

Thank you
Please how much do I need to put in my Austrian bank account before I can get my residence permit card

They're a lot of factors that applies.
Like age, your degree programme, amount you pay for rent, e.t.c

Currently, the lowest I've seen is 8.500€ and the max I've also witnessed requested from someone is 23.000€, so good luck with it.

Mit freundlichen Grüßen

Hi,
Are you still currently in Austria?, How is the covid situation there?..............hope the Russia-Ukraine tensions aren't affecting life there?...............I would also like to ask how long it took your Visa process, from applying to a school to getting a visa?[ assuming you went there on a student Visa, if not sorry for the Prejudice grin]

Hi, I am currently in Austria.
I presume the COVID situation is the same as in other countries, (you need a mask for public places, and vaccination certificate for Restaurants e.t.c).
Also, we're miles away from the war so it shouldn't be an issue (hopefully).

And lastly, it took me not too long, but with considerable amount of pre-planning, and multi-tasking (six months should suffice).

Good luck wink

No problem. Austria is not a racism-invested country. This I know. A boy just came in from Nigeria not long and he is Graz. He has never complained about that. I have some of them too in Wels. There have been cohabiting finely with the locals for now. The reason is that austria is small and more cultured than most countries. The reason you won’t find more blacks in their undergrads courses is because they are delivered mostly in German.

I agree with this, Austria is well cultured. So the chances of experiencing racism as a student is really low.

And if you must know,
You'd only get some form of racism, with officials because i guess they mostly have had quite some experience with illegal immigrants, and I'd guess that's why they're being like that, but I still wouldn't refer to it as racism, they just make things a little bit more strict just to make sure.

P.s: I've never had this experience before since I've been here. smiley

Good day, does anyone know any universities in austria that doesn't ask for official legalisation of documents? Would be really helpful to share, thanks.
Even if the school doesn't ask, the embassy will ask, so it's necessary.
Good luck

I am looking forward to apply to JKU next year 2022. Tell me about this proof of fund...do I put the money in my account or I just submit my sponsor's account statement? Also will the school provide a block account over there in Austria where I will send the proof of fund to?

you'll have to show a certain amount in your account to the Austrian embassy in Nigeria by bank statement and also prove the source of the funds, and on arrival in Austria you'd need to put that amount into a bank account you're going to open, and also show the bank statement to the magistrate to collect your TRP

I'v mapped out the schools I want to go to that are offering my masters course but the language of interaction is in German, should I still proceed to apply and what are my chances if I apply or should I just continue on English taught masters courses?
It's not advisable to apply for a German taught course if you don't know German, because you'll need a German language certificate, and may be required to take the interview at the embassy in German.

my dad once told me this about Austria.. He went there 1993-1997,he said they are nice people
Yeah, they're really friendly, though they're not too social, but once you get to know them, you'd be surprised.

I once saw a table for free on an online store, i went there to pick it up, while preparing to dismantle it, the lady asked where I parked, and i said i don't have a car, and she helped me carry it in her van to my apartment, and even helped me carry the table and crossed the road. I was really surprised grin

My bad that I have not updated the room so far. Austria is a very nice country with wonderful people. And average Austrian is ready to help you sort yourself out. They are mostly Christian dominated, though they have Muslim mixed up. Things are costly oooo but once you land a job, you will not feel it. German are prerequisite to getting a job but not in all job though. I booked an appointment to pick up my Residence card next month. If you have questions, you can ask and I will be ready to do justice to them. Keep safe for now and take care. This is my main account as Maureenho is my sister's Nairaland account. Besides, I am a guy as most of you who have chatted me can attest to.

That's really great bro, i am also currently in Wels.

Hi Emmanuelosa, i have no capacity to recommend any university cause it depends on personal choice.

Ok, instead of recommendation, just give me options to choose from,... Based on the environment, how easy it is to get a job, and accommodation,..
Thanks..
Positive response would be greatly appreciated.

Bro how much did you have in your bloc account or proof of sustainability for Austria

Austria doesn't specify the amount required, you just need to add all the expenses you'd require for a whole year, plus extra incase of sponsor...

what is with you against school re-opening sef. Aside from the idea that parents and providers are not yet financially stable to bear the burden of resumption at the moment, there is absolutely no other tangible excuse not to reopen schools. If you're a lecturer please say so because I can't see any other legitimate reason why anyone who is not a lecturer will defend the government's stance against schools resumption.

This is not a matter of support for the government,...let's support the right thing,

People's lives are not moving forward and you're exposing these kids to all forms of dangers such as yahoo yahoo/cyber fraud, kidnapping and other shady deals just because of idleness. Don't talk about jobs cause there are no jobs. As far as children are regarded. The clamour is for university because they are all adults who have very high chances of surviving covid-19 infections. Primary school kids can be exempted because they are infants. More so, nobody is talking about full resumption, exit classes can write their WASSCE nationwide using all classes belong to their juniors even, as well as private halls, stadiums, open places under a canopy while observing social distancing. Etc. Look this thing is very feasible and realistic, safe ways can be charted out but the FG don't even want to consider thinking about it.

And also,...the expenses they'd need for school now, might affect some parents, which might even lead to drop outs...

Most people can't even afford feeding now,..not to talk of school expenses,..

I've seen people that got hit really hard during this pandemic,...so just calm down a little and let the economy settle a little...
