Romance › Re: No Money, No Marriage by emmaodet: 10:38pm On May 30 |
onehope: Let no woman deceive you into marriage with this kind of lyrics oh. You must not be very rich to marry but don't try it as a struggling man. Except the woman is bringing money into the marriage. Everything is not money ke but by the time you cannot meet the needs of your wife for prolonged period, you go see shege for that marriage oh. Women do not know how to respect/honor broke men for long. And you are likely to share her with another man who can provide, that is if she decides to stay in the marriage. Even women themselves do not even know what they are capable of doing until they get to that bridge so do not rely on their vows or promises. You go faint when that same woman go say "I used to love you; or the way this marriage is going is not what I was expecting" Leave them until reality hits them. Love doesn't pay bills. Marriage is more of responsibilities and if you are struggling to clear your responsibilities when due, your wife and self would be so stressed that Love and Sex will be so cold and distant amng you two. Who talks about Love when the landlady is constantly embarrassing you every morning before you sneak out, shouting loudly. Who talks about Love when your kids are sent back home from school. When they are sick you are busy running around calling people for loans to take them to hospital. I guess people don't differentiate school Love and relationship with after school Love and Marriage. |

WhiteIverson: It seems the people of the Southwest are aware of the people who carry out the kidnappings but still allow them to live amongst them. They are even given traditional titles.
That means na family affair. No wonder Tinubu isn't bothered.
Toh make una enjoy The most alarming to me is even the 4 wives and 30 children. 30 children. Only 1 man 30 children. Just imagine the disaster these people will cause the country. They will overpopulate the natives/locals and try to over run them. 30 children with no education, go good quality of life and you expect them not to turn to kidnappers, cattle rustlers and boko Haram? |

Family › Re: At What Age Should a man Find His Feet In Life? by emmaodet: 7:56am On May 30 |
franchasofficia: When God and his destiny decides.
The race of life is not for the swift or for the wise or for the strongest or for the most hardworking or the smartest or the most intelligent or for the most beautiful/handsome, but of God that showeth mercy to whom He had decided to show mercy.
Look around you, there are very smart and intelligent people that are still struggling with life. There are strong people that are struggling to survive. There are hardworking men that are very broke and poor. There are very beautiful ladies that are struggling to find a partner while some are married and regretting or struggling to feed in that marriage. There are some handsome guys that are struggling to find just one woman to be with them. On the contrary, there are very dull people that are excelling in life beyond imagination. There are lazy people that are rich and famous. There are ugly women married to very rich and influential men. There are rich ugly women. There are ugly guys married to the hottest women you can only imagine, and etc.
So as a man you can decide that you will stand on your feet before you turn 30yrs or 35yrs and God will say He will bless you abundantly beyond your imagination before you even reach 30yrs.
God can decide to make it 50yrs, if thats your destined time, no matter how smart or hard you work, you will keep struggling and failing until you hit 50yrs and you will just realize that everything you lay your hands on will start working, even the things you once failed trying to do in the past, the stars will start aligning in your favor once you reach your God destined time.
Some people will say its all lies but they are saying it because they are destined to say it right now.
No human can run beyond his or destiny in life. Life is spiritual, we are only a physical manifestation of our spiritual being. I totally agree with you bro. The kind run and hustle wey i hustle for this life heyyyyyyy yet na zero upon zeros and at a point, i thought their was a curse following me. Guess what? what am even doing now at a very relaxed mode without any running around and i am far far far better than where i was 10 years ago. |

A poor man thinks money is everything Until they get it and find out it can't buy true love For every 1 lady you know who sleeps behind her rich husband or boyfriend, there is atleast 50 poor women who sleep behind their poor husbands and boyfriends. Say something else |
Romance › Re: No Money, No Marriage by emmaodet: 11:19pm On May 29 |
Host78: This is wrong in every way.
Marriage is kept by love not money. I hate that we try to tie everything to money nowadays.
People who are rich also get divorced. So clearly, money will not keep marriage.
If you have all the money in the world and you get married to someone with all the money too without any desire for each other, it's clearly won't work.
But if you love someone genuinely and without any money, then you both can work together and live a modest life together.
There are government schools in this country where you can school your children for free.
Most Nigerians have little incomes over 100k per month and are successfully married and raising their kids.
Yes sometimes, life gets hard for these people, but they endure it together.
My father was a police man with 5 children. We lived for a long time in a single room and all of us attended school.
It wasn't money keeping his marriage but love.
Most of us came from humble beginnings. It wasn't money but genuine desire by our parents to build a beautiful family.
They didn't revolve their entire world around finance.
Finance was not worshipped.
You may say, one day emergency will come and you'll need enormous amount of money to solve the problem.
But I tell you, this almost never happens. And if it happens, well it happens. Not every problem can be solved.
There are also health issues which your money cannot solve.
Steve Jobs with all his billions died of cancer like every other poor man would have.
Please I beg you as a young woman or man, build your house on love. LOVE? Why do i feel uncomfortable with that word .... Love. My father was a police man with 5 children. We lived for a long time in a single room and all of us attended school. You know in today's world, this is not right. I will rather take average money plus average Love over full Love/Little or No money or Full money/No Love |

Mayflowa: Very easy. Max is 2 years! Most of the people that won millions of dollars in lottery in US are back to square zero! Even if you started a N100 million business, most business will still fail.
Not easy to be rich! It's a gift to be rich! You are right about what you wrote but richness is not really about gift rather skill. Skill means you can learn it but people don't have the time or patience or endurance to learn a trade or skill over some periods of years to learn the rope |
Foreign Affairs › Re: South African Anti-Immigrant Group Orders Nigerian Man To Close His Car Wash Biz by emmaodet: 7:20pm On May 23 |
IamPatriotic: You're absolutely right. My best and undeniably only true friend left for South Africa in 2001, immediately after we wrote our first JAMB exam. Two years later, Oluwarantimi sent four cars to Lagos: one for me, one for his brother, and the others for different people. Me that was still in 100 level then. Although his uncle, who was a policeman, never gave me the car. He kept it for himself, and I didn’t find out until 2006 when we were chatting on Facebook and he accused me of being ungrateful for not appreciating the car he sent to me. Car bawo? I never received any car o. When he travelled, there was no Facebook. We only chatted on Yahoo Messenger whenever I had money to visit a cyber café, so there was no way I would know he sent me a car, because I stopped going to cyber café. Fast forward, when I heard that my childhood friend had sent four cars home within just three years of being in South Africa, bros, I was like, “Whao! That country must be the richest country on earth.” Imagine someone who couldn’t even pass WAEC successfully going to SA and becoming rich so quickly to the point of sending cars home. It was later I found out that my friend was involved in several fraudulent activities, ranging from drug trafficking to marriage scams, car theft, and human trafficking. I also have a close relative who traveled to south Africa, stayed there for like 2/3 years before moving to Malaysia. He wrote jamb 5 times without passing and his friends in Malaysia insisted he must travel first to southy before joining them in Malay. After going to Southy as they do call it, he started sending money and things home and he exploded more when he got to Malay |
Foreign Affairs › Re: South African Anti-Immigrant Group Orders Nigerian Man To Close His Car Wash Biz by emmaodet: 5:21pm On May 23 |
IamPatriotic: ....but how person go pay for his international passport, visa fees, and air ticket and go another man's country and ended up as a car washers, what happens to doing that in Nigeria? Standard of living. A washed car for #2,000 may cost #7,000 or more in south Africa due to higher standard of living and currency difference. So washing 50 cars in south Africa would have earned you more income that you can send the excess back home to Nigeria to develop your area |

emmanuelewumi: The 20 Most Illiquid Stocks on the NGX as at May 15, 2026 and Why This Matters More Than Returns
Let me tell you something nobody is saying loudly enough right now.
The NGX has been on fire. Stocks up 40%, 70%, even more. People are excited and honestly, they should be. A bull run is a beautiful thing.
But there is a quiet danger hiding inside this excitement.
And it is called illiquidity.
Here is what illiquidity means in plain English: you can buy the stock today. You can watch the price go up. You can do the maths and feel rich on paper. But when the day comes that you need your money, when life happens, or the market turns, you cannot find anyone to buy it from you.
You are stuck.
That is not an investment. That is a trap with a nice-looking chart.
So I pulled the data.
Based on trading activity on 15 May 2026, these 20 stocks recorded the lowest trading volumes or zero activity on the entire NGX:
1. AFRINSURE 2. AFROMEDIA 3. AVAIF 4. BAPLC 5. EKOCORP 6. GOLDBREW 7. MOFIREIF 8. MULTITREX 9. JULI – 10. GEREGU (Geregu Power) 11. INFINITY 12. CNIF 13. CHELLARAM 14. MORISON 15. MULTIVERSE 16. ACADEMY 17. LIVINGTRUST 18. BETAGLAS m 19. ENAMELWA 20. NCR or similar thin names like AUSTINLAZ / others with under ~100k–few hundred k volume (exact ordering can vary slightly by source, but these consistently rank low).
Now let me be fair.
Some of these companies have solid fundamentals. Some may even deliver decent returns over time. This is not a list of bad companies.
But fundamentals alone do not protect you if you cannot exit.
Before you buy any stock , any stock at all , ask yourself one question:
“If I need to sell this tomorrow, will there be a buyer on the other side?”
Most investors obsess over buying. They research the price, the sector, the growth story. All of that matters.
But the experienced investor knows that entering a trade is the easy part.
Exiting is where the real skill lives.
Because in the stock market, it is not a profit until you can actually spend it.
Volumes shift frequently. Always do your own research before making any investment decision. I totally agree with you |
