FlamingBulb: If you have tried to help someone and they are not helping the matter is a different thing. But if you are capable of helping a brother/friend with let say a car to start Uber, few mil to strt up a business, professional course to hlp dem with better jobs knowing well dey are responsible and capable or jobs opportunity but refused instead dashing 20k helping them add up to complete rent to me is not help. Easier said than done. Wait until you are rendering these help before you will realize how lazy the average person is. How many of them even want to do business? How many have taken their time to go and learn a trade you can invest in for them? Mechanics/electrician/ barbing etc. most won't They will tell you they are graduates and looking for work. They will even hate you for recommending such shitty jobs to them. Start Uber? that they will drive after a month and stop claiming mechanical breakdowns, police estortions etc Professional courses? You want to know the BITTER TRUTH? No one can help you until something forces you to - a break up, mockery of your poverty and lookdown, insults are things that are meant to trigger and challenge you to come out of your comfort zone. Without it, anyone helping is just risking it. It is a risky investment. |

ireke: My opinion to things like this is that regret should come if it wants to come. If I have been warning someone with tears since I was barely 20 and they refused to yield to common sense, I can not kill myself over them if they have not made sense of their life after 30 years. I have helped a lot, I may and would still help, but I've really grown beyond people trying to use their poverty to blackmail me. Not even death scares me. All of us have to die at some point. Gbam!!! Don't mind them. Every time Help, Help, Help Help wey no dey gree finish. And the Op. of this thread. Why did he use Osimhen as an example? That is a billionaire and can easily help 20 family and friends with 200m over a 5 years period at an average of 40m per year/ 10m per 4 people. How many of the so called family members we are even going to meet for help are rich enough to cater for their own sef first? Someone is not staying in a duplex, not using a brand new car, his kids are just going to average schools of 100/150k per term, no be say e dey go vacation steady every year yet you are crying for Help up and down claiming such a person is wicked. Is that not craziness and entitlement? You see person wey still be tenant, dey use naija used car or tokunbo. What kind of help do you think such a person can really render kwanu? And when you imagine such Help cryers are atleast 10 around you as family members and friends. Where do you actually want to start from sef? |

Mariangeles: If you're a mother, never ever give your child out to anyone, in the name of hardship/poverty.
It is better to be frying akara by the roadside, with your child(ren) helping you, than to give your child out to another person.
Giving your child out is a grave offense against that child. You have no excuse. You have already betrayed that child by doing that. Life can happen to anyone. What if the mother of the kids die, won't the children be raised by another woman? I think this woman is mentally unstable. We take mental illness for granted in this part of the world |

Politics › Re: IMF Asks Tinubu To Impose Fuel, Telecom Taxes On Nigerians by emmaodet: 6:37am On Jun 15 |
@ nairalanda1 Our budget this year is: 68 trillion naira
Actual revenue available to fund this budget is : 33 trillion naira Deficit: 35 trillion naira...and to cover that deficit, that is where the loans come in. Nigeria has had this deficit problem for decades. Everytime earnings do not meet up with the budget, meaning we have to borrow. This is because of the fact that we rely on resources WHOSE PRICES WE DO NOT SET. We cannot set oil above the international price to fund our budget because our buyers will go and meet the cheaper option And the 68 trillion naira is not enough for a nation of 230 million people. With the points you have highlighted, don't you think it is wiser to live within our means? rather than constantly borrowing to keep up the jonnes? Who spends more than what he earns if not a fuuulish person. |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Has Oil With No Electricity Due To FG's Stupid Policy - Kemi Bednoch by emmaodet: 10:45am On Jun 14 |
SeaTrade: Nigeria's large heart is the reason for the rot. Let me tell you what I'd have done: 1)I'd not subsidise any form of energy, electricity, gas, diesel ,etc from the get go. You want energy?you pay!
2) There's hardly a country in Africa that has built as much roads as Nigeria, however because everyone was allowed to run amock in the name of hustle,it bastardised all the roads that were built. I'd introduce a weigh system across all highways and whoever exceeds their given load capacity pays an instant fine to the government. This money will be used for road maintenance.
There's emergency services, however people just can't afford them because they can't even buy proper health insurance for themselves, let alone pay for such services.Same like in the US amongst poor neighborhoods. There's hardly a country in Africa that has built as much roads as Nigeria How true is this? |

WriterrNg: ⚡During the US attack on Iran tonight, the United States lost 2 highly sophisticated MQ-9 Reaper drones over Iranian airspace, with their combined value estimated $80 million. But it doesn't really make sense. You lost an apache and decided to take revenge by attacking back all for you to even lose more reaper drones, soldiers, more destroyed bases. The maths is not making sense |

The girl is from Imo
She is made. She would recoup her entire school fees on or before the end of this year. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: “I Was Disqualified Because I Didn’t Have Bum-bum” – Abuja Job Seeker Laments by emmaodet: 6:25am On Jun 09 |
pansophist: The interviewer no sabi
You can observe someone’s yansh without them knowing that you’re observing their yansh, and that their yansh is a criteria for employment.
They made it so obvious that yansh is a qualification, to the extent that the jobseekers knew and can use it for content or bully them online like this.
The sad truth here is that in many work place, beauty, height, yansh circumference, diction, dentition, mannerism and general aura are shadow qualifying criteria, not spoken about but played a huge role.
Sorry, Welcome to the real world where pretext, smokescreen, and euphemism is the game.
I am sure they gave a palatable reason for their rejection, and not because your yansh disqualified you lol.
Finally employers are learning from women. Them go reject a good guy because he is short, when in reality it’s because he doesn’t have money |
