SportsSuwon: Dream Team Finally Win A Game by Emmatdayo(op): 10:09am On Jun 06, 2016
The U-23 Dream team have finally won a game in the on going Suwon invitational tournament after coming from behind to defeat Honduras 3 – 1 in a very tight game.
Coach Samson Siasia rang the changes in the team that lost 6 – 2 to Denmark on Saturday with the first XI being: Yusuf, Ndifreke, Saturday, Obanor, Amuzie, Usman, Azubuike, Saviour, Popoola, Abdulrahman, Awoniyi.

Hunduras started the match better and almost went ahead in the fifth minute but Anthony Lopez could not put the ball in the net with a header.

Alber Elis scored in the 17th minute for the Central Americans. The Americans went into the break with the lead.

Taiwo Awoniyi was brought off for Dimgba which was the turning point in the match as Captain Azubuike Okechukwu equalized for Nigeria in the 61st minute.

Nigeria’s persistence finally paid off in the 69th minute as Godwin Saviour scored from the spot after Ndifreke was fouled in the penalty box.

In the 74th minute, Ekpai came in for Saviour and Sincere came in for Popoola.

In the 85th minute, Siasia favorite Oduwa came in for Abdulrahman while Tiongoli came in for Usman as Nigeria looked to hold unto the 2 – 1 lead.

There was more to come as Saturday scored probably the goal of the tournament as he beat Honduras goalie Fonseca in goal from the center of the pitch.

The match ended 3 – 1 in favour of the Dream Team which would come as a relief for the team who lost 1 – 0 to South Korea in their tournament opener and were embarrassed 6 – 2 by Denmark.

PoliticsMASSOB, BIM Appeal To UN To Divide Nigeria by Emmatdayo(op): 8:39am On Jun 06, 2016
Two pro-Biafra groups have appealed to the United Nations and other world leaders to divide Nigeria into six geo-political zones to solve the current crisis.

Movement for Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) stated that giving the six geo-political zones in Nigeria self rule would be the only answer to the many problems in the country.

MASSOB alongside with Biafra Independence Movement (BIM) called on the UN and other super powers to regard the lives of people that are killed on a daily basis in Nigeria arising from the insurgency in the north east and Fulani herdsmen said to be reportedly affiliated to ISIS and Boko Haram.

Chris Mocha, the spokesman, said the proposed nations comprise South East, (Biafra), South South (Niger Delta), North East, North West, South West, (Oduduwa) and North- Central.

He underlined that no amount of preaching on nationalism can change Nigeria as it is today.

Mocha added that when the proposed zones are given independence, assets of the citizens of the different countries will be protected by international laws, just as mutual agreements will guide the future relationship of the new republics.

Meanwhile, the group insisted that several of their supporters were killed last week during the Biafra anniversary at Nkpor and Onitsha.

It said: “While all the members of BIM/ MASSOB in Anambra central senatorial district including Nkpor town in Idemili North Local Government Area celebrated at Ifite Dunu, our counterparts in Anambra North including Onitsha converged at the zonal secretariat, project site at Nteje in Oyi council area of Anambra state.”

The Biafra remembrance day celebration in honour of the Biafra fallen heroes who died during the Biafra/ Nigeria civil war of 1967 to 1970 and those who died during a peaceful protest and evangelism in Anambra, Aba Abia, Rivers and Delta states, turned bloody on May 30 in Onitsha, as the military, police, members of Indigenous People of Biafra clashed, killing over 30 people and injuring several others.

As humans, its not everything we gets or seeks for benefits.

There are some things we do whose benefits doesn't come at that moment but comes in double in future, this competition is one of such.

The competition is all for fun, adding a little fun to our being on Nairaland isn't supposed to be a bad thing.

I'm not benefiting anything in asking for your support and vote, but what it brings to my heart is far above every benefits, that's happiness. happy that I'm voluntarily helping a fellow human win a competition, this path is also where I wish you would follow.

But don't get me wrong here, you can seek for benefits elsewhere if you feel your support and vote most be given not for free but for material or cash reward.
ok

SportsBREAKING: CAF Bans Chris Giwa For 5 Years by Emmatdayo(op): 2:56pm On May 27, 2016
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has place a five-year ban on embattled Chris Giwa and four others of his disciples, hence validating the earlier sanction by the Amaju Pinnick- led Nigeria Football Federation.

The four others affected by the continental ban are Muazu Suleyman, Yahaya Adama, Sani Fema and Johnson Effiong. The quintet have been banned from all football-related activity for five years with immediate effect, Vanguard reports.

In a letter signed by CAF’s Secretary -General, Hicham El Amrani and dated May 27, 2016 and copied to NFF’s President Amaju Pinnick, the letter stated that the ban forbids them from all football related activities for 5 years.

it is shameful to hear statements like *shey na Buhari be this or that* very shameful. Shey na Goodluck the bomb from Sambisa or na him bring Ebola come Nigeria. Smh for zombies like you. If the President can't be held responsible for events in his country, then no need to have him/her there. For Eg, Nigeria has no president at the moment because that is how the situation is.
Wailers will always find funny ways to castigate, u better state praying for a better nigeria, and stop wailing, if not na hypertension go kill u oo, and no body will notice u have gone grin
