Anybody wants to know the real problem of Nigeria? Poor human resources overall,as I will always argue, and not leaders alone.

Even before asking AI I knew this is likely fake news because it is too personalised. No nation will begin to announce publicly why they rejected anothers nations ambassadorial nominee let alone be mentioning "erratic behaviour" etal. That is not how international diplomacy and relations work.

No way this is how rejection of FFK, even if true, will be penned. The wording betrays mischievous intention meant is to spark jubilation in those who are naturally hateful and predisposed to celebrating the 'downfall' of others.

Likely the work of haters of FFK and Tinubu to provide 'food' for an unthinking and emotional masses.

Sad reality is that Nigeria will not improve greatly if her educated class are not of the productively inquisitive, research-driven and problem-solving variety.

This is another loan.
All foreign loans should stop.
It appears as if there are a few people in the federal government, and the lending institution who get commissions from these loans.
When the federal government takes external loans, they indirectly take money from the general Nigerian population through multiple/increased taxation, and excessive inflation.

PoliticsJagaban Selective Government In 4 Year. by emmi14(op): 5:57am On Mar 12
Imagine, for a moment, that Peter Obi became President of Nigeria.

And imagine that the architecture of his government looked like this:

President – Igbo
Chief Justice – Igbo
EFCC Chairman – Igbo
DSS Director-General – Igbo
IGP – Igbo
Attorney General – Igbo
Finance Minister – Igbo
Accountant General of the Federation – Igbo
Auditor General of the Federation – Igbo
NNPC GMD – Igbo
NAFDAC DG – Igbo
Chief of Army Staff – Igbo
CBN Governor – Igbo
FIRS Chairman – Igbo
INEC Chairman – Igbo
Comptroller-General of Immigration – Igbo
NPA Managing Director – Igbo

Let’s not pretend.

Nigeria would be on fire.

Prime-time outrage. Emergency town halls. Sermons on “marginalisation.” Hashtags about ethnic capture. Analysts warning of “national disintegration.” Political leaders threatening constitutional crises.

Even if — and this is important — every single one of those appointees were the most qualified, most competent, most incorruptible Nigerians available.

The same people who today preach “merit” would suddenly rediscover “federal character.”
The same voices that shout “competence over tribe” would begin to whisper “balance for stability.”
The same defenders of concentration of power would become apostles of inclusion overnight.

And here is the uncomfortable truth: many of us — including people from my own region — would lose our minds.

Not because the system would suddenly become unjust.
But because, for once, we would not be the ones benefiting from the imbalance.

That is Nigeria’s hypocrisy laid bare.

We tolerate domination when it favours us.
We intellectualise exclusion when it advantages our bloc.
We spiritualise injustice when it serves our interests.
But the moment the ethnic tables turn, we discover the Constitution.

This is not about one man. It is not even about one ethnic group. It is about our collective dishonesty.

If we would scream under a hypothetical Igbo-dominated government, then we must interrogate our silence — or our applause — under any other lopsided arrangement.

Justice is not justice only when it protects us.
Equity is not equity only when we are excluded.
Federal character is not a decorative clause in the Constitution; it is a moral test of our sincerity as a federation.

Nigeria cannot survive selective outrage.

If balance matters, it must matter always.
If merit matters, it must matter universally.
If national unity matters, it cannot be conditional.

The real question is not, “What if Obi did this?”

The real question is:
Are we committed to fairness — or only to advantage?

grandstar:
What OBJ inherited was heaven compared to what Tinubu took off from.

On a scale of 1 to 10, OBJ inherited 4, while Tinubu inherited 11!

Abacha actually was super prudent with spending, so he could siphon plenty of it away. In 1995 and 1996, there were even budget surpluses. He increased the foreign reserves from $500m he inherited in 1993 to $8bn in 1998 when he died in office. It was Abdulsalaam and his boys who took over from him that were reckless, because they wanted to chop as much as possible before they left office. So, OBJ just had to deal with just one year of recklessness.

Tinubu inherited a complete utter mess. The foreign reserves could only cover 1 month worth of imports, rather than the minimum of 4 months. 97% of government spending was going towards debt.

In 1999, when OBJ assumed office, Nigeria imports were $4.5bn. The foreign reserves were $5.4bn -This could cover over 1 year of imports. Also, 38% of government revenue was used to service debt.

In 2023, Nigeria's imports were $49bn. The foreign reserves were $3.99bn. This could not even cover 1 month. It was the shortage of dollars that sent GSK and other multinationals out of Nigeria. They couldn't cope.

Tinubu: Just imagine your salary is 1m and by the time you service your debt, you're left with 30,000
OBJ: If salary was N1m, by th time debt was serviced, you're left with 6200,000.

This shows you the severity of the economic crisis the nation was in.

The two are not the same at all. Buhari had totally destroyed the economy and that was why people were japa in droves. The economy had collapsed due to chronic economic mismanagement.

Tinubu is mending the economy. Okonjo Iweala has said the Nigerian economy is stabilising. Lamido Sanusi and Charles Soludo also praised the reforms. All 3 are economist who are best able to give professional statements.

Today, less than 50% of government revenue is spent on debt servicing. The net foreign reserves is now over $25bn and can cover at least 6 months worth of imports, So, things are improving,

I don't support a lot of his borrowing but his economic reforms have brought the economy back from the abyss.

If a “first-class accountant” can’t balance a national economy, maybe we need to audit the certificate first.

Because when the books refuse to balance, people start asking questions - Like where is the subsidy savings?

As someone would say — grades are one thing… results are another.
Nairaland GeneralScore Cards Of PDP And APC by emmi14(op): 7:11am On Feb 24
‎Pres Tinubu started strategizing from day one. Dismantling the opposition, intimidating Governor's into submission, whipping the judiciary into line, subduing the National Assembly into servitude and recalibrating the electoral umpire INEC.

‎He never slept from day one, after he was declared winner , he rather set sail immediately in preparation for 2027.

‎It is alleged that his chief of staff has the responsibility of pulling the institutional hit , the NSA pulls the individuals hit and the Chairman APC Governors forum pulls the state executives hit .

‎In other words The chief of staff handles the National Assembly and Judiciary, The Chairman Governors forum brings state Governors under the broom while the NSA handles any irritant person raising an ugly head.

‎Wike as alleged by Gov Makinde volunteered to do the work of destabilizing PDP , the once major opposition party which has now become a shadow of its former self, thanks to Wike. He is being Supervised by the chief of staff and provided every help he needs to execute this job as rumoured. This is the only way he maintains his relevance despite all baggages surrounding him.

‎This is the politics of Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu. An astute politician, but a poor administrator. As a politician , president Tinubu has done excellently well , but has failed woefully as a leader. 3 years wasted on politics with no visible and traceable plan to improve the Nation. it has never happened before since the begining of the 4th Republic.

‎If you compare Pres Tinubu and APCs 3 years with the first 3 years of his last 2 PDP Predecessors , the difference is staggering and clear.

‎President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua came with the 7 point Agenda and it was trackable. He wanted to make Nigeria one of the world's top 20 economies. So he chose seven specific areas to fix

‎1 . Power & Energy: Fixing electricity so businesses could run.

‎2. Food Security: Making sure Nigeria could feed itself.

‎3. Wealth Creation: Focused on jobs and helping people start businesses.

‎4. Transport: Fixing roads and railways.

‎5. Land Reform: Making it easier for people to own and use land for wealth.

‎6. Security: Ending the crisis in the Niger Delta (which led to the Amnesty Program).

‎7. Education: Improving schools and training

‎Though he didn't live long enough to achieve all , but within two years of his administration he achieved nearly 70% of his agenda. Crosscheck the list by yourself and be the judge.

‎Then came Goodluck Jonathan with his 3Rs and Transformation Agenda . His approach to the economy was very simple , 👉Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, and Reconciliation.

‎He focused on 👉 Reconstructing the railways and airports. 👉Rehabilitating old systems like the power sector (privatization). And 👉Reconciling the country through democratic reforms and the 2014 National Conference.

‎And all these were easy to track. He developed a transformation scorecard where the government published exactly how many kilometers of rail were laid or how many bags of fertilizer were distributed to farmers.

‎Nigeria became the largest economy in Africa during Goodluck Jonathan's presidency. Nigeria’s GDP nearly doubled , jumping from about $270 billion to $510 billion. This pushed Nigeria ahead of South Africa to become the number 1 economy on the continent and the 26th largest in the world.

‎Sadly this was destroyed by APC immediately that incompetent and clueless man Buhari came in and prioritized cow over humans.

‎Fast forward to 2023, president Tinubu came with what he called 8 point agenda under his Renewed hope banner.

‎1. Food Security: Tackling hunger by making sure food is available and affordable. This includes supporting farmers and protecting them from attacks so they can go back to their farms.

‎2. Poverty Eradication: Moving people out of extreme poverty through social welfare programs and direct support for the most vulnerable Nigerians.

‎3. Growth and Job Creation: Aiming to grow the economy and create millions of jobs, especially for the youth, in sectors like the digital economy and manufacturing.

‎4. Access to Capital: Making it easier for people and small businesses to get loans. A key part of this is the Student Loan Scheme and providing consumer credit for everyday Nigerians.

‎5. Inclusion: Ensuring that women, young people, and people with disabilities are not left behind in government appointments and economic opportunities.

‎6. Security: Using better technology and better-trained security forces to stop kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism so that businesses can thrive.

‎7. Rule of Law: Strengthening the justice system so that everyone, including the government, follows the law, making Nigeria more attractive to foreign investors.

‎8. Fighting Corruption: Cleaning up how the government spends money and stopping leakages (theft of public funds) through transparency and digital tracking

‎None has been achieved , Not even half . instead the situation has been worsened.

‎Unlike Yar'Adua and Jonathan, Tinubu started by removing the fuel subsidy and floating the Naira. While his 8 point agenda exists on paper, the daily struggle with inflation and the high cost of living makes his blueprint invisible to the average person. There is also a lack of clear targets. Yar'Adua had Vision 2020 but Tinubu’s plan is basically reactive , fixing the problems caused by his own initial reforms, rather than a steady build up.

‎Mind u , Both Jonathan and Yar'Adua recruited the best brains like Dr Ngozi okonjo iweala, Sanusi lamido Sanusi, Dr Akinwuni Adesina, Dr Oby Ezekwesili, Dr Dora Akunyili etc. Even the senate was led by an astute administrator Gen David Mark.

‎But what are we seeing today ? We see dull brains , crude , Nasty and Noisy personalities like Nyesom Wike . The other ministers , nobody even knows them. The senate is being led by a Notoriously unserious fellow like Akpabio.

‎Truth be told , President Tinubu has performed abysmally and this is a constructive criticism. If he couldn't accomplish even one of his 8 point agenda in 3 years , is it an extra 4 years that he will accomplish it 🤷 . Be the judge .

‎We must learn a lesson

‎Peace and love
