Investment / Re: . by emmy43(m): 12:02am On Jan 12, 2021
Tip101:
So late last year, around 28th of December, I heard about an investment platform with the name “StudentsWallets”. After that, I tried doing a little digging/verification on them and then realized, I couldn’t get anything except their Facebook page. I scrolled through, trying to read about them, but little was made known, only jokes and few stories that looks like “testimonies”. But I wasn’t convinced about that and still had my doubts regarding them, but still I decided to figure things out myself.

So I got on their website, took my time to read the terms and conditions and see how it goes. So I invested N100,000 in N60,000 (being the maximum for a wallet) and then another N40,000. According to the “Terms and Conditions”, the deposit was supposed to be approved 48hours max, but till now, it’s still pending, after having submitted all necessary details.

A week after I made the deposit, I decided to log in to my accounts and to my greatest surprise, both deposits were still pending. So I decided to go to their Facebook page to make a complain about that, but then realized, your messages would have to be approved by one of the admins for it to be visible to others, but the crazy part was, it never got approved so it wasn’t posted on the page. So I chose to use the reply button instead by replying to one of the posts made by one of the admins and then got off Facebook because I don’t even get on there anymore until this whole issue. So the next day, I got on Facebook to see if I got any reply from them, but to my surprise, I had been removed from the group, instead of getting a reply. That really got me mad, like how would you do that to someone who invested in your company Someone made complaints severally, but none of you replied or fixed the issue and instead of replying to him, you chose to block him from accessing the page. Like is that how you treat your investors? So I was convinced there were others like me also that were treated the same way. So I chose to send a direct message to all those with the “admin” tag on their posts, but only one of them replied, all others chose not to. I tried chatting the admins on WhatsApp also, but none still replied.

So I explained all what happened to the one that replied me on Facebook and told him that “I want out” of the platform because I lost faith already. He tried begging me and tried convincing, promising to link me up with someone that can help, so he gave me a number and said I should call the person. I did as said and called the person, told him I want a refund and that I was done with the platform. He said ok, asked for the email addresses I used in registering and I gave him and he promised to credit me soon. I waited for days and got nothing only for him to try to convince me not to give up on the system, but I told him I made up my mind already and nothing would ever change that, and to my surprise, instead of getting an alert, he chatted me saying he also isn’t an admin and afterwards, I got a WhatsApp notification that I was added to a group, in the group were others and all they did was make fun of me. I left the group, chatted the guy and told him he just bit more than he could chew and if that was how they have been treating others, mine will be the one they’re going to regret ever doing.

So the reason for all the epistles is this, please, if you are thinking of investing with them, right now is not the best time for that, because there is lawsuit coming their way. Their account will definitely be frozen during the trial, so to avoid any inconvenience, please just put that on hold for now. Thanks!

Before anyone asks why I invested since I couldn’t find anything on their page, well I did because they have a verifiable address.
For those that would say getting a refund is not possible, well I’m sure you read the part I said I read the “Terms and Conditions” well and there was nowhere it says “No Refund”...

NOTE: I have pictures to back up all what I wrote.

I hope the mods can push this to front page so, many people can be aware of this. Lalasticlala, Ishilove, Mukina2, Dominique

You probably did the wrong thing, because many people have been investing with them for over a year now without any issue.. Your lawsuit won't even stop them, you're a bluffer.

President Buhari had now interfered in the issue... Even the Pro-chancellor has been sacked.

It's normal for him to have step down before proper investigation can be carried out over the allegations he is making. It won't be fair for him to be on seat while the committee carry out their investigation. He wasn't sacked nor suspended, he was asked to step down so that it won't be as if he influenced their decision.

That's what he was supposed to do first, now it's too late for him.
Was he supposed to protest, or oppose the decision of the council that employed him in the first place?
Of course setting up pannel doesn't mean they will recall him to be the VC again. Sure They have to listen to him. With his records they can only give him a soft landing. because he probably met some of the allegation as a cultural practices in the system. He can't be absolved of all. The president only did the right thing. So let's wait and see.

Mizflo:
Please I need your advice. I had created this account because I am well known here with my main account because I am always active and I want to remain anonymously.

Am 21 a single mum with 1 girl age 5 , her dad rejected me when I was pregnant he left when I was 4 months pregnant with her .

I had a difficult time growing up , my mum died when I was 8 years and my dad denied me claiming my mum had cheated on him and there’s no way I could be his daughter.

My aunty who was supposed to care for me had never bothered about me , she was always out leaving me in the house all alone without food , whenever I complains she will beat me telling me to go to my mum graveyard to ask her for assistance.

I have suffered in the hand of my aunty she didn’t care about my education if I have managed to complete my primary school till jss2 was thanks to this aunty who was a teacher at my school and a good friend of my mum , she sponsored me , And when I was 14 my aunty landlord kicked her out of the house because of rent arrears she said I am the enemy of progress she cant take me to her boyfriend house because he won’t accept me to stay there that I should go and look for a place , I cried and pleaded with her to take me along with her but she refuse I beg her to show me where my dad is she said he will not accept me because he hated my mum but I beg her to take me to him .

She took me to him it was my first time seeing him I looked just like him with one eye big one small but he insulted the hell out of us saying he will never accept me because my mum was a cheater she had so many boyfriends that I should ask her who my real father is but my aunty insisted that my mum had told her before she passed on that he was my dad even taught I resembled him still he denied and kicked us out like we were dogs I cried and my aunty was angry because of the insult so she left me all alone in the street but later came to me .
Since that day my life situation has worsened because I was forced to stay with different people where I was being abused , my baby dad came as a guardian angel to my life he took care of everything i needed by promising me heaven on Earth I taught he will get me out of my hard situations but I was wrong i find out he was married with kids I was heartbroken because I didn’t want to live the same lifestyle as my mum had lived but history has repeated itself just like my mother had me with a married man but she knew he was married but me I didn’t know , but it was too late for me to moved on because I was already pregnant for him and I didn’t want to abort my baby I have decide to continue the relationship but when I was 4 months pregnant he left me and blocked me from all his contacts , this is the man that has never bothered to asked about his child for 5 years now..

My little girl dont even know her dad the same way I did not know mine until
I was 14 which break my heart anytime I think about it.

My daughter and I are staying with my madam the lady tat I serve her for now 3 years but things here hasn’t been easy for us because my madam children don’t like me they keep accusing of things I don’t do like I stole their money , clothes and many more before my madam was telling them to stop with their bad attitudes towards me but I have noticed that whenever they had accused me she start getting angry with me sometimes we can go days without her not talking to me which I think I have overstayed and I am not longer wanted here I want to leave this house and to go and hustle but I feared for my daughter because I don’t want her to end up like me.

If I leave this house we will be on the street for a long time till I will be able to get somewhere else to stay with her also I don’t think I can give her the best education because if she stay with me she will end up being a teen mother just like I did something I don’t want to happen to her and I came across someone who’s willing to help me by taking care of my daughter to give her the best life something that I have always wanted for her , she promised to take care of her till university and she will give me the money to rent a room and start up business she said she will take things to the right direction like adoption but I don’t know how she will do it because I have no idea that I will have to sign up papers for agreement i have agreed because I think is really a good opportunity for me even taught I have accepted but sometimes I am getting worried about giving her my daughter I am having sleepless nights and thinking all nights.

I am just tired of living this life I didn’t ask to be born my parents created me and now I am suffering from their mistakes something I didn’t consented and I don’t want my daughter to suffer because of my mistake I think giving her up for adoption is a good thing , but I don’t know if I am doing the right things.

please no insult what is your advice for me.

Thanks

Well, whatever you are going through now, just know that a good number of people have gone through that and they survived, today they look back and tell their stories as a victor.

I don't want to sound preachy. But I know We all are given free will by our creator so that we can make choices in life.
Hence, we become the product of all the choices we made.
God will not come to u when u have the choice and free will to go to Him. This is no time to be frustrated nor confused.
You may have been a product of bad choices. Yet u still have the opportunity to Make the right choice NOW! in as much as u still have life in you.
In a nutshell, there can be no better choice than realising u have a maker and being right with your maker....
PLS don't let this continue. Keep your daughter with u and look for a Church.

I know your solution has come. God be with U!

At least far better than the former vice chancellor from what I hear

Babalakin has made a mistake
And this will not end well.

As for Soyombo....
All I'll say is....
I'm sorry for him
How will you preside over a Senate that is against you and still sympathetic to the other VC?

If I were him
I would rather not take that position

Don't worry just wait maybe they will comply or not... The governing council decision supercede every other personal and selfish interest... Just watch before next week end there would be filtration and compliance...

Only a stupid person like Wale Babalakin, removes a V.C first and then come out two days later to say "the same V.C must be INVESTIGATED"!
You investigate first, conclude and issue a report based on your investigation, before removing the V.C

As for Soyombo, he better not allow him to be a cannon foder, to be used by Babalakin.
If it is not yet your time to be V.C and you want to usurp the role of Ogundipe, you will end up disgracing yourself.
Proff. Ogundipe remains the V.C of Unilag. End of story.

He has to be remove before proper investigation can be carried out. He has already been indicted and he was not able to defend himself. Read the comments of Babalakin very well. That's the picture of what is happening on campus. He is a SAN and of course he knows whats obtainable. All those people that seems to be supporting the vc are gradually withdrawing already... His time is up. Pride won't allow him bow out easily probably because he has other strong political backing that has been benefiting from his looting...all the staff of the University are not ignorant of this.

My Bros, is Dr Babalakin the owner of the school? There are extant rule that govern the institution! Chairman of the council is just ceremonial head, VC of every university is the President and CEO of such institution. Despite he was council chairman does not have power to interfere in day to day running of the institution, he can intervene base on lay down condition well spell out in the extant rules. Mind you he was appointed by President of the nation in consultation to other necessary interest group. Babalakin is above anybody in that community so he should be accountable to everybody!

His is only the chairman of the council. The decision of the council is what prevail. And that was in accordance with the law. It's not about Babalakin.

If Babalakin was doing wrong, do u think it would be difficult to expose him? Especially with ASUU members against him. They couldn't find anything against him. They only see him as someone that has come to spoil their show of corruption for them. That's why they are all crying wolf...
Or do u think ASUU takes sides with what doesn't benefit them? Or don't u know ASUU is absolutely corrupt?..

I'm a student, please can you lecture me on the sanity Babalakin is trying to bring, because so far this is the only VC that has related well with students. If Ogundipe was the VC in 2016, the last protest wouldn't have occurred. Your response would go a long way.

Being a vc is beyond relating well with student my guy... The pro chancellor and registrar are fighting for the interest of the common staff of the institution that are not ASUU members... That has been made obvious with the report from one council meeting held some months back where he was asked to explained how some funds were spent which he could not account .

To worsen the whole thing they tried to bribe the registrar to join them giving him over 25million which he decline and questioned the source. That also brought about series of investigations and and tensions since then. The ASUU members are only pushing him they can't sustain him. The altrocity is obvious.
Forget about how he relates with student or what he did. That becomes inconsequential when it comes to accountability as a leader.
I'm privy to this because I'm a staff of the institution.

Governing Council rarely removes a V.C, except in cases of obvious GROSS MISCONDUCT and financial impropriety but most for Poitical reasons.

I recall when some Aboki banded together to remove Mrs Grace Alele Williams, as the VC of UniBen. They just cant fathom th eidea that a woman was the VC of a federal University! undecided
Though, unlike the Wale Babalakin nonsense, she was given the opportunity to defend herself and due process was followed but she eventually survived the plot.

I think Wale Babalakin wants to do something at Unilag, that the V.C refused to aceed to, so he wants to replace him with a pliant person as VC. Likely a Contract issue or he wants an increase in tuition fees or something like that
The fact that only Seven, out of Twelve voted for this removal and it was done in Abuja, as against the Council Chambers in the institution, speaks volumes!
Can that happen at his private University, can they remove him as VC, without due process, if at all?
U thought so wrong brother. The VC is absolutely and obviously corrupt. Only the real staff member can attest. ASUU is bound to take his side because they are accomplices.

PLS save your ignorance!

Like I said earlier in a related thread; the fact that the removal of prof. Ogundipe as the VC and the subsequent installation of another prof. took place in Abuja shows that that something is not right.

I believe that the removal of prof. Ogundipe is a witch-hunt maybe from the governing council or a higher political figure. whichever way, it is a disgrace to the members of the council and the Senate of the institution.

I think the university union supports the former VC; if they do, this will be another problem for unilag coz the Union will definitely embark on series of strike. And as usual, the students will be the victim.

shame on these politicians parading themselves as academics and shame of the NUC for aiding and abetting such delirious act.

Family / Re: How Guys Use Marriage To Plunge Themselves Into Perpetual Poverty. by emmy43(m): 3:02pm On Jul 21, 2020
Poseidon000:
Sup guys. I've something that have always earned the acme of my discountenance. And that's how men crudely jump into marriage in other to conform to societal dictate or for some selfish satisfaction.
This have gotten me pensive and I'll make no ado in getting to the nucleus of the issue.

Yesterday, I was headed toward gwarimpa, and on my way I noticed a disheveled young guy around Efab estate trekking by the express.
As a rule, I always give such guys 'lift,' because i was once with a female colleague in a lonely path that seldom have cars coming our way, suddenly one private car stopped and when I tried entering after my female colleague boarded, the SIMPson bounced me out and zoomed off with an empty back seat.

That incident birthed in me a sense of solidarity and understanding of what men go through just for being men, but yesterday, I was so incensed by a botch job my mechanic did that I drove past. After about 4 hours when I had everything sorted and was heading back, I saw the same guy heading toward my direction again(it's a dual carriage way) and he was sweating profusely, so I beckoned on him to enter. We got talking and I inquired why he's trekking such a long distance. He said: he went to look for a job that wasn't successful and he's going back to Arab road.
But this is just a miniscule of the guy's travail. He grew up in abject poverty. In fact, they gave birth to him and his sister in an uncompleted building. His dad died in that building, his sister got pregnant for some riffraff and they started what we call "abuja marriage", his mom subsequently fell sick and died in the same uncompleted building. Then the owner of the building decided to complete it, and drove him away.

Now, this guy was able to get another uncompleted building to stay, and as I'm typing this, he's with wife and kids. This is a person that don't have food at home and can not afford N150 to and fro.

I gave him 10k but I was so mad with him; I mean, I was disconcertingly appalled that this guy will think of marriage in his privation. Why not be a little bit comfortable before considering marriage, instead to face life with the dignity of a breadline.

Sadly, this is the same mistake lot of guy's have been making thinking they'll fall into some stupendous money as soon as they marry, and this is mostly perpetuated by religious charlatans who say; a man's destiny is predicated on his future wife, that as soon as he gets married, the special blessing tied to marriage will start opening way for him.

That's a mendacious twaddle that will leave you in a precarious situation. Please guys, have 'comfort' afoot before you dabble into marriage.

What's your take on this?

Brother, marriage or not, a man without vision is likely to be poor in life.
Many young unmarried guys are living a miserable life already. Clueless of what to do. Some just alleviated themselves by going into all dubious means to get wealth (yahoo and so on) that's a proof marriage is not responsible for anyone's predicament.
