How do you know most state users can't pay? I put it to you that they are paying just as much in electricity bills as other neighborhoods in Lagos, yet they get far less power supply. Many areas in Nigeria, not Lagos alone are ready to pay for electricity if you give them and have them metered.

My position is, there is no equitable distribution of resources. How do you expect economies in these other states to thrive if you are not even giving them a chance?

The state government of Lagos, a fast expanding metropolis of more than 20 million residents, said it required 6,000 MW of electricity but was receiving only 2,000 MW at most from the grid.

So to speak, Lagos alone presently receives half of the 4000MW electricity the country is generating.

This is why you can find their residents talking about improved power supply, meanwhile the same can not be said of the remaining 35 states of the federation.

Is this equitable? Is this fair?

I would say the government in its entirety is irresponsible. Those were supposed to be private records right? How did they find their way into the public domain?

It's okay to punish the offenders and publicize why they were punished. But leaking the videos is all shades of wrong.
