The question on every body lips is which criteria are they going to implore in the selection. From all the comments so far, some people were asked so many questions while others where not even asked anything. In Kogi, they were asking us "primary school questions" eg what is your name, what is ur local government, are you computer literate? Etc. This are the questions that anybody can answer. I was even confused the person doing the Grading. The officer was not even concentrating, hmm.. I hand everything over to God almighty because he is the only one that av the final say. No matter what they do, i strongly believe i will be among the chosen ones


In another development, my sister that did hers in Kaduna just told me that their controller asked her to do another primary school cert because of the alteration on the result. That she would be called in Abuja and they might not accept the cert.
I am reasoning that there may be another stage in Abuja before the final selection. Going by the happening at the states verification. Are you guys feeling me,,?

I being waiting for their arrival in Lokoja, wanted to give Gloria his partner a pair of rubber converse but they are yet to arrive. Over 3 Hrs now.

They said Kogi has no slot because of qtr system. The number of kogi people is filled already, i don't just understand kogi. AS IF WE ARE THE largest population in the country.

I studied Geography too.. Geography and French I think is automatic no matter your height. Just make sure ur docus are intact.

Make una dey deceive una self. No where its stated that preferences would be given to French and Geography. They only listing course like French, geography, humanity and other courses that relates to Nis in the advertisement

I don't think so. For instance if you have a good conduct they can score you 8 or 9 etc, whereas if the column for financial problem is graded 8, it means you have a serious financial problem. They are grading based on number

What is the use of that financial problem. how would they find out if one has?

KOGI is such a backward state, imagine not even one that did his or hers yesterday can be found in Nairaland. I just shake my head for Kogi peeps. Even the overall shortlisted, we are only three here.?

Did mine in Ibadan. They attended to compass 03 and 06 first before 08. When it was our turn, they gave us one sheet where there are different categories there. You are to only write your names and one code number like that written on your invitation slip (not your NIS application number). The other things there are not yours to fill. One category in the sheet is for physical disabilities, another for credentials (primary,JSCE,SSCE,tertiary.....). There are other categories there too.

For the section of physical disabilities, if you don't have any they will fill 'NIL' for all of them.

They will also take an eye test by writing some alphabets in a slightly distanced place and tell you to read the rows with the smallest alphabet.

They will also measure your height with a scaled wood and measure your chest with a tailor's tape rule.

Then they will check your credentials after then. If you have a particular certificate, the screener will put '1' in the box, if you don't he/she will put '0'. My own screener put 0 after I showed him my primary school testimonial. He said testimonial isn't certificate. Anyway, I had others excluding the JSCE.

Then you will move to another screener that will ask you questions (mostly simple) related to your course. For instance if you studied English they can ask you 'what is prose'? Or if you studied Geography they can ask you 'what is geography or branches of Geography'? E.t.c. If they are satisfied they will write 'Academically sound' in that sheet.

There is also another category in that sheet where your screener will rate your 'Bad conduct', 'financial problem', 'Composure' (I can't remember the last two). They rate those attributes on a scale of 0-9 and give whatever figure they perceive you deserve within that range. If you don't have the attribute they will write '0' there.

Just make sure you don't forget any important documents that you have at home and you dress as stipulated. Shave your beards if you can and don't lose your confidence. Even if you did not meet up with some of the basic requirements, their own job isn't to disqualify you, they will just record their findings. The main shortlisting will be done from the head office. ......Mr. Obua said after the test, successful applicants would be contacted individually and asked to report to designated immigration offices across the country where they would be further examined.

“At this stage, we will do the physical examination to check the height, presence of any physical disabilities and general state of health of applicants to ensure that they are fit to carry out their duties when employed.

“Documents of applicants will also be reviewed during the examination after which successful candidates will be contacted online informing them of their acceptance into the service”, he said.

Applications for recruitment into the NIS which commenced on February 9 closed on March 22.

Go and apply for new one, don't risk it. Be on the safer side. We had similar problem, what i did was to get another medical certificate, and printed the one i submitted. Remain blessed
