Amokachi urges team to stay focused.

Despite being tipped as favourites to win the African Nations Championship (Chan), Nigeria’s Super Eagles have promised not to allow themselves get carried away by the hype of the moment.

Speaking on behalf of the team, assistant coach Daniel Amokachi noted that while fans and pundits are entitled to make predictions,h e believes every team at the tourney is here to win, and as a result his team will not get carried away.

He further promised that the team will put in all their efforts, with the aim of lifting the Chan trophy

"The boss, Stephen Keshi does not believe in quick fix and we don’t either," Amokachi told the players and officials in their first training session at Cape Town on Wednesday evening.

"We must work very hard if we are to take something out of this place and most importantly remain disciplined."

important that the domestic Eagles to win

Championship (Chan) against Mali on

Uzoenyi said, “We are ready for this
tournament and our target is to win one
game after the other until we get to the Final.
“Winning our first game against Mali is very
important. Any team that wants to go far in
any competition should target three points in
the opener but we have to take the games as
they come.
“Hopefully we shall bring home the cup. The fans should pray for us just like they always do and we will win together as we always do,” Uzoenyi added.

The home base super eagles of Nigeria will kick start their maiden campaign for 2014 African Nations Championship CHAN in South Africa when they tackle the Eagles of Mali in the second game of the tournament. Host South Africa will take on Mozambique in the opening match.

In preparation to the tournament, the Eagles won their first test match against Prisons FC of Abuja 4-1, before going on to record 2-0 wins against Niger Tornadoes of Minna and Plateau United of Jos, respectively. The home base eagles later drew 2-2 with the 2013 league champions Kano pillars and wrapped up the preparation by defeating Ethiopia 2-1 in Abuja.

Kick off time is 8pm (Nigerian time)

All matches will be shown live on Super sport.

Embattled Minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah,
and her associates have spent the last several
hours scrambling to clean up the minister’s
biographies on the Internet, following
allegations that she lied about her academic
qualifications, PREMIUM TIMES can report
today.
News website, SaharaReporters, had Monday
quoted authorities at St. Paul’s College, where
Mrs. Oduah claimed she studied for Bachelor
and Masters degrees, as saying they did not
award her an MBA at anytime as the
university does not even have a graduate
school or graduate programme.
The minister is yet to respond to the
allegations. Efforts by PREMIUM TIMES to get
her to comment for this story were
unsuccessful.
Joe Obi, her special assistant on media, did
not answer or return calls.
Yakubu Datti, the spokesperson of the
aviation agencies, who usually speak for her,
said he was not aware of the allegation
against the minister, and that he would revert
after consulting the minister. He is yet to do
so as at the time of publishing this.
However, this newspaper has observed an
attempt by the minister and her aides to
revise her profiles on the web with a view to
cleaning up any reference to St. Paul’s College
in her history.
Already, Mrs. Oduah’s biography on the
website of the Ministry of Aviation has been
revised, with references to St. Paul’s College
now wiped out.

and Masters Degree (in Accounting and
Business Administration respectively) in the
United States,” the new profile said of Mrs.
Oduah’s education, without any reference to
the university she attended.
The Wikipedia page of the ministe r has also
been hurriedly edited, and it now has no
reference to the university Mrs. Oduah
attended.
All links and reference materials on the
Wikipedia page capable of linking the minister
to the university that has disowned her have
also been deleted.
Even the minister’s personal website has
been reviewed to remove any reference to St.
Paul’s College.
While the links leading to Mrs. Oduah’s
foundation and photographs remain active, the
other principal link, which should lead to her
history page, has been deactivated.
It’s unclear whether it was being edited at the
backend when PREMIUM TIMES visited the
site.
Mrs. Oduah had in a resume she presented to
the Senate as a ministerial nominee in 2011
indicated that she obtained a Master’s degree
in Business Administration (MBA) from St.
Paul’s College Lawrenceville, Virginia, United
States.

the college as saying his university had never
in its 125-year history had a graduate school
or graduate program.
The Provost Vice President of Academic
Affairs, and the Vice President of Institutional
Development said in response to the website’s
