Did you clear app data before uninstall and what's your Xender version? Try a downgrade if it's the latest version and vice versa if the reverse is the case.

Forget what you're seeing on YouTube, one was using his Samsung S4 to play GTA V. Can't remember but I think there's a feature that allowed him do that from his PC to phone or PlayStation to phone.

As in, I'm startled at the way they're praising the network when Airtel is breathing fire here not to talk of 9mobile that's lightning here.

Give it a rest for about 5-7Days.
In my case, I used MiFlashUnlock-en-2.2.406.5 to finally unlock the bootloader.
You'll also have to use FLYVPN with Shanghai or Hong-Kong IP on your PC to avoid getting network error on the MiFlash Unlock Tool.

The network was okay and I unlocked in few secs. Flashed TWRP also and I'm now on MIUI 9 beta ROM.

Both have different optimisation methods and that of the system is superior compared to your Itel phone.
Your phone was running with apps in background and I'm sure the system had fewer or no apps running.
Also, I'm pretty sure the RAM size of your system compared to your phone are not the same; say the PC has 2/4GB RAM and your phone has 1/2GB RAM.
If you had an optimiser that killed apps when Screen/display is off, you would have gotten a better RAM percentage.
Inbuilt apps could have also contributed to this.
