Politics / ”Tinubu Dragging Nigerians To Their Grave Through Poverty, Hunger, Insecurity” by ENDTIMEISNEAR: 3:36am On Nov 27, 2023 |
Sule Lamido, a former governor of Jigawa state, has declared that President Bola Tinubu is dragging Nigerians to their grave. Lamido, a former foreign affairs minister, made the comment in an interview with Daily Trust newspaper. Asked about his assessment of the Tinubu administration so far, the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain said: “When he said he would continue from where Buhari stopped, what has he done? When you say you want to continue from where Buhari stopped, where do you start from? “From insecurity, poverty or hunger? Tinubu said he would continue from where Buhari stopped so there would be no distinction. “He said he will continue from where Buhari stopped. What he means is that all of Buhari’s policies on the economy, on security, on corruption and, human rights, and what have you, he will continue, isn’t it? So, it is up to you to assess, not me. “I told you in 2015 election that if they win, Nigeria will lose. Buhari lacked the political sagacity, vision, commitment, and pedigree to answer or explain the issues he was questioned on. “Now, after eight years, Tinubu came and said he would continue from where Buhari stopped. So, the next destination is our grave because the journey has started with a trailer load of poverty, hunger, insecurity, hate, despondency, frustration, pain, agony, and the destination is the grave.” https://politicsnigeria.com/tinubu-dragging-nigerians-to-their-grave-through-poverty-hunger-insecurity-sule-lamido/?utm_source=operamini&utm_medium=feednews&utm_campaign=operamini_feednews

Politics / Breaking : Atiku Urges Pdp, Lp, Nnpp, Sdp, Others To Merge Against Apc ( Pic ) by ENDTIMEISNEAR: 6:40pm On Nov 14, 2023 |
Breaking : Atiku Urges PDP, LP, NNPP, SDP, Others To Merge, Wrestle Power From APC . Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has warned against the likelihood of Nigeria slipping to becoming a one-party state. The former Vice President made the remarks on Tuesday when he hosted the national executive committee of the Inter-Party Advisory Council Nigeria (IPAC). According to the former Vice President, “the project of protecting democracy in our country is not about just one man. “You have come here today to say that we should cooperate in order to promote democracy. “But the truth of the matter is that our democracy is fast becoming a one-party system; and, of course, you know that when we have a one party system, we should just forget about democracy.” Atiku further tasked the leadership of IPAC, led by its national president, Yabagi Sani, on the need for the opposition political parties to come together and create a more formidable front that will salvage Nigeria’s democracy from sliding into a one-party state. “We have all seen how the APC is increasingly turning Nigeria into a dictatorship of one party. If we don’t come together to challenge what the ruling party is trying to create, our democracy will suffer for it, and the consequences of it will affect the generations yet unborn,” Atiku said. He further chided the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting the worst ever general election in the country. “The Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the worst general election in the country. “Recently again in the off-season election in three states, INEC doubled down on its disregard for the tenets of our democracy. “The Independent National Electoral Commission conducted the worst general election in the country. “Recently again in the off-season election in three states, INEC doubled down on its disregard for the tenets of our democracy. We all can see how INEC declared a result in Kogi State where the total number of votes cast is higher than the total number of accredited voters in one local government. “We cannot have a healthy democracy in an environment where all INEC does is to deliver the ruling party at all cost. “That is also why I will urge you all, to appeal to lawmakers of the various opposition parties in the National Assembly to sponsor legislation that will advance the course of the constitutional and electoral reforms agenda that I shared in my recent press conference. The issue of electronic voting must be the urgent priority of the National Assembly because countries that are far less advanced as Nigeria are already doing it. https://www./2023/11/14/just-in-atiku-urges-pdp-lp-nnpp-sdp-others-to-merge-wrestle-power-from-apc/?amp=1 2 Likes

Bernard Mgbar Baridamue, a first-time lawmaker in the Rivers House of Assembly, has stirred public attention with his recent launch of the ‘Bicycle Initiative to Combat Insecurity’ in Ward 9 of the Tai State Constituency in Tai local government area. Baridamue, also the Chairman of the House Committee on Emergency Relief/Special Duties, unveiled the project at Bunu-Tai Town Square. PM News reports that the initiative involves the distribution of bicycles and torchlights as valuable resources to aid the battle against insecurity within the ward. Photos from the event show elders and stakeholders laying hands on the bicycles before they are distributed. The project has elicited mixed reactions from the public, with both criticisms and commendations. Some members of the public find the initiative unacceptable in the 21st century, expressing discontent with the allocation of resources for such projects. Critics argue that the area is peaceful without needing bicycles and torchlights. One Chamberline Kinikanwo labelled the initiative a “disgrace” and called on the people of Tai to reject such projects, emphasizing that there are better ways for lawmakers to contribute to the development of their communities. On the contrary, Prince Sordum Leke commended Baridamue’s initiative as a timely intervention in Bunu-Tai community. Leke argued that considering the high fuel and maintenance costs for vehicles, bicycles offer an economical and sound alternative for local policing. He pointed out that bicycles are quiet, enabling vigilantes to approach criminals discreetly. Leke highlighted the importance of local solutions for local challenges and cited examples from advanced countries where police use bicycles for various functions. He expressed appreciation for Baridamue’s representation and his efforts to address the challenges facing his constituency for the greater good of Rivers State. https://politicsnigeria.com/rivers-state-lawmaker-donates-bicycles-as-security-vehicles-to-combat-insecurity/

Politics / BREAKING : It Is Not Compulsory For Election To Be Held In Imo – NLC ( Pic ) by ENDTIMEISNEAR: 1:54pm On Nov 08, 2023 |
The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has asserted that the upcoming November 11 governorship election in Imo State is not necessarily bound to proceed as scheduled. Uchenna Ekwe, the NLC Head of International Relations, made this declaration during an interview on Channels TV on Wednesday. Ekwe emphasised that the Imo populace has been subjected to relentless violence, rendering the election ineffective. He further stated that Imo workers have lost faith in the election’s ability to bring about any meaningful change. Ekwe questioned, “Talking about the election, in Imo in particular, did the votes count? How did he (Hope Uzodinma) become governor? In Imo, is the place not terrorized?” “Go to Imo I challenge you, you won’t see a poster of any other party, you can’t even see a tiny poster of any other party. Get feedback from your correspondents in Imo, ask them in the whole street on Owerri whether there is a poster of any other party,” he challenged. Ekwe expressed scepticism regarding the prospect of a credible election, citing the disruption of an INEC meeting. He maintained that workers and the general populace have lost confidence in the election’s ability to yield positive outcomes. “How can you say election is coming up, INEC meeting was disrupted, how can you hope that there will be any election, we don’t have faith, even the workers don’t have faith that the election will determine anything, that is the truth,” Ekwe asserted. “We don’t believe election in Imo will produce anything because the Imo people have been crushed, violence have taken over the place. We are not telling them not to come out to vote but the people will be scared to come out,” he added. Ekwe said the world would not crumble if the election did not take place as planned. “Must there be election in Imo, will the world end? Will the world end if there is no election in Imo State? No, the world would not end, we are not disrupting election,” he concluded. https://politicsnigeria.com/breaking-it-is-not-compulsory-for-election-to-be-held-in-imo-nlc/ 1 Like

Politics / “We’ve Become Orphans Under Tinubu” – Another APC Chieftain Laments by ENDTIMEISNEAR: 1:07pm On Oct 31, 2023 |
A former director-general of Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Dr. Salihu Lukman, has accused President Bola Tinubu of allegedly alienating members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his appointments. Lukman, who likened Tinubu to former president Muhammadu Buhari, said APC members have become orphans under Tinubu. In a piece entitled, “Nigerian Politics of Morbid Desire for Naked Power,” the immediate past national vice chairman (North West) of the ruling urged the president to undertake the “moral and spiritual reconstruction” as proposed by one of the nation’s founding fathers, the late Obafemi Awolowo. Expressing the fear that APC would be rendered prostrate under the Tinubu administration, the Kaduna politician restated restoration of orderliness in the party. Lukman claimed that disloyal APC leaders have not only gone unpunished, but some of them reappointed by the current administration. He alleged: “Appointments into governments were or are practically carried out exclusively without consulting either the party organs or leaders, both during the tenure of former President (Muhammadu) Buhari and currently under President Asiwaju Tinubu. “Criteria and qualifications for appointments were or are known only to the two leaders and their close associates. Consequently, party leaders and members became orphans, perhaps worse than when they were in opposition parties,” he added. https://politicsnigeria.com/weve-become-orphans-under-tinubu-another-apc-chieftain-laments/

Politics / Amaechi : Nigerians Vote For Thieves, Certificate Forgers’ [photo] by ENDTIMEISNEAR: 10:58am On Oct 28, 2023 |
Former transport minister, Rotimi Amaechi, has accused Nigerians of voting for corrupt politicians especially thieves and certificate forgers. Amaechi disclosed this while speaking at a recent event in Lagos. The former minister noted that Nigerians know the politicians with history of corruption but choose to support them regardless of their crimes. “What is new to say, Nigerians don’t react to anything. Has any politician told you he is not a thief? Which politician told you he went to university, which politician told you she served in NYSC, and which politician told you he has his certificate? Nigerians know and still vote for them.” The minister had accused President Bola Tinubu’s adviser and former Nigeria Ports Authority boss, Hadiza Bala Usman, of telling unquantifiable lies against him in her book. Politics Nigeria recalls that Amaechi lost to Tinubu during the 2023 APC presidential primary election. https://politicsnigeria.com/amaechi-nigerians-vote-for-thieves-certificate-forgers-video/ 6 Likes
