PoliticsHow Gbajabiamila Was Trapped In Clash Of Interest And Power Tussle Between Remi by enemyofprogress(op): 11:03am On Dec 30, 2025
How Gbajabiamila Was Trapped In Clash Of Interest And Power Tussle Between Remi And Seyi Tinubu

President Tinubu’s chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila is speculated to have fallen out with his principal, resulting in power tussle within the presidency as one powerful group pushed for his sack while the other fought against it– an event that brought to bare the cold war between the Tinubus who are bonded by providence and power, desperately working to arm twist each other to establish control within the Tinubu’s political dynasty.

The tussle plunged president Tinubu into labyrinth of family fight in Aso Rock villa–the Seyi Tinubu’s group and the Remi Tinubu’s united by mutual interest– to exert control or rather influence on the president – a father and a husband respectively; further complicating the ever increasing challenges of presiding over the most populous black nation in the world– a nation plagued with insecurity and economic hardship.

Femi Gbajabiamila has been a disciple of Tinubu, trusted for his unflinching loyalty and honesty to Tinubu and their political comradeship– an identity he bore courageously until the recent bribery allegation which rubbed a taint on their long-age alliance.

According to speculations, Femi Gbajabiamila, the president’s chief of staff betrayed the trust of his principal by reportedly selling appointments into the Tinubu’s government. This allegation was reportedly investigated and he was allegedly found culpable– an act the presidency considered punishable by sack or demotion. Recommendations were made for him to be removed as the president’s chief of staff having allegedly soiled the trust the president had for him. He would be assigned to a ministry to head as a minister while the president’s private secretary, Hakeem Muri-Okunola would be promoted to the president’s chief of staff – Seyi Tinubu, the son of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu is reportedly the proponent of this agenda.

Seyi Tinubu is said to be exploiting Femi Gbajabiamila’s misstep to further his governorship ambition in Lagos. He saw the allegation against Femi Gbajabiamila whom he considers a rival in the Lagos State governorship seat, as an opportunity to pitch his competence and trustworthiness to his father while leveraging Femi Gbajabiamila’s bribery allegation to argue that the former speaker of the house of representatives should not be trusted with the governorship seat of Lagos State– he argues that Gbajabiamila would rebel as Ambode did.

She argued speciously that the president’s outright disengagement of Femi Gbajabiamila or his demotion would disunite the political family of president Tinubu. According to her, the president needs a united political family because of the 2027 general elections; she pointed out that the opposition politicians are growing in popularity and broadening their alliance across regions of the federation; hence, the president can not risk infighting within his political fold. Beneath her argument is her sworn determination to thwart Seyi Tinubu’s governorship ambition.

The president considered the argument from his wife and that of his son– not being oblivious of their hidden agenda.

The president’s decision-: Femi Gbajabiamila would be given the Wale Edun’s treatment. He will remain the chief of staff but without influence, without the chief of staff’s responsibility and reliance from his principal. He is nominally the chief of staff but Hakeem Muri-Okunola bears the responsibility of the title.

DID YOU NOTICE THAT THE USA STRUCK SOKOTO FOR A STRATEGIC INTELLIGENCE REASONS?

Not Borno.
Not Plateau.
Not the obvious front line.

That should teach you something about American intelligence and intelligence gathering.

They know where the problem is from

You do not fight only where the noise is loud.
You hit where coordination, funding, and command are happening.

The Nigerian Army can handle the front line.
Soldiers can confront fighters head-on.

But to end the problem, you dismantle the powerhouse.
You break the coordination, the planners, the enablers.

That is how real wars are won.

This was not an attack.
It was a warning.

A message that says, in clear terms:
We know where you are.
We are watching you.
Leave now, or face the consequences.

That is how serious operations begin.
Quiet. Precise. Psychological.

And this is only one of many signals.
If the attacks in Nigeria don't stop
America will not back down, especially with this Israel intelligence

I said it before in one of my posts.
The next phase would not be loud.
In the next 90 days, the noise would drop.

What you are seeing now is the beginning of that phase.

Why am I worried?

Because Trump has now put Nigeria on the global map for the worst possible reason ever.

A US missile strike on Nigerian soil.
Then a public announcement that America struck ISIS terrorists in Nigeria 👈

That single statement has done serious diplomatic damage to Nigeria.

Nigeria’s image has been dragged into a category it has never openly occupied before.

And this could have been avoided months ago.

If the leadership had acted with precision.
If they had controlled the narrative.
If they had managed the media.
If they had crushed the insurgents quietly and decisively.

But they failed. Completely.

From the security adviser.
To the army command.
To the media handlers.
To the presidential circle.
Up to the president himself.

They failed first to control the story.
They failed to counter propaganda.
They failed, most importantly, to end the insurgency.

Now it has spilled beyond our control.

Inside Nigeria, life feels normal.
People are dancing, posting, moving on.

But outside Nigeria, the picture is different.
To the international community, Nigeria is now being associated with terrorism.

Terrorism they have neglected since 2009

Travel restrictions are only the first signal.

Clearing this image will not be easy.
It will require the government to go all in.

Diplomatically. Militarily. Politically. Media-wise.

They must prove, that Nigeria is safe again.
And that process is neither fast nor simple.

That is why this strike worries me.

Still, one thing remains true.
If our leaders failed and someone else is now forcing accountability,
then that part, at least, is a welcome development.

Presidency Decides Gbajabiamila’s Fate Over Alleged Betrayal Of Trust

Former speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives and current chief of staff to president Bola Ahmed, Femi Gbajabiamila faces the axe from the presidency over his alleged betrayal of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s trust via his office.

A source privy to the development claims that Femi Gbajabiamila soiled his relationship with president Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has consequently lost his place in the heart of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu who prior to this time, counted Femi Gbajabiamila a trusted ally as well as the next governor of Lagos State.

According to the source, the president reportedly discovered that his chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila allegedly sold appointments into president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s government; an act president Tinubu considers as sabotage and betrayal of the long-age trust he has for him.

As result, president Tinubu had wanted to relieve him his position as his chief of staff and reassign him to head a ministry but for the intervention of Remi Tinubu who advised against such a move citing infighting and possible escalation.

Hence, while Femi Gbajabiamila remains the chief of staff, his influence and responsibility are very minimal, making him an officer without a portfolio.

Also, his governorship ambition has been written off by the presidency. Prior to the development, Femi Gbajabiamila was being tipped for the office of the governor of Lagos State.

Following his relegation, Seyi Tinubu and the speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa have been elevated in the pecking order of who becomes the governor of Lagos State.

Femi Gbajabiamila is just a figure head Chief Of Staff, he’s just operating in the villa based on vibes, relationship between him and the President isn’t as solid as before, he sold appointments and the President figured out. His ambition to be Governor of Lagos is dead too”, the source stated

Even though Femi Gbajabiamila is desperately trying to regain the trust of the president and had superfluously explained the reason behind his alleged offence, the president has seemingly shut the door against him and his governorship ambition.

While he remains the chief of staff, he is unlikely going to retain such an alleviated position should president Tinubu be reelected in 2027

THE MINISTER WHO FORGOT THE SCRIPT

The drama did not start in Aso Rock. It started in a television studio with bright lights, innocent questions, and one microphone that had no respect for political survival.

Honourable Wale Edun sat calmly, adjusted his glasses, cleared his throat, and did the most dangerous thing in Nigerian politics: he told the truth without checking the memo.

The anchor smiled.
“Sir, Nigerians want to know, did this administration meet its revenue target?”

Wale smiled too. The smile of a man who had balanced spreadsheets all night and forgotten he was supposed to balance narratives.

“Well,” he began, confidently, “we didn’t even reach half of it due to so so so and so…”

Somewhere in Aso Rock, a tea cup froze mid-air. A cough turned into panic. A media aide fainted spiritually.

“HALF?!” someone screamed inside the Presidency Media Room.
“But we’ve been shouting ‘SURPASSED TARGET’ since January!”

Phones started ringing like church bells during deliverance.

In another corner, the Propaganda Committee — seasoned veterans of Lagos IGR mathematics — stared at the TV in silence. These were men who could turn potholes into profits and debt into dividends. But today, their General had fallen.

Old age had betrayed Wale Edun. Not by memory loss of numbers — no — but by forgetting the most important rule: never expose the magician while the show is ongoing.

He spoke like an accountant.
Tinubu expected him to speak like a politician.

By evening, the retaliation arrived quietly. No shouting. No press statement. Just a neat memo.

“Effective immediately, key revenue and tax sectors under the control of the CBN have been reassigned to another ministry.”

Demoted without the dignity of a demotion.
Sacked without the ceremony of disgrace.

Wale read the memo twice.

“So this is how Judas felt,” he whispered.

The next morning, the Presidency went back to television.

“Our revenue performance has exceeded expectations,” the spokesperson announced boldly.

Exceeded whose expectations? Nobody asked.

Behind closed doors, Tinubu shook his head slowly.
“This one forgot he’s not in Lagos anymore,” he muttered.
“At the federal level, truth must first pass through strategy.”

Wale Edun learned the hard way:
In this government, facts are optional, but loyalty to propaganda is compulsory.

And somewhere in Nigeria, citizens laughed bitterly, because the funniest jokes are the ones that sound exactly like the news.
