*DEMOCRACY RAPED: HOW THE SENATE BURIED THE PEOPLE’S WILL* With the Senate’s rejection of *electronic transmission of election results* today being Feb 4th, 2026, Nigerians have once again been dragged face-to-face with an ugly, recurring truth: *those who claim to represent the people have long abandoned the people’s will*. This was not legislative caution. It was *deliberate sabotage*. And let us stop pretending otherwise— *the Senate was comfortable with it*. No walkout. No dissenting bloc. No emergency caucus. No voice raised in shame. Only a thick, conspiratorial silence—the silence of men who have *chopped and wiped their mouths clean*, confident that nothing will happen 😢. This single act adds yet another weighty reason why Nigeria increasingly looks like a country held together not by consent, but by exhaustion. A state that systematically blocks transparency has already forfeited the moral right to demand loyalty. And what about us—the electorate? We grumble online. We vent on WhatsApp. We trade insults on social media. Then, like clockwork, we *queue obediently to re-elect our captors*. This is not apathy; it is *learned helplessness*. Let us call it what it is: *the rape of democracy*. Elections in Nigeria are no longer instruments of choice; they are *rituals of deception*—occasions to spray money, display thuggish power, wrap theft in nationalist slogans, and then retreat to four more years of calculated contempt for the masses. The ballot has been hollowed out. The people have been conditioned to forget. The political class has mastered the science of *manipulating a population that confuses survival with citizenship*. What we now practice is not democracy under threat—it is *democracy already hijacked, gagged, raped, killed and paraded as a corpse*. Until Nigerians move beyond online outrage and confront this systemic fraud head-on, elections will remain nothing more than a recurring insult— *a cycle of hope raised, stolen, and buried*. This is not leadership. This is not representation. This is *organized betrayal masquerading as governance*. And history is watching. *FraXav* Copied

WILL ARSENAL BOTTLE THE LEAGUE AGAIN OR MANCHESTER UNITED IS JUST HAVING THEIR MOMENT? Manchester United's performance at the Emirates, a surprise? One worthy of reckoning? Before I look into Arsenal. Let me start from here. It’s now two wins from two for Michael Carrick. The beauty of this is that Manchester United have now beaten two Premier League title contenders in their last two matches following the sacking of Ruben Amorim. But hold on. We’ve seen this performance before, haven’t we? Just before he took over, Amorim defeated Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City as Sporting Lisbon manager and later did the same as Manchester United manager. This is still new-manager bounce. In addition, Manchester United have managed to be tough against big teams in the Premier League despite their struggles over the years. So this isn’t sustainable yet, and it’s not time to sing Uhuru. Let’s keep monitoring progress. Regardless, the Red Devils did what was required to win and they won. It must be said; Senne Lammens saved Manchester United and of course Kobbie Mainoo was solid. Back to Arsenal. Sometimes, you just need to do the basics to win. From the moment Arsenal went behind to Manchester United through Patrick Dorgu’s goal, all they needed was to do the basics, as basic as pass and shoot. There are matches defined by fine margins, and this one against United was exactly that. I’ll tell you how. 1. The spirit of this United side was high, higher than Arsenal’s. 2. They had just sacked their coach (new-manager bounce). 3. They had just defeated Manchester City, a title contender. They had almost nothing to lose, hence playing under little or no pressure. The same cannot be said of Arsenal. Mikel Arteta and his boys are league leaders with massive expectations. Arsenal are under immense pressure. So you approach matches like this with less tactical overthinking or rotation and focus on the basics of football — again, as basic as pass and shoot. Dear Bukayo Saka, You should cut down on excessive ball-holding and looking to pass or dribble through tight spaces. Deliver more crosses into the box. Cut inside and shoot more often, unless there’s an obvious situation where passing is clearly better than shooting. Dear Noni Madueke, It was expected that you’d do a bit more when you were subbed on. There was a chance where the option was open to either pass into the centre of the box or at least shoot, but you chose to go even closer to the post, eventually losing the ball to Harry Maguire’s clearance. At the very least, you should’ve learned from the rebound shot you took that rattled the goalkeeper and earned Arsenal a corner. Need I remind you that Arsenal’s 2–2 equaliser came from a corner kick? Imagine if you had produced more of that for a team that has mastered set pieces. I didn’t see much of the first half, so I’ll stick to the second half and, on that basis, let Martin Ødegaard off. Dear Eberechi Eze, In matches like this, you don’t stay rotational with the ball. You find spaces, move into them, and shoot. There should be more aggressiveness, more commitment of your opponent. Dear Mikel Arteta, In matches like this, you do the basics; as basic as instructing your players to take shots from considerable distances, cut down on excessive passing, carry the ball more, and shoot. In what world do you start Gabriel Jesus in a match like this, at a time like this? 🤦🏾♂️ Where did you expect him to conjure magic from? How did Manchester United score two of their decisive goals? The basics. Dorgu saw an opening after about two exchanges with Bruno Fernandes. On the third occasion, he decided it was enough, took a shot at the edge of the box, and was rewarded. Matheus Cunha came off the bench, saw an opportunity from a counterattack outside the box, took a shot, and was rewarded. Again; the basics. Now let’s flip the table. In those same situations, if it were Arsenal, with Eze, Ødegaard, or anyone else, they would likely try to move closer to the goalkeeper, exchange more passes, and eventually lose the chance because of how compact Manchester United defended. Arsenal may have taken similar chances in other matches and been successful with this approach, but not today and that was the difference. You must understand when to let go of certain habits and when to hold onto them. Manchester United understood their strengths and stuck to them: stay compact, counter, and shoot. With Bryan Mbeumo and the introduction of Cunha, that approach was always going to be dangerous. But Arsenal? No. No one in Arsenal’s attack was decisive, and that was evident in the nature of their two goals. First goal: an own goal by Lisandro Martínez Second goal: a goalmouth scramble from a corner kick. Arsenal didn’t lose because they were bad. They lost because they were indecisive under pressure. It’s not over yet, but if Arteta loses the league again this season after leading for so long, I fear for his job in North London. Copied
