PoliticsThe Task Before Mr Peter Obi: by enemyofprogress(op): 4:13pm On Jun 30, 2025
THE TASK BEFORE MR PETER OBI:
Mr. Peter Obi

Peter Obi is not hungry and desperate for power like other politicians. Peter Obi is only desperate to see Nigeria work.

1.
All we want Peter Obi to do is spend 4yrs as President to re-structure Nigeria in such a way that our institutions will become strong and truly independent, with a working State and Federal Police force.

2.
Revamp Nigeria's economy and make Nigeria a productive and production nation.

3.
Tackle insecurity and bring insurgency to a standstill, identifying the sponsors and persecuting them transparently.

4.
Identify all Nigeria natural minerals and locate them and make them national asserts and genuinely have them mined by authorized and Licensed Miners; and the money go into Nigeria's account for development.

5.
Revamp our refineries and stop the exportation of crude.

6.
Stabilize the Naira and the exchange rate.

7.
Remove the corruption in the Petroleum subsidy sector.

8.
Restore the national consciousness in Nigerians to see and put Nigeria first before ethnicity, tribe, religion or geographical location. Such that Nigerians will be proud to be called Nigerians before any other thing.

9.
Identify past looters of Nigeria's treasury and asserts and make them return 75% of whatever they have illegality taken or acquired or stolen from Nigeria within 6months, otherwise face prosecution and go to jail.

10.
Stop the payment of pension and gratuities to past political office holders.

11.
Fight corruption to its bearest minimal; after which he will conduct the best election in the history of Nigeria and quietly hand over power to the North.

Four (4)yrs is enough to do all of these. It is not Rocket science...

PoliticsMy Cfr National Honours Award by enemyofprogress(op): 1:40am On Jun 30, 2025
MY CFR NATIONAL HONOURS AWARD

By COL ABUBAKAR D. UMAR (Rtd)

When the President called to inform me of his decision to magnanimously confer on me the the National Award of Commander of the Federal Republic, CFR, on account of my much advertised role in the struggle for the validation of the June 12th election and affirmation of Chief MKO Abiola's mandate, my first reaction was why only me and not all those unsung heroes. Those officers and men who actively participated in that struggle, risking their careers and even lives.

Although I was one of the leaders of that movement within the military, my contribution was by no means bigger than theirs. While I have been recognised and celebrated, including this National Honour by the President, they have remained anonymous.

It is therefore incumbent upon me to reveal the identity of these patriots if only to acknowledge and commend their contributions to the emergence of the current democratic dispensation. The fact that Chief Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12th election won over 80% of the Armed Forces votes, clearly demonstrated the contribution of the other members of the military. I should add that this list is by no means exhaustive. There are a lot more participants who have remained unknown to me since they served under others. I apologise to all those whose names I must have missed. May God recognise and reward your sacrifice.

Top on my list is my deputy at the Armoured Corps Centre and School, Col MA Garba, whose commitment was so strong that he continued with the execution of our plans after some of us were arrested, detained and mercifully retired in October, 1993. He went on, as he should, to attain the enviable rank of a Major General in the army. Others are:

Others are:

-Lt col Lawal Jaafaru Isa.

-Lt col UF Ahmed.

-Lt col MS Dasuki.

-Lt col ML Gwadabe.

-Lt col J. Temlong.

-Lt col Musa Shehu.

-Lt col Chris Eze.

-Lt col HM Dzarma.

-Lt col Isa Jibrin.

-Lt col JOS Oshanupin.

-Lt Col A Oloruntoba(kabiesi Olugbede of Gbede kingdom).

-Lt col Moke.

-Lt col Happy Bulus.

-Lt col Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

-Col J Okai.

-Col E. Ndubueze.

-Lt col Yakubu Muazu.

-Lt col Yahaya Abubakar ( current Etsu Nupe).

-Major Saad Abubakar (current Sultan of Sokoto).

-Maj Abba Maimalari.

-Maj Jamil Tahir.

-Maj Buzugbe.

-Maj LP Aprezi.

-Maj MK Yake.

-Maj J Dawah.

-Maj Suleiman Wali.

-Maj M Sumaye.

-Maj Sani Bawa.

-Maj Ndaliman.

Maj Ahmed.

-Maj M Bawa.

-Lt col JB Ahmadu.

-Capt Junaid Bindawa.

-Capt Lar.

I therefore accept this award with all sense of humility on behalf of all these officers and men. Obviously, it goes without saying that this award will be doubly more meaningful if the democracy we all fought for delivers the real dividends. This can happen only if leaders at all levels govern with the fear of God and in accordance with the tenets of democracy. It remains the hope and prayers of all patriots that nothing is done to derail this infant democracy.

To achieve the stability and progress of our democracy, leaders must prioritise good governance over politicking for self aggrandizement. The three co-equal branches of government must operate independently while cooperating with each other.

One enduring lesson from the conduct of the officers and men is their decision to operate above sycophancy but to hold their superior officers to account. Sadly, this does not appear to have a positive impact on our political leaders. Sycophancy everywhere has become the scourge of selfless and accountable leadership. It is the reason for the arrogance and vanity we see in our leaders at all levels. Men of straw are widely and falsely being elevated to the position of icons by self seeking sycophants. Mr President must lead in a war against sycophancy in all its forms. This must allow for no exceptions including the rapidly growing trend of naming and renaming public institutions, facilities and other infrastructure after a President or State Governor while in office. The other day, the Senate President was reported to have predicted that President Bola Tinubu will win the 2027 election with 99.9% of the votes! Even allowing for the fact that this Senate President is widely known for his humorous incitement, Mr President will do well to shun such oracles.

God bless Nigeria.

Foreign AffairsThe Crumbling Dome: Iran-israel Ceasefire, BRICS, And The End Of Western Illusio by enemyofprogress(op): 8:19pm On Jun 29, 2025
*The Crumbling Dome: Iran-Israel Ceasefire, BRICS, and the End of Western Illusions*

By Umar Osabo PhD.

*An Investigative Report*

*Introduction: A Ceasefire on Shaky Grounds*

When Iran and Israel agreed to an abrupt ceasefire last week, global media rushed to frame it as a diplomatic victory for Washington and European allies. But deeper investigation reveals a far more complex and troubling reality — one that not only redefines the security landscape of the Middle East but also signals the unraveling of the world order as we’ve known it since World War II.

Beneath the headlines, this ceasefire is less a testament to successful diplomacy and more a symptom of military vulnerability, shifting global alliances, and the accelerating decline of Western hegemony, US, Europe in particular.

*Who Really Blinked First?*

Public narratives suggest that both Iran and Israel chose diplomacy over further escalation. Yet, leaked diplomatic cables obtained by Der Spiegel and corroborated by Stratfor and the International Crisis Group paint a different picture: it was Israel that first signaled the need for de-escalation after suffering significant military setbacks.

A NATO intelligence assessment, leaked to The Guardian, revealed that Iran’s coordinated missile and drone assault overwhelmed key Israeli air defenses, rendering major airbases temporarily inoperable. For the first time in decades, Israel faced a direct military vulnerability it could neither deny nor swiftly remedy.

*The Myth of Israel’s Impenetrable Air Defense*

For years, Israel’s defense triad — Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Arrow-3 — was celebrated as the world’s most sophisticated shield against aerial threats. But the June 2025 conflict revealed a shocking truth!

According to Jane’s Defence Weekly and SIPRI, Iran’s use of drone swarms, radar-blinding loitering munitions, and precision-guided ballistic missiles exposed critical flaws. A confidential IDF report, leaked to Haaretz, admitted that interception rates dropped to 62%, far below the publicly claimed 90%.

Iran’s engineers, likely aided by Russian and Chinese cyber-warfare expertise, jammed Israeli radar and overwhelmed its tracking systems. This unprecedented breach debunked decades of faith in Israel’s air defense superiority.

*America’s Dilemma, Europe’s Irrelevance*

Caught between its commitment to Israel and the global economic risks of further escalation, the U.S. found itself cornered. A classified CENTCOM advisory, published in Foreign Policy, recommended urgent de-escalation to prevent a broader conflict that could destabilize global energy markets and accelerate BRICS-led efforts to bypass the dollar.

Meanwhile, Europe, fractured and increasingly powerless, struggled to assert relevance. Germany balked at military involvement, while France initiated backchannel diplomacy with Iran via Oman — a telling sign of Europe’s diminishing alignment with U.S. policy in the region.

*BRICS: The Real Winner Behind the Ceasefire*

Far from the negotiating table, BRICS nations watched — and benefited. A white paper leaked from the BRICS Security Council reveals a coordinated strategy to capitalize on U.S. overextension.

Economically, the BRICS Pay system experienced a surge, bypassing SWIFT and reducing dependence on the dollar.

Militarily, Iran’s success validated asymmetric warfare models now being adopted in BRICS defense cooperation talks.

Geopolitically, energy diplomacy shifted. Saudi Arabia and Iran, now BRICS members, rerouted energy flows eastward, undermining U.S. and EU leverage.

*Will the Ceasefire Hold?*

Inside Israel, hardliners are furious. Leaked Mossad briefings warn that Netanyahu’s fragile coalition could collapse if perceived as weak. The political calculus leans toward breaking the ceasefire should Iran appear to rearm or escalate.

For Iran, the ceasefire serves tactical purposes, not strategic concession. Bolstered by military success and growing BRICS support, Tehran is unlikely to capitulate on key issues like its nuclear program or regional influence.

A CIA risk assessment, leaked to The Washington Post, bluntly states: “U.S. influence over both parties is rapidly eroding due to expanding Russian and Chinese leverage.”

*A Crumbling Western Hegemony*

This conflict exposed an uncomfortable truth: the post-WWII order, underpinned by U.S. military supremacy and economic dominance, is faltering.

Sanctions fatigue is real. Over 60% of global energy transactions are now conducted outside the dollar system, as confirmed by a joint Chatham House–PetroChina report.

Energy politics have shifted, with BRICS nations tightening intra-bloc energy security at the expense of Western importers.

Deterrence models, once based on superior air power and technological advantage, are now outdated in an era where drone swarms and cyber warfare democratize conflict.

*A World at a Crossroads*

The Iran-Israel ceasefire is not a peace treaty; it’s a pause dictated by mutual exhaustion and shifting power dynamics. The deeper reality is the collapse of old assumptions: that Western-led security, sanctions, and military technology can unilaterally dictate global outcomes.

BRICS is poised to formalize an alternative security framework, potentially challenging NATO’s monopoly on international security guarantees. Meanwhile, U.S. influence is weakening, constrained by internal divisions, military overstretch, and the crumbling power of the dollar.

Unless the West fundamentally recalibrates its global approach — embracing true multipolar cooperation rather than resisting it — the decline of Pax Americana is not just likely; it is inevitable.

*Conclusion: Beyond Missiles — The End of an Era*

This is not merely a Middle East story. It is the unraveling of an entire world order. The ordinary reader must understand: the myths of military invincibility, the power of sanctions, and the dominance of Western diplomacy are rapidly fading.

What comes next is a world increasingly shaped not by who controls the skies, but by who adapts fastest sweet to a reality where power is diffuse, alliances are shifting, and no empire — however mighty — remains unchallenged forever.

Foreign AffairsStatement By Prime Minister Of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu by enemyofprogress(op): 11:02pm On Jun 28, 2025
*Statement by Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu on the just ended 12 days War with Iran:*

"Dear citizens of Israel,
In the 12 days of Operation Rising Lion, we achieved a historic victory, which will stand for generations.

We removed two existential threats: The threat of annihilation by nuclear weapons and the threat of annihilation by 20,000 ballistic missiles. Had we not acted now, the State of Israel would have soon faced the danger of annihilation.

But this did not happen because at the decisive moment, we rose up and stood like lions, and our roar shook Tehran and echoed around the world.

In the scriptures, it is said: 'By stratagems shall you make war.'

The surprise opening blow of Rising Lion will go down in the annals of Israel's wars and will be studied by every military in the world. In one strike, in one blow, we eliminated Iran's senior command, including three chiefs-of-staff and many other senior officers. And in those same moments, we eliminated Iran's leading nuclear scientists – those who held the knowledge, led the nuclear program and sought to bring upon us destruction and death.

We destroyed the main enrichment facility in Natanz, the uranium conversion plant in Isfahan and the heavy water installation in Arak. Our friend, President Trump, stood alongside us in an unprecedented manner. On his order, the US military destroyed the enrichment facility deep underground at Fordo.

We attacked dozens of installations of the Iranian nuclear program, including laboratories and factories for producing centrifuges. You certainly remember seven years ago, how in a brilliant Mossad operation, we brought to Israel the heart of Iran's secret nuclear archive. We revealed Iran's secret nuclear program for the annihilation of the State of Israel to President Trump, to the entire world and to you, citizens of Israel.

Indeed, today, now, in this operation, we completed the work and struck the entire archive. This archive concentrated within it Iran's overall knowledge for producing atomic bombs. We also did this.

For decades, I have promised you that Iran would not have nuclear weapons. And indeed, in all of the swift actions that our soldiers carried out, we sent Iran's nuclear project to oblivion. And if anyone in Iran tries to rebuild this project – we will act with the same determination and the same force to cut off any such attempt. I reiterate: Iran will not have nuclear weapons.

With the same force and determination, we destroyed Iran's industry for producing ballistic missiles. We destroyed dozens of missile production factories. We struck hard at their stock of missiles. We destroyed most of their launchers. In many cases, we destroyed them minutes before they could launch their missiles of death at Israel. Iran's malicious intention, to threaten – within a few years – the existence of Israel with tens of thousands of ballistic missiles – this threat has also been removed.

Regarding the Iranian regime, we struck crushing blows at this wicked regime. We eliminated many senior commanders. We destroyed command centers. We attacked Revolutionary Guards bases. We attacked Basij bases. We struck the symbols of the regime. Today, this morning, a few hours before the ceasefire, we struck the ayatollahs' regime with the hardest blow of all since the start of the war, with the hardest blow in its history. We eliminated hundreds of regime operatives in a crushing attack, the most crushing that Tehran has seen in the past 50 years.

Citizens of Israel, on your behalf, I thank my friend, President Trump, and the US, for their part in defending Israel and in removing the Iranian nuclear threat. The US decision to join the campaign, not only on the defensive side, but also on the offensive side, was historic. It has never happened before. This was the fruit of a diplomatic effort that I led, together with Minister Dermer, with President Trump and his team. I must tell you Israel has never had as great a friend in the White House, and I thank him very much for the joint work. It has major implications for Israel's national security, for the security of each and every one of you, and for your children and grand-children, and for the face of the Middle East.

Citizens of Israel, on October 7, we were in the abyss. We suffered the worst disaster in the history of the state. But thanks to the joint forces of the Government, the security services and you, the people, we recovered and returned fire. Approximately 20 months later, we took control of the skies over Iran and exacted an unprecedented price, which it never imagined it would have to pay.

And yet, despite our tremendous achievements, we are not riding the waves of euphoria. We are neither overconfident nor complacent – the opposite in fact. We have no intention of taking our foot off the pedal. We must complete the campaign against the Iranian axis, defeat Hamas and bring about the release of all our hostages, both the living and the deceased.

To the families of the hostages, I say: We have not ceased for a moment, even a single one, including during this war, from our efforts to return home all of our hostages. Again: Both the living and the deceased. And we will not relent from this sacred mission until it is complete.

And to the bereaved families, I say: Your dear ones, our heroes, did not fall in vain – because it is their heroism and sacrifice that made it possible to dismantle the Iranian axis. Without the immense achievements in Gaza, in Lebanon, in Syria, and against the terrorism in Judea and Samaria, we would not have been able to reach Tehran.

With the destruction of the Iranian axis of evil, we will open a path of peace and prosperity for the nations of the region, and I say to you, even beyond the nations of the region. We are already working on that, vigorously, and the time will also come to reveal our activity. We will compensate, with a generous hand, everyone who has suffered damages, and bring the Israeli economy to new heights. This is already happening.

Citizens of Israel,
We have paid heavy prices on the home front during this operation. We embrace the families of the fallen with infinite love. We all wish a full recovery to all who were injured, in body and soul, as we do for all those injured in this campaign since October 7.

In recent days, I have visited several of the cities that suffered considerable destruction by Iranian missiles. Many homes were damaged, and as I promised the residents, we will build them anew.

Citizens of Israel,
I wish to express, on your behalf, the deepest gratitude to IDF Chief-of-Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir; to the commanders and the fighters of the IDF; to Mossad Director David Barnea and the fighters of the Mossad; to Air Force Commander Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar; to our brave combat pilots – what a wonderful job they have done; to the dedicated technical ground crews; to the Director of Military Intelligence, Maj.-Gen. Shlomi Binder and the intelligence personnel, who revealed the enemy’s secrets with amazing creativity; to the Director of the Operations Directorate, Maj.-Gen. Oded Basyuk, for driving the campaign; to my Military Secretary, Maj.-Gen. Roman Gofman; to the Home Front Command; to the Israeli Police; to the fire, medical and rescue Services, who have saved many lives.

And naturally, I wish to express gratitude to Defense Minister Israel Katz, and all of the government ministers. They all stood jointly behind the historic decision, and acted, each in their own purview. Each and every one of them rose to the occasion.

And beyond all that, I wish to express gratitude to you, citizens of Israel. This is a moment of national pride, a moment of unity, a moment when every citizen in Israel can stand proudly and say: Together we did the unimaginable.

The nation rose as a lion. Am Israel Chai ['the People of Israel live']. And with G-d’s help – the eternal people will ensure the eternity of Israel."
