(1) A rectangular concrete block 40cm X 30cm X 60cm of mass 10KG rests on a horizontal flat surface. What is the minimum pressure it can possibly exert on the surface?

(2) In what distance can a 1500KG automobile be stopped if the brake is applied when the speed is 20m/s and the coefficient of sliding friction is 0.7 between the tyres and the ground?

(3) The highest point of a simple pendulum bob is 5cm vertically above the lowest point as it swings to and fro between the two extreme ends. At what velocity does gt swing past the lowest point (equilibrum point) where the string is vertical? (take g = 10m/s2)

(4) A certain radioactive element has a half life of 20 years. How long will it take the activity to become 1/4 of its original?

1.you first find the AREA by multiplying the highest two blocks... ; 40cm and 60cm
40cm/100= 0.4m
60cm/100= 0.6
AREA= 0.6 x 0.4 =0.24m
PRESSURE=FORCE/AREA
where F=mg ; 10 x 9.8 =98
P=98/0.24
= 98/24 x 10^2
=4.068 x 10^2
P= 406.8N/m

No o...the metal ball discharged heats through air which is convection...
But the Sun reaches us through the 3 system.
°It reaches us through radiation by emitting some nuclear materials.e.g(infrared rays)
°It reaches us by conduction e.g through our house roofs
° It reaches us by convection too.....e.g before or during the rain.

I'd use it if I saw a decimal point among the options or if Oxygen was replaced with air..

This composition is for Science student but Arts and Commercial can take one or two things from it.



Some people still haven't come to grip with themselves UI won't allow calculators. You better come to terms with that.

I believe anyone who wants to write UI post-UTME next week should be done reading by now. Cause there is virtually nothing to read again.

This week is a revision week, and should be expended on time management. It's a mock week as well, if we all still remember what 'mock exam' is.


Physics for many is very hard while for others, it is cheapay.


Yea.

-Just do the subject you know very well first,
-Or the one that would be easy for you,
-And won't take much of your time,
-At least 30 to 45 seconds on 1 question,
-Skip the one you don't understand or grab what the question is talking about easily from/at first read,
-Move to the next, once you read a question, You'll be able to know whether it is simple and you can answer it,
-If otherwise, move to the next question in no time.
-When done with those you are sure of, go back to the ones you left undone, and start turning your head over those ones.
-Try as much as possible to attempt all questions or subject.
-If you waste time on Maths alone or Physics and leave Chemistry and English undone, you've virtually failed, (this is not a fact, so don't quote me anywhere).
-So you have just 1week left to time yourself 30 seconds per question, know which one you can answer easily from this week.
-If Use-of-english won't take more than 15minutes or less to answer the 25 questions,
-Then, how many can you take in answering 25 Chemistry questions? 15minutes too or less?
-Then if you are able to use just 30minutes on 50 English and Chemistry questions, You have 1hr for physics and Maths. And Count that 1hr as just 45minutes.



If you're going to use real time (wall-clock, wristwatch) to test your readiness. Give yourself 45minutes for 100 questions. But if Stopwatch, 1hr. University of Ibadan's time is like stopwatch. Even some guru's would finish before exhausting the time given. So be sincere with your timing at home this week and you'll be happy at the end you did.



For my bosses who all have been bombarding one another with questions on here, it's time to make use of your Cue-dependent memory or Recall. You must be able to recall that argument you had with someone here on a particular question or what correction Rursh pointed out or what EngrBello said to be the perfect answer to 'Chem157' question. You've scored yourself cheap marks if you happen to come across such question on D-day.






Final tips in one week's time.

For DE's who need one or two clarification. I don't know much about your procedure, but I could always help you stop by the admission office for any questions.

Thanks.....concerning the DE registration... im having difficulties when fill in my O level results in the bio data... The subjects is not listed..the page TABS is highlighted with Select first Subject (instead of the list of subjects to show up) The Tab for Subject result/Grade is okay...but the Tab for each Subjects has an error.
I'm having this issue since Monday.... and have been trying different Cyber Cafe but it still the same!

I have just gotten a UI past question now in PDF format from the link I saw here. I actually don't know that guy "dunsin89" still exist. I got past questions from him in 2015 and I saw questions similar to what I did in 2014. Now am happy to get the updated version from him.
You guys should try get a copy. The downloadable ones made available by UI for aspirants is utter rubbish. They just want to "chyke" us.

The probability that UI will conduct putme this year is very slim (1/10). The just concluded OAU's putme has just been removed from the school's portal when they recorded mass failure. Information reaching us now states that FG is not allowing putme dis year again. The supposed lifted ban has been reinforced. I just hope this year's admission won't be too messy.

The Advantage of the delay is that; it gives us more time to prepare but the side effects be say ....The Pro's are setting the Questions

That's true....that's why I will advice you to reason well before shading during exams.. there were many questions like that.. I don't think they made a mistake/ typograph error of putting wrong answers there because they ought to have review it since past years. Thats an example of Negative Markings I once talked about.

note:sinx = cosx.
And cosx = -sinx
dy/dx = U(dv/dx) * (Vdu/dx)
du/dx = 2*2x^2-1 + 1*3x-x - 0
du/dx = 4x + 3
;; U(dv/dx) = SinU i.e= CosU
= Cos(2x^2+3x-4)
U(dv/dx)*V(du/dx) = 4x + 3*Cos2x^2+3x-4
