BusinessRe: Forbes' 30 Under 30 For 2020: Nigeria Tops List by EngrEngr:
When will an African Organization create a list of Top 30 Americans under 30 or Top 30 Europeans under 30.

My dear Africans when are we going to rise from the ashes of mediocrity? A continent of almost 2billion people. And the western media is telling you there is only a Top 30.

Africa is too blessed to be limited by a list. We must wake up before it is too late. God bless us all

And to the man that composed the list; President Xi has a gift for you angry

Superwave:
But if na Igbo full the list your comment go cha.ange to chest beating.
Omg imagine this one quoting me... who made this a tribal issue? You don’t even know my origin. This is shameless to say the list. I pray for your mental liberation as soon as possible

Sassysure - When you decide to insult before advising. It doesn’t speak well of you. It questions the integrity of your knowledge. I appreciate your views tho. Thanks a lot. Please let’s stay dignified and remove the insults.

Cococandy thank you for your input. Very brilliant replies.

Okay let me ask you a simple question:

Do you want the drama to continue or you want it to end, at least for now?
I absolutely want it to end.
FamilyRe: My Father-in-law Wants Me To Always Prostrate Wherever I See Him by EngrEngr(op): 1:31pm On Dec 19, 2019
theButterfly and crackhaus - it didn’t happen that way. Let me explain better. Due to the fact that both parents have met, and date was going to be fixed and We were preparing for the main wedding event. However we realised that her parents wanted to run the whole show including fixing the date and even paying for all expenses without input from my parents which was really annoying and a show of pride and totalitarianism.

Hence waiting for her parents to fix the date was not going to favour our timing so we decided to have the private civil ceremony.

Like I stated earlier, they literally have been giving me rules and regulations on how to relate with them like I am a pauper from Nigeria. They know I and my other siblings studied abroad and in private univs too.

I used maturity to overlook their excesses cos friends made me believe I should just tolerate it till I am married and begin to ignore them.

Her parents consistently tried to manipulate me with all sorts until they began using the tool of suspending or threatening to cancel our wedding ceremonies to threaten me to succumb to their demands of being a slave to the family. That was when my wife told them, it was too late to threaten with that cos we were already married and I had also applied for my stay.

This led to a the new dimension of drama I shared on the original post

hakeemhakeem theButterfly Thank you for your contributions, I appreciate your views but they’re very incorrect and I just realised it’s my fault you feel so. I didn’t mention that; we already met families and dates had been fixed for the main events. Her parents used their domineering attitude to cancel it for very false reasons that would shock you if I mention.

If I say all the details of what they have done, I will need about three pages on nairaland.

On my honour, my wife is also aware and currently reading these posts so there is nothing sinister about my actions or my relationship with her.

Thank you so much everyone for your Thoughtful contributions... they will be thoughtfully implemented in due course

saheedbadmus -Yes she is a citizen. But I can assure you this is a genuine relationship. It was quite late when I began to realise this family are a bunch of issues. Thank you for your advice

Promotions - thank you so much for your brilliant suggestions.

MrBrownJay1 -I totally agree with everything you said bro.

hisgrace090 -serious trap. God will deliver us.

Otipoju: Very exhaustive and realistic steps. I appreciate and I will certainly follow them. We have also shown strength by blocking them on phone calls and WhatsApp indefinitely.

Yomi007 : I understand your perspective bro, but this is not a case of pride. I am a very humble person. With all he has said and done. If I succumb to prostration, my worry is that he will demand for something else. If I don’t do it, he will still talk. I feel it is safer for me to show strength respectfully by not bending to his pressure.

correctyourself - Thank you bro. Very insightful comment.
FamilyMy Father-in-law Wants Me To Always Prostrate Wherever I See Him by EngrEngr(op):
My Story is a very interesting one and I will keep it short. I met my wife in the U.S. while studying my masters and she lives with her family. Honestly she did not tell me that her family (especially her parents) were difficult to please folks.

The moment I met her family, they began placing too many demands and interrogating me like I was a suspect. I continually showed maturity and managed the situation with wisdom. It is good to note that her parents and my parents have met in Nigeria and we have all traveled to Nigeria for a second meeting again of both families (like an informal introduction)

A year after meeting her family, we began planning for marriage, I was running out of visa hence I and my girlfriend decided to have a private civil ceremony so I could apply for my stay. Fast forward to this moment, after she told her parents about it, they began saying dehumanising things about me in an attempt to denigrate me and even accused me of using their daughter for papers

A Pastor has attempted to reconcile us but the parents remain adamant. Her father insisted we must divorce and write to immigration to cancel the visa. My wife and I declined that.

He has now again asked that I must prostrate for him flat on the ground wherever I see him (even in public).

I am a Yoruba boy but I have never done such for my parents in public let alone outside Nigeria. And the unfortunate thing is that we attend the same church. And giving her father’s nature, I strongly believe it is a prelude to future demands

Should I change church or remain there and greet him without going all flat to the ground (bending my head a little is all I can do).

Nairalanders, please do your thing and advice me on how to manage this situation.

Royalroy can this make it to Frontpage so I can get more input from everyone

Rubbish Post.
What the Niger Delta needs is resource control NOT university.
Calm down bro, One Step at a time... Some of the issues we are agitating for cannot be gotten automatically. There are legislative or constitutional processes. This is a good development and let's have this in the bag as we move on to others. God Bless.

OzyMigrant:
You applied for a remark and still used the same inconclusive result for EA............how does that work bro, or am I not reading well ni?
Hahaha... I used my old IELTS result for EA assessment and the result also guaranteed me 10points as well. However, i recently wrote another hoping to get 20points from it but I had L/S/R/W as 8.5/8.5/9.0/6.5... Hence i want to remark it.

EngrEngr,, see, try every test in existence to get 20 points before the end of April o.. That ceiling will close in May...

mctowel01:
Most likely, the ceiling will end in April and resume at 65 points in July. I advice you just take pte, since you aim for a high score. But if you believe your ielts can go from 6.5 to 8, you can remark. Compare factors like cost, time, possible outcome, before deciding.
Btw, you be real monitoring spirit.
Lool, thanks bro for this response... I've resolved to remark my IELTS. Now I'm beginning to feel like i should have done my EA assessment for Electrical Engineer and not Electronics Engineer.

Just to answer no 2...i doubt remarking your writing can bump you from a 6.5 to 8 oh. A 7/7.5 would have been hopeful. But u really did well. Maybe you should practice your Writing and take it again.
Thanks a lot for your response, that has also been my worries. I still feel like i did well in my writing. I can't seem to understand what went wrong

Hello Everyone, I don't know how to thank you guys. For the past 3months, I have been studying this thread like a monitoring Spirit cheesy grin cheesy and it has actually gotten me to this point which i would explain briefly.

+Assessment EA for Electronics Engineer +3years RSA -- 20 points
My Age - 30points
Used my previous IELTS - 10points

My Total Points stands at 60points hence my

EOI Lodged- March 29th, 2017

My Current profile has generated some questions hence i decided to create an account today.

1. With the current Occupation Ceiling, Do you think it would be possible to still get an Invitation in this migration year as an Electronics engineer?

2. In order to boost my points, I wrote another IELTS and got the following result last week; L/S/R/W - 8.5/8.5/9.0/6.5. Do you guys think i should apply for a remarking?

Finally A special Thank you to all the intellectual contributors to this thread. From the Idea creator, Bellong. And everyone else, Bnimz, mctowel01, jamson. Your input to my situation would be very appreciated.
