I think you should use the date you joined the company,
Then you fill your current job description,
But attach your letter of promotion and your previous and current job ticket.

OGreene:
"When did you start this job" in bracket they said the start date of this role.

I was moved to a diff unit in April. Pls do I state April 2015 date or the date I joined the company? April to July is 3months, so small compared to the two years I hv spent since I joined d coy

It is random. And if the dice falls on you, Be Prepared.

Hello All,

Abi Una remember this my matter,

I reapplied on the 23rd of June and got my passport back today with Visa granted.

I basically used the same set of docs i applied with at the initial refusal, Only this time I applied at Ikeja.

And yes , it took longer than normal.

I attended a webcam interview i did not plan for right after i submitted my documents (first timers take note)

Good thing is i was very composed and answered the questions confidently
I was able to remember my aunty's house adress as well as give an account of what i plan to do in the UK.
Interviewer asked me the nature of my job and what exactly i do ( must tally with the Job description you filled online)
I also attached my graduation brochure which shows I just completed Masters in Theatre, When Interviewer asked me if I will visit London as my arrival is Manchester.
I said Yes to Visit the Globe theatre, then we talked about Shakespeare. I smiled and tried to be very courteous.

I also used the additional information to explain the extra monies i recieved,
I attached Church bulletin and yahoo mail conversations as well as my church organogram (Yes i am an extremist)

I wrote a cover letter and adressed the points highlighted by ECO in the refusal, I attached printed copies of online transfers for the monies i recieved that was'nt mine. Then I cut my budget to about 110£ and stated exactly how i will spend it including the places i intend to visit.

Two Things happened while I waited for my Passport.

My dad is a frequent flyer to the UK, he was contacted to confirm if I am his daughter.

My HR Manager called to say the Embassy contacted him aking about the nature of my job and how much I earn.
He also asked the HR Manager who my direct line manager is ( I remember the interviewer asked me to even spell his name)

Then a verification Unit mailed my HR Manager again to confirm my date of birth and how long my contract with the company is.
After he responded I got a mail apologising for the delay in returning my passport.

Please Pardon my epistle, This is just to help whoever may be applying next. Make sure you use the additional info, supporting documents are never too much,Refusals MUST be avoided as long as you are genuine, lol.

Thank you justwise, ekpotek, worry and all who helped me.
God bless you.

Sorry for your refusal. My advise to applicants for UK visa to make use of the additional information space provided on the application form to explain any issues (document), that might lead to a refusal. If you had provided the above explanations, in you application, the EO, would have understood, where those lodgement come from. Most applicants should understand that the decision of the EO are largely based on the documents you submit to support your application. Most refusal are based on applicants giving the EO reasons to be suspicious of their travel intentions. I learn this from my 2 earlier refusals in 2007 and 2011. Since then, I have successful, gotten two 6 months and two 2 years making it 4 successes in a row. In all my application I make use of this additional information spaces, and even enclosed further explaination on a sheet of paper documenting my bank details, previous visit to UK and other countries with an assurances that I will return back to Nigeria as I had previously done from my visit. The rule is to provide all pieces of documents with full explanations to support your application. You can reapply and address the concerned raise and revised your budget to be not more that 1000 pounds, which will be just flight tickets and shopping fund, since your aunt will provide accommodation and feeding.

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by eniayooke: 2:36pm On Jun 16, 2015
Ok. thank you,

the invitation letter is dated 11may
intro letter from company is dated 12 may

3. How old is the IV?

@justwise @worry357 @anyone who has answers

Hello guys,

In defending other monies in my account,

Do i write it on an additional piece of paper or make the comments on my statement of account as the space provided for additional info won't be enough?

Also do i need to add receipts of this transactions like print out of online transfer.

I will also like to know the validity of an Introduction/Invitation letter.

Thank you.

Hello,

no my job isnt as a church worker. that one is voluntary and i dont get paud for it.

i work in a private firm whose credit alert on my bank account reveals their name,

the church monies with me are usually paid out once the event is approcaching.

the over 1m in my account is disposable income after i have spent on living costs. i am single and have no major responsibility.

you are so funny, I dont do spiritual counselling o

thanks
ekpotek:
As you explained the sources of the cash lodgement, do a letter to the EO, addressing the issues raised by the EO on your bank statement point by point. Emphasis that as a Minister of Religion (aka church worker), you sometime also received apart from your salary, cash gift from persons that had benefited from your spiritual counseling that are paid into your account. The EO would be interested to know how you have built up a bank balance of over 1 million given the salary you earn as a church worker. Good luck.

Hello Justwise,

I applied using information from the website and you helped personally,

i am grateful for this although the application was refused today.

I applied online on the 18th of may and submitted on the 21st of may and recieved the package today at the VI centre,

PLease find attached the refusal letter, I am not discouraged and willing to try again.

My question now is how soon can i reapply without seeming desperate, my leave is in august.
Do i use the same set of documents i tendered when applying the first tim/

i have read through the reasons for refusal and the points that the ECO raised for refusal.
It all points to insufficient funds/money lodgement.
My GTB account is my savings and salary account. as a worker in church sometimes i get cash which i have paid into my account on three or four occassions.

ECO Highlighted five lodgements but stated just four.
26/03/15 - My boyfriend was expecting 350k from a gtb account and he told the person to transfer it to me. I transfered the exact same amount to his own skye account the next day 27/03/15.
31/05/15 - May has just 30 days. i could not have recieved any money on the 31st. The only money i recieved apart from my salary in the month of may was on the 05/05 the sum of 50k from my boyfriend and he gave it to me for my MSC grad as a gift. from the same skye account i transfered the 350k to.
02/04/15- I payed in 90k into my account cash deposit --- This money is for food in church for an event which i later transfered to the food vendor on the 02 June.
20/04/15 - I payed in 95k into my account cash deposit ---- This money is for food in church for an event which i later transfered 100k to the food vendor on the 01st June. The 5K extra was my personal contribution to the event.

Every other money in the account belongs to me, I did not lodge monies. there are other inflows of 20k 40 k and so on. But even this ones highlighted does not form the bulk of my finances.

As of today that i got the refusal, i have paid out all monies except for another 50k in my possession which belongs to church and have a balance of 1. 53k.

Maybe i overbudgeted for the trip, i will find a way to cut this down in my next application.

i have been very honest with you and gicen you a breakdown so you can advise administratively and tell me how to go about my next application. Please find attached a scanned copy pf the refusal letter.

Thank you as i look forward to your response.

Oh dear
Please advise what do i do now
My leave is due 1st week aug.
Would like to reapply and dont want a refusal.
Meanwhile I hope i havent been banned.
justwise:
Since your aunt will be accommodating you then you over budgeted the trip. The only major expenditure there should be flight ticket.

Budgeting to spend close to £2000 in 10 days does not make economic sense.

Yea I saw the refusal letter
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by eniayooke: 7:03pm On Jun 10, 2015
ok i said ill be staying for 10 days
i put my auntys tenancy agreeent and stated that she will be accomodating me.
did you see the refusal letter.
what do i do now.

justwise:
Those 3 huge payments you made without explaining it did not help your application.

How long did you state that you will be staying and will you be accommodated by your aunt?

You need to make a list of places you tend to visit in the UK and breakdown of how you plan to spend that money, spending 500k in 10 days may result in refusal.

You can add flight booking as well
THANKS Oga mi, I will keep you Posted.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by eniayooke: 2:53pm On Apr 14, 2015
justwise:
Its not necessarily important for them to include those but you have to state that clearly in your form that they will only be providing accommodation for you and that you will be using public transport to places you tend to visit while in the UK.
Thank you very much,I will mention that in my personal cover letter while i wait for my invitation letter and the tenancy agreement .
Right now i have my Passport
Employment Letter and Photocopy of ID Card.
Payslips for the last 6 months
Bank Statement for the last 6 months
A Personal cover letter
Company's introduction letter stating ill be on leave (my only tie to nigeria)
I have just completed my Masters Programme this month and plan to start my PhD soon although i dont have an admission yet. Will it serve as a good tie?
I'm not sure if i should add the Flight booking.
Lastly I'll like to ask if i should explain how i plan to spend my BTA on a separate sheet or in my cover letter as well as my planned tour.
Do i also need to submit my old expired passport still in my posession along with the application.

Just want to get it right, No Errors. Thank you.

The 'wrongest' advice you can ever get on non-immigrant (visit) visa matters.

It amuses me when people tell you..."ol'boy go to SA, Dubai first o, to 'disvirgin' your pali", because having taken my time to read extensively UK immigration rules and guidelines guiding visa officers in making their decisions as to visa grant or refusals, then I began to appreciate the efforts of Justwise and others here (these guys are mobile encyclopaedia of knowledge) helping us to eraze our ignorance on many entry clearance issues. (Ol'boy, the Immigration Rules and Guidelines broad and extensive, no be small o,had to abandon it at some point! everything is on the internet)

Visas are granted (without sentiments or emotions) largely objectively when you meet the set down immigration rules, also visa processing shouldn't be spiritualized too. (my opinion though)

I have been granted visas as well as refused...thinking in retrospect now, having been armed with better information, I agreed that I deserved the refusal.

When I was granted my 1st ever visa to the UK, not only was I granted on a virgin passport, I applied for my family, other than my wife who had travelled to the UK before, my children applied with virgin passports. Meeting the requirements and without having to travel first to Dubai as a family to disvirgin our passports, we were all granted visa for holiday on our 'virgin' visa-less passports as a family.

Also on this other issue of "your-wife-must-bear-your-surname-on-her-passport", my wife still had her maiden surname as her surname on her passport as at the time we had our 1st ever travel together as a family, and recently renewed her passport with her maiden surname still as her surname (as we were not ready to go through the stress of change of name, Abuja Immigrations HQ runs etc)(at Ikoyi Passport office, the officers there kept making a fuss that my wife still wanted to re-list her maiden surname on her new passport and made it clear that we will be refused at the embassy. We just smiled and thanked them) and she still was granted visa on that renewed passport together with the rest of the family recently.

I just thought to push this out there to save some couples and their new families the stress. I dont think its worth it jor!

Calm down and know the rules! grin grin

Safe trips to all intending people (and families) in the course of the year!

Shoutout to JUSTWISE, VICJUSTICE AND OTHERS doing a great work here!!
Your narrative is apt, Thank you.

justwise:
Staying with a family member will reduce the cost for you, though you will need proof of accommodation, IV and data page of their passport.
Your salary is not bad but spending more than 500K in 10days will not do your application any good.

Your job remains your only tie to Nigeria, you can't manufacture any other tie.
Thank you for your response Justwise, since i'll be bearing the cost does that mean my invitee need not include bank details and statement of account save for proof of accommodation,(tenancy agreement) IV and data page of their passport

Hello Justwise and all, Its a great job you all are doing here.
I have gone through this thread but i'll still like you to help me out.
I am planning to apply for a UK 6 month tourist visa on a virgin passport to London for a 10 day Vac.
I will declare that i have been refused a student visa in 2006 for using my dads company account.
Right now i work with an Oil servicing coy for 8 months and due for leave in august and would like to go on holidays.
I earn 203k after tax. My account balance is about 1.2 mill. I am 24, still live with my parents and have no major expenses as they cover all.
MY concern now would be should I book a hotel and flight ticket. How do i convince the ECO i wont go broke after this. Then ill just list my family and friends in the UK i plan to visit.
Or should i get one of them to invite me and attach supporting documents. (Even if i may stay with one of them I dont like this route) Which gives me a better chance of getting the visa though. I dont want a refusal, I plan to apply on the 1st of May. When is the best time to print my bank statement too.
What can i declare as my strong ties to return to nigeria apart from my job. Is it Ok to attach a cover letter.
I plan to spend about 500 - 600k, How do i explain this.
So many questions, Please help me> Thank you.
