Jokes Etc[STORY] Must Read: The Runs Girl… Part 1 by enifex(op): 2:36pm On Jun 29, 2015
Runs Girl is a story about Linda, a university student who in a bid to make ends meet and out of the desire to live large and be among the ruling babes on campus ventured into the business of selling her body for money…

Read on and see how everything played out in the end…

LINDA NARRATES…
I woke up with a start unable to recall where I was. The room was familiar but I couldn’t remember how I got there. I looked round and realised it was a hotel room.
Then I noticed I was naked and my private region was dripping wet.
The least I could remember was that I had gone for a night party with my roommate the night before.
There was enough to eat and drink and the fun had flown lavishly.
Then along came this middle-aged wealthy-looking man who came with Stella – my final year roommate.
I was in 100level while Stella was in her final year.
“Meet Chief Adeboye,” Stella introduced pointing at the middle-aged wealthy-looking man. “Chief Adeboye please meet my wonderful roommate, Linda.”
I stretched out my hand and shook hands with Chief Adeboye.
Chief Adeboye held unto my hand for some seconds before dropping it.
“I wish you guys fun,” Stella said and left immediately.
I felt uncomfortable when Stella left. It was my first time in a night party and I never foresaw that I was going to be left alone with a total stranger for any reason.
But then Chief Adeboye turned out to be a very nice man from the way he treated me.
He lavished me with attention, showered me with compliments and treated me like a queen.
Everything went on fine till he handed me a glass of red wine.
I sipped a mouthful, sipped another and yet another and another.
Then I started feeling dizzy and that was all I could remember.
The bathroom door clicked open and Chief Adeboye stepped out from the bathroom completely naked.
The picture of what had happened became clear to me.
Chief Adeboye must have drugged me, carried me to his hotel room and slept with me without my consent.
But then I had no evidence to support my claim.
His phallus stood erect between his two legs pointing at me like an aggrieved snake.
“What did you do to me?” I asked trembling with fear.
Chief Adeboye ignored my question and climbed unto the bed.
“My friend, spread your legs!” He ordered grabbing my knees and yanking them apart.
I felt sharp pain in my lower belly as Chief forcefully drove his phallus into my aggrieved pu$$¥.
Back and forth he moved for some minutes before he began to groan like a bull on heat as I felt warm, sticky fluid hit the mouth of my womb.
When he was done, he pushed me aside and threatened to deal with me if I ever revealed what happened to anybody.
Then he dressed up, took his car keys and left without uttering any other word to me.

SportsI Won’t Play For PSG – Xavi by enifex(op): 4:56pm On Jun 02, 2015
Barcelona midfielder Xavi has denied reports that he could join Paris Saint-Germain on loan.

The 35-year-old will end his 24-year stay at Barcelona in Saturday’s Champions League final against Juventus, having agreed a two-year deal with Qatari side Al-Sadd, according to Goal.

And reports in the French media last week suggested the veteran could make a temporary move to the French capital, with Al-Sadd owned by the brother of PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi. “I will not play for PSG,” Xavi told Qatari newspaper Al-Watan.

Xavi helped Barca to a 3-1 Copa del Rey final victory over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday in what was his final appearance at Camp Nou.

His last match as a Barcelona player will be on Saturday in Berlin as the Spanish outfit face Juventus in the Champions League final and victory would see him lift the trophy for the fourth time in his career.

Xavi claimed eight La Liga titles and three Copa del Rey crowns during his time with Barcelona.

Meanwhile, Xavi has described Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi as an “amazing luxury” following his contribution against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, Football Espana reports.

The Argentine scored an acclaimed solo goal to break the deadlock in the Copa del Rey final, before wrapping up a 3-1 triumph for La Blaugrana with a second late on, and the midfielder struggled to find the superlatives worthy of his colleague’s performance after the final whistle at Camp Nou.

PoliticsImpeachment: Fayose, PDP Beg Buhari To Intervene by enifex(op): 4:14pm On Jun 02, 2015
Tension rose again in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, on
Monday as supporters of the state Governor,
Ayodele Fayose, and some Peoples Democratic
Party members laid siege to the state House of
Assembly in Ado Ekiti . Their action was to prevent the 19 All Progressives
Congress lawmakers from gaining entry to the
assembly to actualise their move to impeach
Fayose. While the siege lasted, the national leadership of
the PDP and Fayose urged President Muhammadu
Buhari to intervene in the matter. News had filtered into the state on Sunday night
that the lawmakers had assembled in a hotel in a
neighbouring state preparatory to sneaking into
Ado Ekiti to remove Fayose and his deputy, Kolapo
Olusola. It was gathered that the news made the police to
quickly cordon off the major roads leading to the
Assembly complex with their patrol vans and an
Armoured Personnel Carrier . The PDP members and commercial motorcyclists
blocked the secretariat and NTA roads which also
lead to the complex. As of 3p.m on Monday, the
policemen, the PDP members and the commercial
motorcyclists were still seen blocking the roads. As the tension heightened, Fayose made a
statewide broadcast during which he again called
on the people to defend the mandate given to him
by them. After the broadcast, commercial life in the city went
dead as traders hurriedly locked their shops while
civil servants closed their offices and left for their
homes. Fayose had before the broadcast told journalists
that all the entitlements of the APC lawmakers had
been paid, contrary to Speaker Adewale Omirin’s
denial. The governor flaunted copies of Skye Bank
cheques dated May 26, 2015 and issued to the
lawmakers to corroborate his claim. One of the
cheques, which bore the name Boluwade Kehinde
was received on behalf of the lawmaker and had a
sum of N2, 149, 052 .37 on it. Fayose warned that it would amount to contempt
of court for Omirin and his colleagues to continue
with the impeachment proceedings against him. He
made reference to the ruling by Justice E.S.
Chukwu of the Federal High Court, which ordered
that the status quo as of April 23 be maintained pending the determination of a motion on notice
before him(Chukwu). The factional Speaker, Dele Olugbemi, and six
other lawmakers had in the suit sought an
interlocutory injunction among other reliefs
restraining the APC lawmakers from commencing
impeachment against Fayose. The governor said,
“They have been dropping the name of President Buhari as giving them the backing to impeach me. How can an Assembly, whose tenure will wind up
on Thursday be planning this. I wonder why the issue of the past should be
allowed to come to play out now. “As of the day
the court gave the order, I mean April 23, Omirin
was not the speaker. It will be wrong for the court order not to be
respected. This is illegality and I want to raise this
for the public to know. “Omirin had gone to court to challenge his
impeachment but he later withdrew his case,
which means he accepted he had been impeached.
A cost of N100, 000 was awarded against him. “So,
he is not the Speaker. I am calling on well- meaning Nigerians, the Chief
Justice of Nigeria, Justice Mahmoud Mohammed,
and President Buhari to intervene in this matter. “How can somebody be living in another state and
be planning to invade his own state; this is
something else and I view this as a major crime
anyone can commit against his people.” On the payment of the salaries and other benefits
to the APC lawmakers, Fayose said, “They came to
collect the cheques in Ado Ekiti in company with
the Commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo. “The issue would have been discussed publicly
during a peace parley but they insisted that it
should not be discussed openly because they
didn’t want the leaders of their party to know,” he
added. Fayose urged the Ekiti people to keep their
eyes on the lawmakers and prevent them from carrying out their plot to remove him. In Abuja, the PDP accused the outgoing APC
lawmakers of trying to cause mayhem as a means
of securing political control of the state. The party warned in a statement by its National
Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, that its members
would be fully mobilised to resist the scheme. It alleged that the move to create confusion in the
state by the lawmakers was a final attempt in their
failed mission to unseat Fayose. The PDP warned the lawmakers to watch their
steps and not to take its civility for granted as it
would not hesitate to defend the governor with all
the force availed by the law. The statement read in part, “We wish to state in
very clear terms that we would not condone any
more move by the rejected APC lawmakers to
subvert the will of the people of Ekiti state as
expressed in the mandate freely given to Governor
Fayose. “These outgoing APC lawmakers whose mandates
have already been withdrawn by the people
should watch their steps and not in any way take
our civility and Governor Fayose’s deportment for
peace, unity and harmony for granted. “We issue
this as a final warning. Our members and supporters in Ekiti State are able,
willing and ready to defend our mandate using all
available instruments granted by the law. “We have the capacity and will have no other
option unless the APC lawmakers retrace their
steps and embrace peace. Enough is enough.” It added that it would not in any way “condone or
tolerate any move by the APC lawmakers to
subvert the course of justice”. While commending the people of the state for their
courage in standing by Fayose, the party urged
Buhari to caution the lawmakers especially given
the olive branch already extended to them by the
governor. The party also charged security agencies to be on
the alert and ensure that there was no breakdown
of law and order in the state. In Port Harcourt, Rivers State, the Acting National
Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus, also said that
Buhari and the the international community
needed to intervene in the Ekiti crisis. Secondus accused the APC of planning to cause
confusion in Ekiti and other PDP-controlled states,
warning that such a step was detrimental to the
survival of democracy in the country. He said, “It is the plan of APC to cause crisis in Ekiti
State. It is the plan of APC to systematically cause crisis in
the PDP-controlled states and this will not augur
well for democracy in Nigeria. “If you recall, PDP
has nurtured this democracy for 16 years and we
are having today, that has the rule of the game,
they are now in power. They were not coerced; they were allowed
freedom of the press; rule of law was obeyed and
today, Buhari is the President of our dear country. “We call on the President and we call on the
international community to quickly look at what is
happening in Ekiti. We ask that the rule of law should be followed.

CelebritiesNo Man Can Handle Me Apart From My Husband – Omotola by enifex(op): 4:45pm On Jun 01, 2015
Omotola Jalade Ekehinde has opened up on her decision to get married at the early age of 18. When asked by Vanguard if she would have gotten married to another man later ,had she not married her hubby early, she said:-

I don’t think so, because I don’t think there is any man that can handle me apart from my husband. Not because I am a bad person, it is because I am a very strong personality. I can understand why a lot of female artistes find it very difficult to find the right person.

When you achieve some kind of success, you become really confused as to who really loves you for who you are. It’s not really easy, it is very hard finding those people who really love you. If you are not a very grounded person, you can also contribute in some kind of way to your own problems and so I might have contributed to my own problems.

PoliticsConfirms Buhari On Track To Win Presidential Elections By Heavy Margins by enifex(op): 2:57pm On Mar 27, 2015
Summary of Results: We earlier reported on the outcome of a comprehensive electoral survey on the Nigerian presidential elections initially slated for February 14th. The elections were then subsequently postponed for a 6 week period, and rescheduled for March 28th, 2015. Given the significant political events that have transpired since the release of our last survey results, we recognized that there was a strong possibility that voter preferences could have shifted in the intervening period. We therefore conducted a new survey that was intended to understand whether there had been any shifts in the presidential preferences of Nigerians within the intervening period.

president

The new survey was conducted from March 14th to March 25th. The Survey Platform utilized was Survey MonkeyTM. A detailed overview of the survey methodology is described at the end of this paper. The survey questionnaire comprised of 42 questions covering the following topics: (a) demographic questions covering gender, educational attainment, income, region of origin, place of domicile and location at which voter’s registration was done (b) 2011 electoral choices (c) 2015 voting intent (d) respondents’ political views and (e) motivating factors for the choice of Presidential candidate.

As with our earlier survey analysis, we reiterate that a critical challenge that an online-based poll offers is the possibility that results can be skewed due to an over-representation of respondents from certain regions in the sample population. This potential bias can be controlled for, by analyzing the results on a regional basis using the regions where respondents registered for their voter cards as the filter.

Given that the detailed 42 item survey allowed us to establish the region in which respondents registered to vote, and by extension where they would be voting, it was possible to develop a detailed profile of voting behavior by region. This enabled us to develop insights into the likely scenarios that will evolve by region, allowing us to ensure that a high response in certain parts of the country did not unduly skew the predicted outcomes. Our ability to evaluate voter behavior on a regional basis also allowed the determination of the potential impact that low voter turnout or outright vote cancellation in the North Eastern part of the country might have on electoral outcomes. All analyses relevant to the elections were carried out only with respondents that were domiciled in Nigeria, have voter cards and indicated that they would be voting in the 2015 elections. The different sample sizes of respondents from the various regions implied that the associated confidence interval for the various regions were different.

Projected Outcomes

The survey emphatically confirmed that Muhammadu Buhari is on track to win the 2015 Presidential elections with about 32.3 million total votes (see Figure 1), while Goodluck Jonathan will obtain about 7.7 million votes. The combined tally for the two candidates will average about 40 million votes. We have maintained our assumption that the voter turnout will be about 58.1%, which is the average of the voter turnout percentages obtained in the last 4 elections held in the 4th republic (53.7% in 2011, 57.5% in 2007, 69.1% in 2003 and 52.3% in 1999).

Based on the survey results, we predict that Goodluck Jonathan is unlikely to win outright in any geo-political zone. While we reported in our last survey that Jonathan would win the South East (65%) and South South (71%) geo-political zones, the new survey results indicate that he will likely lose to Buhari in the two regions winning only about 42% of the votes in the South East and 38% in his own region, the South South. We project that Muhammadu Buhari is on track to win in the North East (83% of the votes, confidence interval 95±12%), North West (95% of the votes, confidence interval 95±8%), North Central (82% of the votes, confidence interval 95±6%), South West (86% of the votes, confidence interval 95±5%), South East (58% of the votes, confidence interval 95±15%) and South South (62% of the votes, confidence interval 95±9%).

Given the significant margins of victory that the analysis projected for Buhari, we were concerned that the sample population might have been skewed towards Buhari supporters. Although this was highly unlikely given that the respondents were randomly solicited from all over Nigeria, we decided to undertake two further tests on the sample population. Firstly, we reviewed the proportion of respondents who indicated that they had voted for Jonathan and Buhari in the 2011 elections, and compared the voter percentages to the reported INEC figures for the outcome of the 2011 elections. 55% of the respondents in this current survey indicated that they had voted for Goodluck Jonathan in the 2011 elections. This is slightly lower than the official INEC voter count from the 2011 elections, which indicated that Jonathan won that race with 61% of the popular vote. 45% of the respondents indicated that they had voted for Buhari in the 2011 elections, versus 33% from the official INEC figures. These results indicated that majority of our respondents had voted for Jonathan in 2011. What this also means in essence is that a survey of this nature would have accurately predicted the outcome of the 2011 presidential race.

Secondly, we also reviewed the voting choices of Jonathan’s 2011 supporters across all regions to understand how their choices in 2015 were impacting the presidential race. Only 34% of respondents who had voted for Jonathan in 2011 indicated that they will be voting for him again in 2015, while the remaining 66% indicated they would be voting for Buhari in the 2015 elections. If 66% of the 22,495,187 (14,846,823) are added to the 12,214,853 votes that Buhari obtained in 2011, the potential Buhari votes would be about 27 million before bringing to the table the 2.1 million votes for Nuhu Ribadu that are now at play, and the slightly higher voter turnout that is expected in 2015. These triangulations enabled a clear picture to begin to emerge on how Buhari could plausibly win the 2015 elections by significant margins.

While a lot of progress has been made in tackling the Boko Haram crisis in the last 5 weeks, we still proceeded to evaluate what the electoral outcomes would be if the lingering Boko Haram crisis in the North East prevented elections from holding in the states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe (the BAY States). Our analysis suggests that the complete exclusion of the BAY states from the electoral tally will still result in a victory for Muhammadu Buhari. In the event that voting will not be able to hold in the BAY states, the total expected votes from the North East will reduce from about 5.3 million to 2.6 million votes and the projected national tally will be 30.1 million votes for Muhammadu Buhari versus about 7.2 million votes for Goodluck Jonathan. In either scenario, Buhari will likely win the presidential elections with a convincing majority of the total votes cast.

The factors that underline why Buhari will likely win

This new survey reinforces our earlier position that the real story of the 2015 elections will not be so much about the scale of the likely victory in the presidential elections by Buhari, but about Goodluck Jonathan’s catastrophic loss of the 2011 coalition that propelled him to office. While the pool of swing voters in our earlier survey was as high as 23%, that number has now reduced to less than 5%. The last 6 weeks have been abysmal for Goodluck Jonathan’s electoral fortunes, as our results indicate that as many as 10 million largely undecided voters – about 23% of the participating electorate – have consolidated firmly behind Muhammadu Buhari.

As we earlier indicated, the most crippling statistic for Goodluck Jonathan is that about 65% of the respondents who voted for him in 2011 have indicated they will be voting for the opposition candidate, Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 elections (see Figure 2). In contrast, Muhammadu Buhari will retain a staggering 99% of those who voted for him in 2011 (Figure 3), and further build on his voter tally by taking on about 66% of the voters who supported Jonathan in the 2011 elections but have chosen to switch to Buhari in the 2015 polls. The disaffection with Jonathan is deep and pervasive. Although 55% of all respondents indicated that they voted for Goodluck Jonathan in 2011, only about 18% of respondents either strongly approved or approved of the job that he is doing as president (Figure 4).

When the reasons for candidates preferences are analyzed, the (anti)corruption stance of the candidate, is the primary driver of voter behavior (see Figure 5). This is despite the fact that corruption continued to rank 5th amongst the key issues of concern to Nigerians (see Figure 6) – behind issues such as security, economic growth, jobs creation and power. It is not clear to us whether the issue of corruption was conflated by respondents to be an all-encompassing issue that affects other key areas of voter concern. This would be the case if respondents believed that the security challenges and the inability of the Nigerian military to effectively contain the Boko Haram crisis are linked with corruption. Similar sentiments that might blame lax economic growth on corruption and embezzlement of funds, could also potentially explain why corruption is taking on a central role in this electoral cycle. While the underpinning factors that have made corruption the primary driver of the 2015 elections are not very clear, the fact is that majority of voters (59%) are making their choice for president based on the corruption standing of the candidates, with a larger number of them (58% of all voters) selecting Muhammadu Buhari as the clear anti-corruption champion compared to 0.8% for Jonathan. These numbers are a significant boon for Muhammadu Buhari. It appears that events in the last 6 weeks have further cemented in the minds of voters, their perception that Jonathan and the government he leads is corrupt.

In trying to understand the factors responsible for Muhammadu Buhari’s surge in acceptability and favorability, we continue to see two critical demographic insights worth considering, and these have to do with religion and gender. Muhammadu Buhari has solidified his lead amongst women voters with about 67% of the female vote and retains a dominant lead amongst male voters with about 85% of the male vote (see Figure 7).

In a clear reversal of the 2011 polling results, Muhammadu Buhari also leads Jonathan amongst Christian voters (72% vs 28% for Jonathan – see Figure cool, while he has a staggering 96% advantage over Jonathan amongst Muslim respondents (98% vs 2% – see Figure cool. The major reversal of fortunes for Jonathan will be better appreciated when the fact is considered that within this respondent pool, Jonathan won 76% of the Christian vote and 28% of the Muslim vote in 2011.

The survey results clearly demonstrate the remarkable erosion of Jonathan’s support base amongst Christian voters, and the massive decline in his showing amongst Muslim voters compared to his 2011 tally. We continue to believe that the remarkable turnaround in the fortunes of Mr. Buhari among Christian voters can probably be best explained by the dampening role that Osinbajo’s choice as the Vice Presidential pick and the perceived support that Osinbajo’s candidacy has from Pastor Adeboye, has made on Jonathan’s erstwhile strong standing amongst Christian voters. While this religious vote swing is real, we wish to point out that when we posed the question regarding the impact that the choice of Vice Presidential candidate had on their voting preference, respondents indicated that it was not a strong factor in their decision making.

http://nairaland.com/new-survey-confirms-buhari-track-win-presidential-elections-heavy-margins-apc-likely-sweep-national-assembly-elections/

When we analyzed the preference data based on the age of respondents, Muhammadu Buhari led in all age categories. In our previous survey, Jonathan had a strong lead amongst voters under 24 years old.

While the story might seem generally positive for Buhari and the APC, the survey results however reveal some deep issues that voters have with both candidates and parties. Nigerians do not view Buhari or the APC as being particularly strong on the economy and in job creation – which are amongst the top priorities of voters (see Figures 5 and 6). Should our results be validated and Buhari and the APC triumph at the polls, they can expect a short honey moon period, as voters will very quickly begin to expect to see results in the key areas of major concern – ending the Boko Haram insurgency, driving economic growth, tackling unemployment & job creation, and solving the lingering power crisis. Buhari’s mandate – if he wins, will not be to wage a war on corruption to the exclusion of the actual issues that matter to voters. He and his party will have to deliver on other cogent issues.

While about 98% of likely 2015 voters indicated that they would participate in the Presidential elections (see Figure 10), only 55% stated an intention to participate in the National Assembly elections. However, given that both elections will hold on the same day (March 28th), the expected strong showing of the Presidential candidate of the APC and the broad national sentiment in favor of the APC (see Figure 11), it can be reasonably expected that the APC will sweep the National Assembly elections as well. We however do not have any data to predict what the regional breakout of the votes for the National Assembly will be.

When we analyzed the data to determine whether the supporters for either candidate intended to vote in the National Assembly elections, the data indicated that about 84% of voters that intend to participate in the National Assembly elections are those who will be voting for Buhari (see Figure 12). We maintain our prediction that Nigeria will likely see a Presidential and parliamentary sweep by the APC.

Affectionately describing how influential that Wilson was on his life, Kanye was inspired with how Wilson pushed her students, stating that she was “notorious for not letting people stop at a 7 or 8,” but would push for a 12 and create the likes of Alexander McQueen.

“So many students, they don’t give it their all,” he said recalling their conversation.

Of trying to get the best out of his daughter with wife Kim Kardashian, Kanye also revealed the advice that Wilson gave him: “She just looked at me and said: ‘Kanye, don’t clap’.”

Kanye was then reduced to tears and could be heard breaking down during the interview, with Lowe asking if Kanye needed a minute to get himself together.

https://www.channelstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Chatham-House-Buhari-300x161.jpgThe presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, says the forthcoming general elections in Nigeria is crucial as it is expected to further democratic consolidation on the African continent in general.

General Buhari made this declaration on Thursday while speaking during a lecture at London think-tank, Chatham House.

He said; “On March 28, Nigeria has a decision to make. To vote for the continuity of failure or to elect progressive change. I believe the people will choose wisely.

“I think that given its strategic importance, Nigeria can trigger a wave of democratic consolidation in Africa.

“But as a starting point, we need to get this critical election right by ensuring that they go ahead and deprive the zones who want to scuttle it the benefit of drowning our fledging democracy.

“That way, we’ll all see democracy and democratic consolidation as tools for solving

CrimeAmnesty International Accuses Army,b'haram Of Committing International Law Crime by enifex(op): 10:47pm On Feb 25, 2015
https://www.channelstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Army_Boko-300x161.jpg The Amnesty International says it has, through ongoing research since 2009, gathered evidence that raises reasonable belief that Islamist militant group Boko Haram and the Nigerian military have committed crimes under international law in the context of the conflict in north-east Nigeria.

The human rights group also claimed that while the government had the obligation to investigate, and where appropriate, prosecute and punish crimes under international law, there have not been sufficiently prompt, independent and effective investigations into allegations raised by it and other organisations.

Amnesty International in a written statement to the 28th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, said the Nigerian security forces in its response to Boko Haram had committed serious human right violations. The evidence in Amnesty International’s possession suggests that Nigeria’s military has also committed crimes under international law, which may include war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Extrajudicial Execution

The agency added that it was concerned by the “deaths of more than one thousand suspects in military detention facilities as a result of extrajudicial executions, torture, starvation, disease, suffocation or other reasons associated with extremely poor conditions.

According to the group, there are extrajudicial executions by the military of men while in detention or upon arrest.

The statement also alleged that “on 14 March 2014, Nigerian soldiers executed more than 640 recaptured detainees in Maiduguri, after they were released during a Boko Haram attack on Giwa barracks.

“In August 2014 Amnesty International published video footage showing soldiers and CJTF members cutting the throats of six of these recaptured detainees in front of two open mass graves”, adding that “eyewitness accounts says nine people were killed in this way, while eight others were shot to death”.

Amnesty International further alleged that “the military has tortured suspects in custody and kept them in overcrowded cells, without access to adequate sanitary facilities, food, water or medical care,” insisting that “these conditions amount to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.

“The military has arrested large numbers of civilians since 2009 without reasonable grounds, including through using unreliable hidden informants to screen entire communities of villages and towns in Borno and Yobe states. The military has also

SportsArsenal V Monaco: I’m Not Bothered By Pressure – Wenger by enifex(op): 10:25pm On Feb 25, 2015
https://www.channelstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Wenger-UCL-300x169.jpg The pressure on Arsenal as favourites for their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie with Monaco is welcome, says Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, before Wednesday’s first leg at Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners have exited the competition at this stage in each of the last four seasons.

“The French might give us the status of favourites. It doesn’t bother me.

“There’s a lot at stake but these are the games you want to play,” said Wenger.

The Ligue 1 side gave Wenger his big break in management in the late 1980s but the Arsenal boss was not in sentimental mood in his pre-match press conference.

On reunion with Monaco, Wenger expressed his excitement on the club’s return to the top level from the second division.

“I am happy that Monaco is back at the top level after being in the second division.

“It was my first chance at a big club but I have been manager of Arsenal for 18 years now and I am focused only on qualifying for the quarter-finals against a good side.”

On team selection, he said the only uncertainty he had was [Jack] Wilshere, “but everybody else is available”.

When asked about goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, Wenger said: “I cannot tell you [who will be] goalkeeper.

“I worry about every player, but only 11 players can start. That’s the same for everyone. There’s competition for players.”

On Arsenal’s (allegedly) easy draw, the Arsenal boss said: “Easy is a word you have to ban in the Champions League, it is hard-earned every time.

“There’s always one goal between going out and staying in.

“In the last four years we’ve gone out in the last 16, twice against the winner, on goal difference or on one goal.”

Speaking on the French side, Wenger said: “They might give us the status of favourites. It doesn’t bother me.
“The worst thing that happened in my career was to play games without any pressure. There’s

EducationASUP Threatens Indefinite Strike by enifex(op): 12:12am On Feb 22, 2015
https://www.channelstv.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/asup-300x161.png

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), have threatened to embark on an indefinite strike on Wednesday 25th February, if government fails to meet their demands.

President of the Union, Mr Chibuzor Asomugha told journalists during a press briefing in Abuja that government has not implemented any of their demands since the suspension of the last strike embarked upon by the Union in July last year.

ASUP is aggrieved over the dichotomy that exists in the way Polytechnic and University graduates are treated in the labour market, and the poor attention given to the polytechnics.

They are also kicking against government’s non-implementation of an agreed salary structure since 2009.
