A female Twitter user has shocked people when she narrated the sad and heartbreaking story of how a man dumped a lady whom he has dated for 28 years just to get married to another.

One Mrs.Hauwa Habibu has been paraded by the kano state police command over the killings of her to two children at Diso Quarters in Gwale Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Abdullahi Haruna, who is the Spokesman of the command, DSP confirmed the report in a statement while parading the suspect in Kano on Sunday, October 4.

He said the police received information that the suspect allegedly hacked her two children to death with a cutlass.

"On the 03/10/2020 at about 1130hrs, information received revealed that one Hauwa'u Habibu 'f' 26 years old of Diso Quarters, Gwale LGA, Kano State attacked and killed her two biological children by name Irfan Ibrahim 'm' 6 years old and Zuhura Ibrahim 'f' 3 years old and wounded one Aisha Sadiq 'f' 10 years old, her nephew of the same address, and fled to unknown destination," the statement reads.

Retired police officer was caught stealing a goat for his mother’s remembrance, was beaten and disgraced in the general public.

Among with the retired Deputy Superetendent of Police, were two other people who were disgraced by being beaten in the public by the resident vigilantes.

President Muhammadu Buhari says his single desire is to make sure that innocent Nigerians do not suffer regardless of party affiliation.

He made the remarks on Friday when Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State led his Deputy, Philip Shuaibu and other party supporters to the State House on a thank-you-visit.

“I thank you for bringing your Deputy and supporters to come and see me after beating my party. I am supposed to preside over all Nigerian interests whether I like it or not, but my single desire is to make sure that innocent people don’t suffer. That message I got across to the Inspector General of Police, that elections must be free and fair.”

According to the President, “If contestants have too much money and they decide to spray, so be it. But what I insist is, nobody should go and raise a counterforce to the government, arm heavily-drugged thugs to go and humiliate people.”

“I want Nigerians to appreciate that I respect them as Nigerians and that I am bound by the oath I have taken, that their security is in the hands of God and in the hands of the government, which I am leading.”

The State Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has suspended Governor Kayode Fayemi.

According to a statement released by the party on Friday, the governor was suspended due to “his numerous anti-party activities, especially his role in the recently concluded governorship election in Edo State which is contrary to the provisions of Article 21 (A) (ii) of the APC Constitution.”

The party claimed that five days before the Edo Election, Gov Fayemi hosted PDP big wig Mr. Femi Fani- Kayode in the government house in Ado Ekiti and planned a coup against Edo APC.

Another allegation leveled against Governor Fayemi by the party was that he played a role in the gubernatorial election in Oyo State and supported the PDP candidate to defeat the APC candidate.

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has given the federal government September 28 deadline to reverse the recent increases in the price of petrol and electricity tariffs or face nationwide industrial action.

This was part of the decisions reached at yesterday’s Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Abuja.

The federal government had approved an increase in the price of petrol and granted the electricity distribution companies the approval to raise electricity tariffs.

At the CWC meeting, NLC vowed to shut down activities in the country if at the end of the September 28 deadline, the federal government fails to utilise the opportunity to address its demands and reverse the price increase.

A 12-day-old baby has reportedly been mauled to death by a dog in Doncaster, United Kingdom.

South Yorkshire Police confirmed the baby boy had suffered serious injuries before passing away in hospital on Sunday.

A 35-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman have since been arrested on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, with both released on bail pending further inquiries.

The dog has been removed from the property, the force confirmed.
