Hi VO i hope you can answer my question genuinely. I am a senior officer in a bank and i and my wife intend to apply for a visiting Visa before the year runs out on a virgin passports.

I have never travelled out of Nigeria. I have a family of four and live in my own house. Is it true that i will be denied a visa because its a virgin passport? What are my chances that i wont be denied.

When applying what are the necessary documents that i must come along with? Will be glad if you can provide more information.

Regards.

Politics / Re: Communal Clashes Between Offa And Erin-ile Kwara State. by enilowo(m): 10:42am On Dec 11, 2013
I am one of the Students Union Executive in 2000. It saddened my heart that some indigene of Offa can still be referring to the Student/ Community crises of that year and be putting some of the blame on Students. For the avoidance of doubt i remember that we did everything possible to prevent the crises by meeting with the late Olofa of Offa, Chief Adesoye, The then DPO of Offa and The then Director of SSS. We also wrote several letters to The Presidency, Police Authorities to mention but a few to curb the excesses of the vigilante (note we never requested for vigilante to be scrapped albinitio) but nothing was done. On the day of the crises, i was the one that led the Esa of Offa into our campus and ensure that nothing happened to him. I also remembered that i suggested to him that we should all go to meet the vigilante even in the face of gun to stop shooting students but he said he cannot go and face people with guns.

It was at this point that we had no other option than to defend ourselves which we did effectively by ensuring that majority of students move enmasse to Erin Ile community. If not for this the students that were killed would have been more than the five that died. Also note that the students that died were students on admission in the school clinic. They went to meet them in the school clinic and kill them.

The students of FEDPOFFA will ever be grateful to Erin Ile community for standing by us in the time of our needs. Any remembrance of that day without a courtesy call on the Erin Ile paramount ruler is inconclusive.

I decided to go on record here to set the record straight. For the avoidance of any doubt My name is Hakeem Oyeneye the SUG Finsec 2000/2001.

Thanks.

For the benefit of doubt and while i would'nt want to prejudice the judgement of the court. I want all Nairalander to know that any law that is inconsistent with the provision of the Constitution is null and void. So in this case, the school will loose the case. Let's also know that the fact that some other students did not take the path of court of law does not mean that others should not.

Councelling is more powerful than restriction.Don't we have students of that school out there fuc***g up and down? Abeg abeg abeg.

De-marketing:CBN dismisses rumours about Intercontinental Bank, others
By Ayo Olesin
Published: Tuesday, 17 Mar 2009
The Central Bank of Nigeria has dismissed rumours about the precarious state of some banks being spread by persons suspected to be staff of competitors, stressing that Nigerian banks were strong enough to withstand the shocks and challenges brought about by the global meltdown.

CBN Governor, Charles Soludo

The rumours, which are spread by text messages, emails and word of mouth, and known in banking parlance as de-marketing, are some of the underhand tactics that some banks use to undermine rivals.

Stockbrokers were also said to be involved in the campaign of calumny to punish banks for leaving them in the lurch in the aftermath of the stock market collapse.

In a statement issued on Monday by the CBN Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, the regulator particularly urged the banking public to disregard “baseless rumours” being circulated about Intercontinental Bank, which had elicited inquires from several quarters about the health of the bank.

The CBN stressed, “Intercontinental Bank Plc remains healthy and has been meeting her obligations to her customers.”

It also noted that the bank had been participating actively at the foreign exchange Retail Dutch Auction, where it bids regularly on behalf of her customers, who required foreign exchange for their transactions.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria has not received any adverse report from her correspondent and/or other foreign banks of any default or unprofessional conducts,” the statement added.

The apex bank explained that it had been providing short-term liquidity support to all Nigerian banks in line with its role as lender of last resort and that “such facilities are available for all the banks including Intercontinental Bank Plc should any bank require them.”

It stressed, “The general public is hereby advised to ignore any negative rumour or false information on Intercontinental Bank Plc or any other Nigerian bank as the information is false. They should continue to transact their legitimate business, including deposit placement with Intercontinental Bank Plc and other Nigerian banks.

“The Central Bank of Nigeria reiterates its assurance that Nigerian banks are strong enough to manage the shocks and challenges occasioned by the global economic crises. The CBN also stands ready to provide liquidity support to any bank that may require it during this period and beyond.”

My brothere please seek for knowledge before you complain. Go and find out as at that time dollars was 114 and even as we speak now its 180 in black market and 150 in banks.

Fellow Nigerian my position is very clear. We need to be weary of anybody that is runny down any organisation, the reason being that there is always an intention. To the best of my knowledge i want to say categorically that there is no bank in the world that does not have one issue or the other in the face of meltdown. For God sake sweet T where were you when this same bank paid back a foreing loan brfore due date? Please lets get something else doing. IBPLC cannot die. For God sake this bank is presently of systemic importance! enjoy your evening.
Business / Re: Intercontinental Bank Plc, This Is A Fraud by enilowo(m): 11:33am On Mar 13, 2009
Ibadan chap please stop your rumour. Are you sure you are not from Adedibu dynasty? For your information the bank has even put the minimum balance on hold because of people like you that is being paid to misinform the public about the issue. Are you aware that FINBANK recently published report shows that their profit dropped by 75% why are we not making issue out of that. Zenith that was out of clearing why are we not making that an issue. WEMA that has not being able to published its financials for more than 3years why is that not an issue. Why IBPLC that has been meeting all statutory requirements. I think its high we all tell this Ibadanchap to get something more profitable doing.
Business / Re: Intercontinental Bank Has Become Useless by enilowo(m): 8:36am On Mar 13, 2009
Permit me to say that i am highly disappointed in the way guys have been contributing to the intercontinental bank issues, the truth is that if any of the top five banks goes down in this country today we will all feel it. Apart from this, the intercontinental bank issues is obviously being bad mouth here. As far as i am concern i know that the bank stand 'giddigba' for ground and i am sure that nothing will happen to the bank. Talking about the savings account minimum balance, how are we sure what they are trying to do is not the principle of 80/20 which is very common in business, this is not new in the industry Zenith and Citi bank has done it before. Why was it not an issue? Infact i am beginning to think that those of you bad mouthing Intercontinental are jealous of the banks achievements in recent time or you are purely agents of bad competitors. To all of you i advise that you change your ways and let us join hand together and ensure that all our institution stands and stop running our organisation down. This is a bank that has taking the country's name to a very high level. I wish to rest me case for. As for me Intercontinental is a pride of this nation. ciao.
