Christianity Etc › Re: I Think I'm Losing My Belief by ephi123(f): 9:53pm On Oct 25, 2016 |
Akdegreat: Yes I agree with you. But I was an 'active' Christian. I was captain in our children department then. I participated and represented RCCG East 1 province in children's bible quiz severally, even at National convention in the camp. I was an active chorister. I used to sweep and clean the church premises every Saturday with my parents and siblings. Anyone who knows me can attest. But all these things do not make you a Christian... I think the challenge in Nigeria is taking being a Christian for granted e.g. being born to church-goer parents and subsequently joining them. I never understood what true Christianity was and what it entailed (a very personal growing walk) until I left Nigeria to live in a country where for you to be a Christian you must have consciously made the choice to become one. Plus the kind of churches we have in Nigeria these days do not help matters, basically there is no fear of God despite we calling the name God several times. |

Nigeria is taking leaps backwards and you guys are talking about patience? Haba. What has the govt done to facilitate its OWN chagne agenda? Change agenda with economic instability, no policy has been implemented successfully, high unemployment, no infrastructural development. |

Like when I told my friend to tell a chick whose number I gave to him that she gave it to him sometime at ----------- (a place she normally visited).
My bro copied the message word for word and submitted on WhatsApp without erasing the "tell her that you got the number" part! . The babe didn't bother to reply again

But why do you think most girls so no big deal about the saga? I didn't say it is not a big deal o. It definitely is. And not just an embarrassment to her parents but herself. There is nothing like living a life where one has nothing to hide. |

What I observed from comments since this issue started:
Guys finds the act and the video very disturbing but majority of the girls commenting appear to have no problem with what the girl did.
I am just wondering.
I don't think so, not with the way they are all running after the video like people on heat. |

Politics › Re: Ambassadorial Nomination: Buhari Sidelines Governors; Osinbajo Gets 1 Slot by ephi123(f): 11:40am On Oct 24, 2016 |
obailala: Something interesting about wailers is that they are bound to wail irrespective of the circumstance. Had it been that governors and party chiefs were responsible for the nominated ambassadors, wailers would have wailed about how appointments are based on paddy-paddy and not merit. Now Buhari has shunned governors and party chiefs, wailers would still wail over this, and one begins to wonder where some of these folks really stand.
In my opinion, this should strictly be an APC palaver. Though I personally don't like the paddy-paddy arrangement of governors and party big-men nominating and having anointed candidates for positions; but then, that is how politics is played in this part of the world and Buhari ought to be careful else he risks the support of his party men in 2019. After abusing waliers, you then proceeded to wail. Hahaha Buhari should not be careful abeg, let him continue as he has been doing ehn. |

DropShot: I am progressing. We are progressing as a country. Nigerians now know that thieves are not presiding over their affairs as we had it under the Ineffectual Buffoon.
Nigerians now know that they're secured and no fear of Book Haram with PMB as president.
The economy is working for hard working citizens but the lazy, docile, corrupt ones are the ones crying day and night.
You are embittered and disgruntled. Change your ways. You are a conscience-less fellow to make that statement above. People are struggling to eat 3 square meals when inflation is 17% plus and you have the guts to call them lazy? Shamelessness is collecting peanuts to defend this retrogressive government and then blaming the common man on top. You will surely receive your judgement in due time. Economy is working? Are you deaf and blind? Are you?? |

Corruption does not know religion, if not James Ibori would not have stolen that much.
I would rather appoint a competent Muslim than appoint/vote a corrupt human being like GEJ Who asked you for story? We are talking about scratchcard you are talking about Muslim/Christian, what is the correlation? |

Danfuster: That part got me too, but really... It's only in Nigeria that statement is considered an insult. My cousins resident in states once came back for Christmas and I happen to spend some time with them, most times they wanna know if I need anything they be like "are you OK?" and I just answer "yes" reluctantly cos I thought it was some kinda demeaning statement but I liten up and figured that's how they roll in the States, you hear things like "you ok?" "you good? "y'all straight... Y'all need anything tho?"... The man in this context is just being gentlemanly and civil. You are right, it is certainly only in Nigeria that it is actually another way of saying "is your head alright"? Lol! |
