I just lost someone (a distant friend). Guys and ladies in the house, the basic truth is that life is too short to limit ourselves. Cut loose and have fun. Dont burden yourselves with the meaningless worries of this insignificant life. The only thing worth it, at the end of the day, is love. Dont shove aside the opportunity to love and be loved. Nothing feels half as good. Visit you aged parents, the sick or dying, give alms to the poor, indulge yourself, forgive those who may have once hurt you. |
Fyi0:Kindly leave ePoster's thread. It doesnt want you here. |
Dont jump on any advice given to you except it fits your kind of person. For a shy guy like you, dont do that whole 'compliment her' stuff. It would be easier and more efficient for you to start out as friends since that spontaneous romance doesnt suit your personality. Be casual and with time, gradually get intimate. That way, both of you can with ease, get to know and like eachother. Dont assume all girls are into AFFLUENT men. Some would disappoint you. And if you arent wealthy dont give a lady the impression that you are. The moment you cant provide every item on her mile long list, she'ld dump you without a moments thought. Present yourself as you are. If she isnt interested, the screw her. No one deserves a golddigger. Shalom! |
ePoster's advice to Jaycynic.. As a man. there isnt a specific, written down formular when it comes to 'shooting one's shots'. Various methods work for each of us as different individuals. A common mistake a guy often makes would be to employ the same technique used by another to get a girl without first considering other factors. The most important being the fact that both your personalities, as guys, arent the same (you are an introvert, the other male may not be). Also, in the same way you and the dude arent alike, the objects of your individual affections are different. While he's might be a lively lady with a gay countenance, yours might be rather reserved. The enviroment/atmosphere you find yourselves in matter. In a tense setting, no lady would open up to some random stranger who approaches her. To sum it all up, you need to create a style for yourself when it comes to wooing a lady. Know your weak and strong points... Typing |

But this is AFRICA, a continent that boast of hundreds of cultures, of proud black men and submissive and docile females. Its little wonder why as a people, we find it hard to completely accept and respect the live and let live rule, especially when it borders on the issue of marriage. So let ePoster break it down for everyone, male and female who likes to think otherwise, MARRIAGE ISNT A PRIORITY FOR EVERY WOMAN. Give to others the chance to choose who and what she wants to be. Dont define happiness for her. If having kids and a husband gives you joy, then go for it but dont stigmatize another who would rather be in an office. Its her life and choice. Deal with it! Shalom! |
Regarding the thread on a 41year old woman, ePoster came across a rather beautiful commen by a male moniker; Izzou. While others commented, abusing the lady (several folks reminded her that menopause is around the corner) or stating how much they pitied her plight (of not yet being married), Izzou pointed out in his mature way that 'MARRIAGE ISNT A PRIORITY FOR EVERY WOMAN' Since the beginning of time, and as observed in a great number of species in the animal kingdom, the females final destination, where her path in life always often ends, is in one thing; to find a mate (spouse) and reproduce. That has been the role bestowed by nature on the woman. One that had been accepted without complain. Afterall, women born several centuries ago had not the liberty of choice, esp. in here Africa. Things have changed now. Contact with a more civilized west has brought to the females, more freedom and the ability to take charge of her life. Typing... |
ICAMETOWIN:i know. But with majority of the answers, i would get a general opinion. Whats your choice? |
AfroKnight:no. I am ePoster |
Olude193:Okay. Devoid of reasoning, but still okay. |
flokii:A honest question brought about all these? Anyways, i create topics based on my opinion of what others comment of various threads. I might create another because of you. 'when ePoster speaks, it is on heat' For your information, you got my gender wrong. Shalom! |
Oluwasaeon:Yes! Thanks for asking. |
that a man and a womans body arent the same. For beauty is an important quality a woman greatly needs and it is gradually lost with each time passed. 3.) it takes time to become financially independent. A man can be in his single for most of his life, hoping for better days without the risk of not finding a woman when the time comes. A woman cant do the same. If she does sacrifice so much time, she is deemed 'unmarriable' by the society. To nairaland men, whats your ideal woman, A youthful beauty in her twenties, who isnt financially independent but physically appealing. Or A mature woman, whos lost some of her attractive qualities(has a couple stretchmarks, etc) but who doesnt care a dam.n for your money? One can have both, but that doesnt happen easily, nor often. |
An average Nigerian man, one who's struggling finiancially, logs in to nairaland and creates a thread on this section calling out Nigerian females for all having the 'entitlement mentality' that he would understandably, find obnoxious. Afterall, love is solely neither sex nor money. That would bring us to the conclusion that Nigerian men adore financially independent ladies. But it doesnt... Later during the day, while viewing this section, ePoster stumbled upon a thread about a 41yr old woman who worked deligently during her youth to build herself up. But rather than encouraging comments commending her efforts, she was reminded that she couldnt be happy because she was too old and not yet married. That brings us to this... Majority of nairaland males, our typical Nigerian guy, contradict themselves without realizing it. 1.) to them, the perfect age for a lady to get married would be her twenties. If she is older, then she is regarded an 'evening newspaper' 2.) these males also point out the fact ... |
izzou:your type is rare. |
izzou:A million kisses. I love a man who respects the, 'live and let live' rule. |
themaestro08:if you came across a dozen post a day, claiming that all men are dogs because of the bitter experiences several ladies have had with cheating exes, you would be slightly angry. Why? Because you're human and a male. No one wants to be painted with the same negative color by a complete stranger. By the way, im as you are; completely realistic. 99% of nairaland males are hypocritical. But dont take my word for it, scroll through this section and judge for yourself. |
Its one thing to state your opinion, another to be a complete c.unt while doing it. If you have preferances or grievances towards a particular member of the opposite sex, the state your views maturely and get the help you solicited. Dont generalize unfairly, all the while throwing tantrums when a female does the same. Shalom! |
Ladylite:self security that calls out others who commit lesser sins. |
Take a thread stating that nigerian men are ugly and another pointing out that the males who claim that women are who.res are indirectly stating that their counterparts are that too, cause it takes two to tangle. The threads got thousands of views and the entire thing was back and front exchanges between the scorned guys and the op. These same myopic males would later create threads stating that nigerian women vaginas stink, that they are all dirty, unintelligent, compared to foriegn ladies. |
Before anyone quotes me to claim that ePoster is typing based on improper generalization, scroll down, and view the topics in this section. Majority of the threads by the males here are directed towards bashing the females while the ladies create threads on love and romance, offering advice to both the women and guys. The worse part to it all is the fact the topics by the male romancelanders are built on the foundation of generalization (claiming all females possess the same negative trait as the few they have come across) and atimes, sheer assumption. To classify an entire gender, over billions of various individual, as a particular thing, is extremely childish. For other mature males to come across threads like that, not put their ego aside and call out the simpleton is even more annoying. This doesnt make them hypocrites though, what does is their reaction to female written post that generalizes, esp. when it highlights a weak quality. They swarm like flies, exhaust their vocabularies in abusing the op. |

Pcguru1 I agree. Like you stated, some men embrace mgtow for valid reasons, eg escaping the clutches of manipulative women, learning to be selfaware as a man, etc. The thing with these movements, feminism, mgtow, mens right, is that they are taught to the average male and female by individuals who indoctrinate the teachings with their own personal beliefs. The followers, rather than turn a deaf ear to what doesnt suit their individual judgement, would take it all in. Most often too, ingnore the core aim of the movement. It happens in religion, social and political movements. |

In any Cause we should be able to implement our sense of right and wrong. Ignore teachings that go against our beliefs and morals. It's not mandatory to act out every instructions but a spiritual leader or in this case, founder of a social movement. Do the right things the movement teaches and leave the wrong ones behind because they don't suit you. People make causes, not the other way around. ![]() |
