Sh*t is lengthy!

1. You can't identify a ritualists by his face, stop criticizing the victims of rituals who couldn't.

2. Telling women that avoiding rich men would prevent them from being victims of rituals is stupid. Poor men are the most desperate and most likely to commit this crime...

3. Not every woman who's used for rituals was an olosho or gold-digger... Most actually genuinely loved and trusted these men...

4. It's ridiculous to be content advising women to avoid Nigerian men when you could instead advise your gender to stop being a threat... In no normal society is ritual killings normal... Don't make Nigerian women think it is...

There's a lot of threads and comments by men advising the ladies to avoid dating Yahoo boys and ritualists...

Here's my response...

1. Neither 'ritualist' nor 'yahoo boy' is written on the forehead of a man... Most of these criminals usually look innocent and incapable of committing these crimes... Apart from those who purposefully go out of their way to look the part (dye their hair, dreads, chains, rugged jeans, etc) most Yahoo boys and ritualists delibrately keep a low profile to avoid being detected... It prevents them from being arrested and it helps them lure their victims easily... Your neighbour, your cousin, even the man you sit besides in church or pray with in the mosque could be a ritualist...

2. Telling women to avoid dating rich men is the worse advice... Most of these ritualists pretend to be wealthy but in reality, they are desperate poor men. Those more likely to commit these crimes, fraud and rituals, are men who have probably not made their first millions... A poor man is a hundred times more likely to be pushed by his circumstances to engage in criminal activities than a man who's living comfortably... So if you really care about the wellbeing of women, you would rather advise them to settle with a rich man who made his wealth cleanly... Or a foreigner... Or remain single as she builds her own wealth... But NEVER date a poor Nigerian man who could easily be intimidated by his well-to-do mates and pressured to do anything necessary to follow in their footsteps.

YAHOO BOYS AREN'T RICH, THEY ARE POOR.

POOR MEN ARE LIABLE TO ENGAGE IN RITUALS THAN RICH MEN.


3. Not every victim of rituals was lured with the promise of a lavish lifestyle... especially if the victim was a woman. There's a lot of victim blaming and it's sickening... Not every female victim of rituals was an 'olosho' or 'gold-digger'... That's as stupid as assuming that every male victim of rituals was lured with the promise of a free drink or sex, and it's hypocritical that most men here make the first argument but never the second... Most ritualists actually take their time to know, date and win the trust of their targets, in this case, the innocent girls... A lot of these ritualists have been introduced to the families of these girls as prospective partners...

4. It's ignorant and delibrately wicked and evil-encouraging to spend your time giving advice upon advice to women to beware of these sort of men... When you haven't made a single effort to put a stop to the actions of the yahoo boys...
Is it seriously easier to put a question mark on men than it is to advise your gender to stop killing women? Every man seems to have a word of advice for the woman next door, but not for the fifteen year olds luring children to the bush to butcher them up! Are you content that nearly every Nigerian man is either into fraud or skull mining?

Because this should a wakening call for Nigerian men to work together get their gender into the line back afain... Teach them to be decent and normal and hardworking... And not greedy and opportunistic and fetish...

But it seems every case of rituals is turned around by men, who ought to be ashamed, into a playground to slut-shame the victims...

It has no meaning. I do normally engage with foreigners whenever they ask more info about Nigeria.

Some really have big misconceptions about Nigeria but I think our musical artists are really changing some with their extra talented performance not just in Africa but in the world at large

So many foreigners really wish to come to Nigeria cos they would want to experience some of the things they have heard about us in first hand

I don't care to brag about our entertainment industry... To me, it's still crap... And is that all Nigeria has to offer?

I'm talking about insecurity... The economy... Ethnic intolerance... Etc...

This is someone I'm dating, I expect **** to travel here next year...

Well, not really, I am quite cold and reserved, an introvert.

I think there are advances though (if I can interpret some gestures as such) but I don't want to be a tool that a girl just wan use shine, so i focus on my future instead, i'm a virgin.

the previous girl is much like me, so she is quite confident. I also notice that after she left, girls became more friendly with me, but I am very cold, which is actually a turn-off, most people will rather avoid me, since they don't know what to expect, only my friends knows i'm a lamb, others think i'm a lion, and she was confident cause she is like that herself.
