Jobs/Vacancies / From Unemployed To Ceo(part2).how These 3-founders Turned Adversity Into Success by equilogng: 5:19pm On Aug 20, 2018
Talent and hard work are more fashionable than character. It’s well known that if someone has both in good measure – with a little luck – success is sure to follow. But when the dice do not fall in your favour, it’s character that counts.

A period of unemployment is a setback that seriously tests your character. Confidence, a quality that rightly or wrongly has a huge impact on our success, can take a heavy knock. Financial risks become more pronounced as your savings dwindle. It’s easy to see why people would want to play it safe.

Yet not everyone does. For some people, redundancy or even long-term unemployment can be the crucible out of which they forge a new career or even build a business. MT recently spoke to three entrepreneurs who started their businesses after losing their spot on the slippery pole.

Here’s how they did it.

"STORY 1"

Faye Savory, Bear Hugs

I took a job as a speech therapist on the Isle of Lewis in 2012, straight out of university. I used to make jewellery to sell on Etsy, so I suppose I’ve always been a little that way inclined, but I never thought I’d make a full-time business out of it. I had my career, and that’ s what I was going to do.

Within six months I noticed a decline in my health, but nobody could tell me what was wrong with me. I struggled to walk, to wash, dress and feed myself. Within the year, I had to resign and move back to Sheffield, where I found out I had Lyme disease.

With a little bit of treatment, I started to get some strength back. I realised I had maybe an hour or two a week that I could do something. Unfortunately, jobs don’t exist for those one or two hours here or there when you’re feeling up to it.

One day, I had a package through the post from a friend. It was tough day and it completely turned it around. That kind of stuck with me, and I had the very loose idea of starting a business around sending boxes of nice things to people through the post, but it wasn’t a plan for a business.

Then my mum gave me a ring and said she’d picked up this leaflet about the Prince’s Trust enterprise programme, which helps young people start their business. I started in January 2015. They helped me with some market research, and gave me a grant to buy in materials for some prototype boxes, which I sold on Etsy.

"STORY 2"

Kill Unemployment before it ruins you!..CEOs of Nubian Diamonds Agency

Students and graduates have been advised to discover their inner talents in order to escape the dragnet of unemployment in the Nigerian economy, instead of waiting for government created jobs.

This advice was given by the joint CEOs of Nubian Diamonds Agency Oyelami Adesina and Olawale Aina, both 400 levels students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, studying Physics and Animal Production & Health respectively.

For them, waiting for the government is not a viable option for anyone who intends to be successful in life.

"Youths should start looking inward and study themselves to find their talents and abilities.

"Get a skill, don't wait for anybody! learn something new, something the next person doesn't know and try to build a brand and business for yourself," 23-year-old Adesina said.

"We've looked for a way to be self-employed, so the youths and students can do it too, just find your self.

"Be a dancer, singer, hair stylist and still make good money and name for your self,," Aina added.

Stating that "it is very possible to be a student and an entrepreneur" at the same adding, Aina warned that starting is not always easy, especially if academics is combined.

"Being a student and an entrepreneur at the same time is a very difficult task that needs God's grace and dedication for both to go together because you are faced with school, where you have to be at class everyday and also read for exam and the business aspect that required travelling all the time in order to strike deals," he said.

For Adesina, the key to success is finding a balance between academic and obligations.

"It hasn't been easy, but we give priority to one at a time.

"We know when its time to Write notes, attend Lectures and read as well and also when its time to travel to a location for a shoot or to organise a show or an event" Adesina said.

It has been a successful journey for the young CEOs who started out as lone wolves in the quiet city of Ogbomoso with capital sourced from personal savings and family.

"It was by God's grace, from our parents support and our personal money, that we could get funds to start up the business," Aina said.

Two years on, their Nubian Diamonds brand become one of the biggest modeling agencies in Oyo state with over 35 models.

Adesina, like his partner is proud of the progress.

"Our brand is so dear to us because we sacrifice a lot to make sure what ever we do comes out successful," he said.

In August, Nubian Diamonds Agency organized a highly successful Fashion show, the Nubian Runway and Fashion Show(N.R.F.S), in Obomosho, Oyo State.

NFRS hosted fashion designers, models, make-up artists, fashion dealers, fashion accessories designers and exhibitors to showcase their services and products.

The duo advised parents to support their students.

"STORY 3"

Farida Gibbs, Gibbs Hybrid Workforce Solutions

We were brought up in a very disciplined and strict environment. I wasn’t allowed to go out with friends, I grew up with my three younger siblings. From the age of 13, I would wake up at 4.30am to prepare the papers for my father’s newsagents. As soon as I came back from school, I’d take over from him so he could have a break, and help him shut down at 7.30pm and do all the takings. I enjoyed it more than school, selling, chatting to customers, filling up the crisp boxes.

My parents divorced when I was 16, and I stepped into my father’s shoes and looked after my mum. I’d finish college, then go to work at a call centre until 10 or 11pm, while also helping to raise my brothers and sisters. I went to university to please my parents, but when I graduated I realised I wasn’t earning enough and had this huge student debt. My sister, who happened to be in recruitment, suggested getting into sales to help pay it off, so I did.

I worked for tech recruitment companies, but found myself becoming very discontent. It was all about the commission, not how the customer was feeling. I found myself going back to when I was in the newsagents, being my own boss and creating ideas. If I had my own company, I’d think, this is what I would do. I even started writing a business plan in the background, in case one day it came to fruition, but I didn’t have the cash to do it.

THE MAN BEHIND TECNO PHONE-NNAMDI EZEIGBO

Nnamdi Ezeigbo is the founder and CEO of SLOT systems limited, and also the brain behind TECNO and INFINIX, the fastest selling phone brands in Nigeria. Many people are not even aware that these popular phone brands are the brainchild of a fellow Nigerian. His success story is a very remarkable one.

Nnamdi Ezeigbo studied Electrical Electronics Engineering at the Yaba College of Technology in 1988, and got a Higher National Diploma (HND), before serving his country, Nigeria, during his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) year at Guinness Nigeria PLC, in 1996.

After completing his youth service year, Nnamdi Ezeigbo tried to no avail to secure a job with a company in Nigeria. With no promising signs of any potential employment, he went on to work as an apprentice learning how to repair computers. After which he launched out on his own to repair computers for individuals. Since he didn’t have any cash at the time, he had to squat with a friend of his at Ikeja, who owned a book store. His customer base grew, largely because of his honesty and the premium he placed on customer service.

The mutual trust and good relationship with his customers, was what gave him his first break in business. One day, an old customer he knew from his days as an apprentice, came to his little shop to see him. He told him he would love him to continue fixing his computers, but would prefer he operated from a larger and more serene environment. To help him out, the customer brought some printers for Nnamdi to sell, from which he used the proceeds to setup a new shop for himself. He paid for the store at a then price of 180,000 Naira (He later bought that same store many years later for 100 million Naira).

From his new store, he began to sell computers. As his business grew, a lot of customers started to both demand for slot stores in areas close to their vicinities, and to ask if they sold mobile phones. With a keen eye to spot opportunity when it presents itself, Nnamdi Ezeigbo immediately expanded his business to also cover the sale of mobile phones.

With no real knowledge on how to manage a growing business, Nnamdi decided to enrol for an MBA program at the prestigious Lagos Business School. He also began to attend many workshops on entrepreneurship, and that helped to sharpen his business acumen and develop his legendary entrepreneurial prowess.

During this process, he and his team decided to take a 5 year route to build a strong reputation for their brand. By the time the projection had elapsed, the Slot brand name was the most reputable mobile phone retailer in the whole country.

The rise of telecommunication networks created many opportunities in the Nigerian market. Their poor services caused many Nigerians to purchase more than one mobile phone, so they could try a different network when the other was bad. Nnamdi realised this problem early on, and approached Nokia in a bid to convince them to manufacture dual sim phones for Nigerians, so they would carry only one mobile phone at a time instead of two. They refused to listen because, seeing people carry more of their phones meant more phone sales for them.

According to his interview with Nairametrics, Nnamdi said;

*“So I went to China and got a guy who had worked with a company called Bird then. Bird was into phones but they got choked and lost market share. I met with the guy and asked the guy to let us do something. I came with that name and I registered it here and brought the guy to Nigeria. And that was the high point of our business. We came together and I designed the first Tecno phone, Tecno T101. We started it but the market did not accept it and we also had problem with the dual SIM not working together and we had to make corrections and we came with Tecno 201 and that was a bit accepted by the market. But we were basically giving marketers on credit to sell the phones and then pay us later. And I was funding it all alone.”*

*“Since I was funding it alone, we were finding it difficult to get the right quantity to sell until the market started accepting us. What I now did was to make them pay in advance, I mean the dealers. So we started using their money to order the products. This was around 2007. The introduction of Tecno brand was the turning point of our business.”*

*“Like I said, Tecno is my baby and we kept improving. I knew a day would come when the middle class would accept Tecno. Initially, it was a phone for low income people but based on improvement and upping our game, the middle class had to accept it and when the economy went down in 2008 that helped Tecno to move to the top. Since purchasing power had dropped, they had to go for something that have same capabilities but cheaper. So with N15,000, you could buy a Smartphone and thank God for 3G network. The advent of 3G network actually helped Tecno to move up. So students who could not afford to buy phones in the range of N30,000 could buy one for N15,000 and enjoy features of Smartphone like Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp and so on.”*

Today, Nnamdi Ezeigbo is a phenomenal success story in Nigeria and indeed Africa. From a humble repair man, he has built a MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR company and one of the most recognizable brand in Nigeria.

There are many lessons in this story.

Pay attention to your business no matter how small it is today, it can be the seed of a global company tomorrow.

Integrity in business is extremely important, it will open doors for you, and speak for you, even when you are not present.

When you see opportunities, grab it and run with it. Nokia refused Nnamdi’s idea, Nokia was mighty and Nnamdi was nobody, but today because Nnamdi believed in his idea and grabbed the opportunity, Tecno is everywhere, and Nokia is dead. How are the mighty fallen? Run with your idea, and this too will be your story.

Keep improving your products and services every day. Nnamdi kept improving Tecno steadily until it became an accepted brand in Nigeria.

Most importantly, the greatest investment you will make is an investment in yourself. As a business man, if you can afford a business school, enroll.

Don’t waste your time crying over the economy of the nation, there is nothing you can do about it, but there is a lot you can do about yourself.

Think positive.Acquire a Skill today!

*Like Nnamdi you can change your world.

Understanding Crane hazard in lifting operation!

10 Steps to Prevent Crane Accident

Human error is the most common cause of crane accidents. This extends to both crane operators and those workers responsible for maintenance and safety procedures. Accidents often occur when crane maintenance and operating procedures don’t keep up with the increasing risks and demands placed on the crane.
Many accidents result from a breakdown in communication between the project manager, site supervisor, the operator and the workers on the ground. Accidents also occur when workers fail to follow safe work practices and procedures.
While a crane may appear to be a simple device, its operation involves complex physics. You don’t need to be an engineer to operate cranes safely, but everyone involved with their operation should be aware of and follow some basic steps for safe operation. Here are the steps I recommend:
1. Complete an Inspection. Verifying that the crane has received its annual inspection is only the first required step. It’s critical to check the operating functions daily to ensure
all components are working properly. Experienced and inexperienced operators are often surprised to discover they may have inadvertently pushed the crane beyond its limits and damaged key components of the crane that could lead to failure.
2. Always complete a Field Level Hazard Assessment. A Field Level Hazard Assessment is the process where you: Identify site & job specific hazards, Evaluate the risk associated with the hazards identified, and Eliminate or control the hazards prior to and during the work task.
3. Complete a plan. Each lift is different from another, and it’s important to review all hazards, the load weight capacities, integrity of the equipment, the possible effect of
wind, and other factors. The operator, riggers, and other workers involved with the lift must be part of that planning process.
4. Communicate the Plan.
The purpose of a “Tool Box” or “Tailgate” meeting is to:
· Communicate – Hazards & Controls for the site specific task
· Communicate – Safe Work Practices & Procedures to be followed
· Communicate – The Plan to successfully complete the task
· Communicate – Assign clear roles & responsibilities to the ground crew
· Communicate – Agree to the plan and sign off on the plan
5. Follow the Plan. Far too often accidents occur when the agreed upon plan is not followed or enforced.
6. Know your Ground Conditions. The most powerful, carefully rigged crane is only as strong and stable as the surface upon which it stands. You need to know the
classification for the soil or other material under the crane, and adjust your setup and load limits accordingly. While many cranes are equipped with outriggers, extending them doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ve provided a stable surface. It’s important to know the load weight and how that is affected by the conditions of your jobsite. The crane’s load chart can help you determine whether your lift will be safe.
7. Know your Radius. The counterweight and boom travel within a specific arc is called the swing radius. It’s important to ensure that the area within that radius is barricaded off. It is critically important to establish a control zone for those authorized to work in the immediate area. Constantly check the area throughout the day to ensure that there are no objects the boom might strike. If obstacles are introduced, be sure that the operator and other workers are aware of the obstacle and the plan for avoiding it.
8. Use your crane properly. Cranes are engineered for vertical lifting. That doesn’t stop some crews from trying to use them for side loading or other improper activities. Using a crane to drag something across the ground or from under an obstacle puts extreme stress on the boom, the turntable, and all the structural members. It could potentially weaken key components and lead to their failure.
9. Communication. Whether you use radios, air horns, hand signals, or some other method, there needs to be clear communication between the operator and the other workers. That’s especially critical when a crane is making a lift in which the operator cannot see the load. Don’t assume that everyone knows how instructions will be communicated. Make sure everyone understands the system and follows it. (See Communicate the Plan)
10. Stay Focused. Everyone associated with a crane needs to stay alert and focused on the job at hand – especially on critical or difficult lifts. The lack of focus is a common cause of work related accidents, incidents and serious near-miss events.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Use Linkedin To Find Your Next Job by equilogng: 4:54pm On Aug 15, 2018
I turned on the TV recently and saw a “CBS This Morning” interview with Jeff Weiner, CEO of LinkedIn. Needless to say, it inspired me to sit down and write. After all, I was receiving information on how to boost your LinkedIn profile during a job search straight from the CEO's mouth, so I had to share.

Why should you use LinkedIn for your job search?

It's no secret that LinkedIn is the top professional social networking site with 133 million users in the U.S. alone, and reaching 200 countries and territories around the world. Per the Jobvite Recruiter Nation Survey, 87 percent of recruiters use LinkedIn as part of their candidate search. As a professional or student, it's the popular place to network and look for job opportunities; former U.S. President Barack Obama even once joked during a TV press conference that he would join LinkedIn for help getting a job after his term was up!

The issue is that if you're only updating your profile now and then, you're not fully utilizing all LinkedIn can do for you, which includes taking hours off of your job search when compared to having to do it offline. Below are some tactical tips on how you can leverage LinkedIn to its fullest to expand your professional network and land your next job.

On CBS This Morning, LinkedIn’s CEO noted the following three tips to maximize the potential of your LinkedIn profile:

Keep your profile up to date.

Be comprehensive about current skills and objectives.

Highlight your recent experience.

When asked what was most important about a candidate's profile and how to make the best use of the platform, Weiner responded that first and foremost "authenticity" was important.

"Be yourself, represent who you are. It's not just your experiences; this is not a resume ... This is a more dynamic approach to representing your experiences, your skills, your objectives, what you know, what you're interested in within a professional context," Weiner explained. "It's not just about the comprehensiveness; it's also about freshness of the information, and the more complete and the more fresh, the more recent that that information has been updated, the more opportunities that are going to accrue to our members."
14 ways to use LinkedIn to get a job.

In addition to Weiner's advice, I've added 11 more actions you can take to leverage LinkedIn for maximum efficiency in securing your next position. For the sake of this article, let's say your favorite company that you just can't wait to work for is called Gone Bananas. Follow these tips on how to leverage LinkedIn, and you’ll be an employee of Gone Bananas soon!

1. Keep your profile up to date. LinkedIn members with a profile picture are 14 times more likely to receive page views, while those who post skills are 13 times more likely to have profile views compared to those who don't, per LinkedIn's blog. There are more than 45,000 skills to choose from on LinkedIn to beef up your profile, so if you want Gone Bananas to notice you, make sure to regularly update your profile, add a profile photo, and include your notable skills.

2. Be comprehensive about current skills and objectives. To ensure you’re using LinkedIn to find a job correctly, don't leave anything out about your current skills and objectives. Use your headline to share your main objective if it makes sense, and add all of your skills to your page, as mentioned in "Keep your profile up to date" above. You don't want it to look like you haven't updated your page in a while, as recruiters and companies might pass you by if it does.

3. Highlight recent experience. You want your recent experience evident to anyone who views your page, especially when you're actively engaging with connections and companies to land a job — which is the reason you're likely reading this post, after all.

4. Update your headline. Your photo, name, and headline (which is listed below your photo) are the only items people see when they do a search. Your headline should stand out and highlight what you do or what type of position you're looking for. "HR professional connecting employees with management" are examples of headlines that are clear and might grab attention when compared to plain-Jane headlines like "Chemical engineer in public sector."

5. Let people know you're available. If you can announce the fact that you're looking for a job, do so. Use your headline to make the announcement. For example, "Writer seeking businesses in need of a friendly ghost (or ghostwriter)" and "Petroleum engineer ready to strike oil and make you rich" might catch a recruiter or hiring manager's attention.

6. Build your network to the 1st degree. Your connections can exponentially increase your exposure and access to other connections. LinkedIn makes it easy to connect with people you know by importing your contact lists from sites such as Gmail.

7. Research the companies you're interested in and follow them. LinkedIn makes it easy to find and follow companies. If you haven't already done so, make a list of the companies you'd like to work for and follow them on LinkedIn. This will help you stay in the know about company news and new positions as they become available.

8. Use the Advanced Search. Use LinkedIn's Advanced Search option and do a search on your favorite companies. Find out who of your connections is associated with Gone Bananas, for example, and make a list. You can reach out to these people depending on their connection with Gone Bananas. If they work there, you can ask questions about the company culture. If they are a client or service provider, you can ask what it's like to do business with them. Get creative and have fun doing your research so you can navigate how to best approach the company for a job when you're ready.

9. Ask for an introduction. Once you're ready to reach out to Gone Bananas, you can ask your connection(s) to make an introduction to someone they're connected to within the organization.

10. Look for alumni associated with your college or university. Doing a search for your college or university is a great way to connect with alumni who went to the same school as you. You can reach out to them and share this common interest to help you land your next job.

Entrepreneur, trainer, speaker, consultant, and author, Shelley Roth, has been "helping individuals, organizations, and teams improve their effectiveness and results by changing the way they think about social media and business." When I asked her what advice she gives to help others leverage LinkedIn, utilizing your alumni network was key.

"I would suggest that one of the best, easiest ways to leverage the power of LinkedIn is through using the Alumni tool. You can first join [or follow] your alumni college and then search for past alumni at companies or places of employment you are interested in," she elaborated, "You also can input any college and search to see how many degrees of separation you may be from alumni at any school."

Shelley is President & Chief Navigator of the Houston-based organization, Springboard, and author of several books, including Give to Grow: 9 Principles for Conscious Business, Social Media and Life.

11. Be more than a wallflower. Be active on LinkedIn, and as Weiner suggests, be authentic and current. Post any articles you write, videos you post, and so on, as updates. Get involved with groups, and interact with others on LinkedIn. The more you interact and post as a professional, the more you'll be noticed and build recognition.

12. Get involved in LinkedIn Professional Groups. Do an Advanced Search to identify professional groups in your area and get involved. This will help expand your network, show your expertise (when you engage in online conversations and answer questions that come up), and possibly connect you to the organizations you want to work for in the future. When researching groups, you want to participate in groups that have recent activity. Otherwise, you might be wasting your time if a group doesn't have daily or regular interaction online.

13. Research your future boss and executive team. Before going in for an interview, you can use LinkedIn to research hiring managers and interviewers to find out about their likes, interests, and more. You can leverage this information during your interview to create relateability and show that you've done your homework.

14. Network after business hours. According to Mashable, statistics show that only 8.33 percent of Americans use LinkedIn during working hours compared to other social media sites, such as Facebook (with almost 30 percent of people using it during work hours), indicating that you might get more interaction and exposure if you update your status, network, and connect with people and companies after business hours on LinkedIn. Test this out at different times of the day to see what works best in getting responses and other interactions.

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Use Linkedin To Find Your Next Job by equilogng: 4:36pm On Aug 15, 2018
If you're in transition and looking for a new job or you're contemplating changing jobs, there's nothing more powerful than learning how to be efficient and effective on LinkedIn. Being listed on LinkedIn is a must. A study by Microsoft revealed that 70 percent of employers have rejected job candidates because of information they found online about those candidates. Yet, the same study suggests that 85 percent of employers say a positive online reputation influences their decision. Those are pretty convincing numbers.

Here are some facts:

* Recruiters and employers prefer dealing with applicants they can check out and trust.
* People spend more time on social media than on e-mail. LinkedIn is in the social media for business.

* Recruiter don't rely solely on the info you present in your resume but the ones on your social handles. So they could get at the real persona behind the beautiful CV presented by you.
*The internet can make or break your image. What you have on your social media(Might even be what you don't want anyone to know about you) is as important as your Certificate.

The power of LinkedIn lies in the fact that you can connect with people who influence decision-making regarding whom to hire. In turn, you too can research the company you're targeting, the hiring manager there and even the culture of the company. Sixty percent of hiring decisions are based on a candidate's fit with the company's culture.

By joining professional and alumni groups on LinkedIn, you can participate in online discussions as well as answer questions, thus becoming prominent -- and even possibly viewed as an expert. (Companies love hiring experts.) Additionally, recruiters scour professional groups in search of experts.

When you're in transition, it's important to know the right people but also important that they know you and that they get reminded of what you're looking for. Therefore, it's advisable to invite people to connect with you on LinkedIn. When you send an invitation, personalize your message, address the person by name, include a reminder about your commonality or mention how you came across them and ask whether they would be willing to connect with you.

When looking for opportunities, go to the home page and type in the search field the name of a company of interest. Perform an Advanced search via the filters available on the top. Then customize the screen to your circumstances. From that list, select and invite the people you want to connect with.

Jobs/Vacancies / How To Overcome Unemployment Crisis. Say “no” To Unemployment!"part 1" by equilogng: 4:13pm On Aug 13, 2018
How to overcome unemployment crisis. Say “No” to unemployment!

UNEMPLOYMENT: CAUSES AND POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

In the world, we have three categories of people: employed, underemployed and unemployed.
Unemployment has broken marriages, destroyed homes and turned graduates into cyber or armed criminals which is detrimental to our society’s progress and must be brought to an end before it spreads its tentacles to an unstoppable length.

Graduate Unemployment comes about due to a mismatch between the aspirations of graduates and the employment opportunities available. It was found that two factors are important regarding this tight spot, namely incidence and duration.

According to statistics, around 400,000 to 1million graduates are annually passed out to the job market to compete for about 9,000 available jobs.

The good news is that you; the fresh Graduate, can be part of the solution to Graduate Unemployment. Before the Government sets up more industries and institutions to create more job opportunities, you can be part of the solution by taking on a multi facet approach involving change of attitude, determination, endurance and value addition. Based on real life experience, the writer tries to delineate some of the solutions to this problem.

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS TO GRADUATE UNEMPLOYMENT

Develop a positive attitude towards employment.

Evaluate yourself by asking yourself the following;

A. Is paid job right for me?

B. What am i doing wrong in my job search?

C. What can i do to add value

Just appreciate the fact that work can be got from both the formal and informal sectors. No matter the size and location of the company or status of the manager and the worth of the initial package, the priority now is entering the world of work; you may start little and gradually grow big, look at sustainability and acquition of experience.

Believe in yourself and compete for the available opportunity. Do not be intimidated by the conviction that there are millions of job seekers competing for that job.

The employers are aware of this too, but they are still looking for the best; who knows, you could be the best. Cherish those exceptional qualities within you on top of your qualifications.

Keep connected to the Alumni Association. You are now an alumnus of a University, keep in touch with this association, present your up to date telephone contacts and Email address to the Offices. You will acquire links with people who are strategically placed in the world of work from this association. Consequently, you can get connected to a good job via the Alumni Association.

Serve as a Volunteer.

Lay down your self-worth and aspirations, and offer your skills free of charge to that organization of your dreams. It should be an organization that values your skills and has a patent Recruitment Policy. The strategy may work best in educational Institutions but make sure that your CGPA is sound. The secret here is to acquire the in demand working experience and create a value. This has the potential of boosting your self-confidence and widens your network.

Search out for the latest information on jobs broadly.

In the absence of the annual National Company’s Graduate Employer Job Profile Guide Book, you must always keep abreast with info on employment. Read Newspapers, tune in to Radio, exploit the social media such Face book, once in awhile move to that company, and inquire from those already in employment for any available vacancies.

Never give up on the job search, remember; the coldest moment at the funeral night, is the hour right before dawn.

Target the Youth Entrepreneurship Forum. This was an initiative by the Government agencies intended to provide the Youth with entrepreneurship skills and business management skills. It was intended to enable the youth create their own enterprises. Despite the tailbacks met in the implementation process, the scheme is still en route; you can team up and give it an apt attempt.

program and others will teach you how to communicate well with people, work in groups, and build self-confidence. All these elements are important in equipping you for

your new job.

Network

Remember that many people get jobs through referrals, so be ready to network with as many people as possible, at any given occasion. Statistics show that the majority

of the people get their jobs through referrals. The employer will trust the employee who refers the new candidate to the company.
Create account on good social network online like LinkedIn.com and Aboutme.com and even

If Yes, then;

Acquire additional skills.

Well done, you are now a bona fide graduate, an Accountant, a Lawyer, Graphic designer, Counselor, Public Administrator, Teacher, Tourism expert, et cetera; but the

reality is, you a specialist in only that area. In view of the prevailing circumstances take conscious efforts to attain additional skills by taking up short courses

in new areas like; Computer skills, Management skills, Report writing, Result oriented management, Project planning, and Monitoring & Evaluation. This will in turn

supplement the skills you already have. Post Graduate qualifications can complement you in case you have the capacity. There are many sites online where you can learn

new skills for free e.g udemy.com,lydia.org,coursera.org etc I learnt social medial courses online in 2015 it was that platform that made me a CEO and employer of labour.

Venture into Vocation.

By venturing into vocation, you are adding worth to your profession thereby aligning yourself strategically for job creation. Expertise in Intensive farming, Green house gardening,Solar Energy,Crane Operator Training, modern carpentry, Metal fabrication, electrical installation and Defensive driving techniques can in effect turn you from a job seeker to a job creator if made parallel to your degree. The hidden program here is preparation for self employment.

Personally,i am of the opinion that your unemployment today is an opportunity to change your status from a job seeker to Job provider!
