Ballzproblem2:Very sad anime man... I almost cried at the end It's weird af...but also very emotional... I love the show |
NeoWanZaeed:Even if it's plot is mid...I expected more from characters and worldbuilding. No, it's not a remake...it's an adaptation of a Korean power fantasy manhwa... It became popular and led the way for many other Korean power fantasy manhwa like The Gamer, etc... They're basically all the same...zero plot, zero characters, just fights all through |
NeoWanZaeed:I don't know why you're asking this honestly when I've stated the issues in my original post and even the post you quoted... Here it is...incase you forgot Erenjp: |
Next movies on my rewatch list. I watched these movies so long ago I can't remember anything about them

The Shambolic animation of Invincible season 2 keeps killing my immersion and taking me out of it. If only the producers were smart enough to channel all the money wasted on celebrity voice actors into the animation department instead... We're in 2024 yet Invincible is still parading 2002 animation |
NeoWanZaeed:To some of us...we care a lot about character writing, themes and world building... These are things that even you can tell the show does poorly... It's way to focused on the MC growing from being weak to being strong that every other aspect of the show suffers... |
Phant0mStranger:Japanese has always sounded pleasant. Those who watch anime can relate... They have the best voice actors in the world imo... And the Japanese spoken in anime is less formal than that in their movies... The one in anime sounds even better than the one in Japanese movies Look at the voice actors of Madara, Aizen, Toji and Dio, Zeno Zokydk, Netero etc |
Solo Levelling ....... 5.5/10 If I had to describe this show in a single phrase, it is "power fantasy and nothing else". The show doesn't hide what it is. It just focuses on a character who goes from being the weakest Hunter to being the strongest Hunter. Nothing else in-between matters. Character writing is non-existent. You could as well delete all the other characters from the show and almost nothing will change. Every other character apart from the MC is as basic as they come... They are just stereotypes with no personality... Any level of importance they have is only for the MC's benefit... Thus every other character suffers as a result. Worldbuilding is also quite disappointing. I'm not a fan of the R P G world elements...but it can be done right for instance F r i e r e n In this show's case, even the few aspects of the world that could be somewhat interesting is given so little screentime since the entire story must always revolve around the MC. 12 episodes and yet they couldn't even do anything with the political elements introduced within the show... Story?...there is no story.... monsters of the week Every episode is the same. MC takes video game type quests and fights in dungeons...survives and gain better abilities....rinse and repeat... Fights.... This is only somewhat good thing about it...the fight scenes are good...however since they lack any emotional attachment and it's mostly just monsters the MC keeps fighting, there is no impact. It's just like watching someone kill AI monsters in a video game for hours.... It gets boring really fast... Just as I compared how it handled it's R P G world to F r i e r e n, I'll also compare how it handles combat to Jujutsu Kaisen. Jujutsu Kaisen excels because it's story and character writing are conveyed through it's fights. Characters learn through fights, characters grow through fights. The plot moves forward through fights... That way each fight is actually impactful to the story... In Solo Levelling it is quite the opposite. It is mostly just fights with random monsters with reward of levelling up. The few moments of character growth in fighting revolve only around the MC since every other character in the show might as well not be called characters... Another difference with JJK is that JJK has a well thought out power system. In Solo Levelling, it's all about the MC levelling up and unlocking random skills to use against the next monsters of the week he fights. To round up, I didn't expect much story from the show...but I was still disappointed. The few moments or bits of the world that actually piqued my interest were quickly sidelined in 30 seconds conversations between side characters...all in favour of watching the MC fight the next random monster in the next random dungeon Truly one of the anime of all time to be quickly forgotten until the next season airs and people watch for fight scenes again

Parasyte: The Grey teaser Seems to be a spin-off based off the anime/manga of the same name rather than a direct adaptation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-TwWrep9QA?si=rJVqEgnGJe2dexQe |
blingxx:It's better to just ignore the clôwn |
New AOT Final season Volume 5 Blu-ray Cover Eren standing atop a hill of corpses and bones... Pretty nice symbolism showing the weight and cost of his choices
|
NeoWanZaeed:Didn't know it was out... Thanks |
armadeo:Kengan Ashura... I only saw like the first 1 or 2 seasons... I prefer Baki over it |
Cypherhendrix:Korra is literally the worst Avatar canonically |
armadeo:@ bolded Calm down...let's see how it progresses... Too early to tell. But it's epic so far tho... The political scheming is very well done. That assassination attempt too was crazy...the maid just dey kill instantly...no long story at all |
abduleez1:@ bolded Vinland Saga S2, AOT, Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen aired in 2023. Blue Eye Samurai was good, but no way it was among the best of 2023. It isn't even an anime. Pluto too is top 5 at best |
OhBritannia:I haven't seen that guy give any movie above 6/10 It's either he watches mediocrity everyday or who knows |
The amount of lies and cope to excuse this in the comments were crazy. The dude didn't express himself well but his point is that at least in the cartoon, the Waterbenders had enough advantage and power the easily capsize most of the fire nation ships Someone said it was a surprise attack. Surprise ke? Another said the waterbenders were weak lmao. No be the same cartoon we watch? The waterbenders were certainly capable in the cartoon plus they had a full moon with their powers at Max level...they just didn't consider it. In the cartoon, the waterbenders were stronger than what the movie showed. We saw what singular waterbenders can do in the cartoon. And these guys had some master benders...even though they also had some Amateurs they were strong enough to hold that stronghold for many years. It's fiction, it needs to be entertaining, it's a plot convenience. People just need to accept these things and move on. Not spreading lies to cover up. A group of 50 waterbenders would have done insane damage to the fire nation fleet. What made them hard to attack was because they were surrounded by water. But even at that, nothing would have prevented the events tbh...they'd have just taken out more ships... Their moon spirit would still be killed anyway

Illusioneffect:There were a lot of pacing issues in AOT season 1. As someone who watches reaction videos...I rarely watch reaction videos to the Trost arc because that entire stretch from like episode 7-14 was so slow. Everything was moving at snail speed. It mostly picked up pace during the Female Titan arc |
Illusioneffect:Was honestly shocked he didn't know who Toph was. She's literally my favorite character in the show. Without the introduction of Toph and Azula in Season 2, I would have quit ATLA tbh... @ bolded, what is this weird take I keep seeing here about AOT being boring. It's only on this thread I see posts like that tbh... While I've seen some complaints of the amount of dialogue in the show... I don't see people complain of it being boring outside this thread. AOT has served as a gateway into anime for millions around the world. Many people who don't even watch anime and people who hate anime watch Attack on Titan. So I don't understand why you guys claim it's boring just because there isn't a fight scene every episode |
Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix 2024).... In my opinion, this was a pretty decent adaptation. It had its flaws but then again it had to adapt the weakest parts of the source material... Unlike the source material that had a lot of diversion and arcs that felt like filler...this was made to be far more connected. A lot of side tracking arcs were cut out...also many were intertwined... Personally I prefer a much more direct approach than all the filler and sidetracking in the source material - on that part, I'll say the story was told much better than the source material. I mean season 1 of the cartoon felt too repititive of gang running, being chased and getting captured and escaping again. It was reminiscent of how kids cartoons play out. So in summary, they adapted MOST of the key story beats well...and cut out the filler.. The part this Netflix adaptation fûcked up the plot was the final arc in the Northern Water Kingdom. The adaptation of this arc left a lot to be desired in my opinion. I was disappointed with how this adaptation handled the arc. It needed more breathing room. One more episode would have worked...plus the war felt like a way smaller scale than the cartoon (this probably is a budget issue) but the war was just not done well. Also Aang doesn't know how to waterbend at all in this adaptation. If I recall correctly he could waterbend to an extent even from the beginning of the cartoon. He used Waterbending against Zuko and his soldiers. The acting was also inconsistent...there were times of very good acting, and times you could see very amateurish acting... The cast mostly performed their roles very well but there were instances you could tell the acting was weak. Azula's actress didn't play the role well imo...she wasn't a fit at all...maybe she'll get better by season 2 because Azula wasn't even in season 1 of the cartoon. What I loved tho were some additions. They showed quite some development of Azula being a victim of Ozai's scheming....but I wished they reduced Ozai's screentime... The less screentime he has, the more fearsome he would be. This is the part I wished was reduced. There's also some weird unnecessary exposition sometimes...like a member of the Southern Water Tribe telling the story of how the Avatar disappeared...it was just not needed. The dialogue in general wasn't bad...it was decent even though it had its bad moments. The dynamic between the main trio was good but not as good as the cartoon...same as with Zuko and his uncle Iroh...good but not as good as the cartoon... The fights were good. I recall the fights in the cartoon weren't really great in season 1...until Toph and Azula's introduction in season 2. So at least in comparison, this adaptation did well in the combat...even though it wasn't as good as the cartoon. Music was pretty good. They used original tracks from the cartoon and used them well in my opinion...gave some emotional touch. The CGI was also decent. I watched in good quality and I'm not seeing where the complaints are coming from. The CGI was pretty good...I kept waiting for moments to take me out of the immersion but there really weren't... The CGI was spot on...even though they had to tone down the battles for it... Final thoughts: I think this is a pretty decent adaptation. ATLA fans should be glad they got an adaptation as good as this rather than ranting. It's definitely good enough to watch a second season. And I will definitely watch a second season because that is where the Cartoon actually got really good. I think people who are hating on this show somehow hold the cartoon as their holy grail. They watched the cartoon in their childhood and nostalgia won't let them realize that season 1 of the cartoon was not very good...it was decent at best...but a pretty weak season that even almost made me drop the show if not for it's reputation. Remove your rose-tinted glasses from the cartoon and watch this adaptation objectively...they did a pretty decent job at it... It had its flaws but nothing that makes the adaptation awful... Heck...I enjoyed this more than season 1 of the cartoon... (Aside from the last arc). I enjoyed it more because it was more streamlined and didn't need to keep adapting unnecessary arcs like the cartoon did. It wasn't repititive like season 1 of the cartoon was. @those who haven't seen this adaptation, you have nothing to fear imo...enjoy it for what it is
|
geezyk:The way some people hold the source material like it's some Holy Grail... These people forget the first season of the source material was it's weakest...maybe because they watched it during their childhood... the adaptation isn't great but it's not bad either... I feel like people are comparing the adaptation of the weakest season to the strongest parts of the cartoon... |
Illusioneffect:I don't agree with your rating... But I agree it does get boring at times... I finished One Piece at a single sitting... I slept off 3 times on an episode of this Netflix ATLA. But yet I still don't think it's bad like you're saying...it's just not as fun |
Illusioneffect:The way I see it, the only way a movie would work is if they stopped at the Zabuza arc... But at that rate, how many movies would it take to complete the entire story? Unless they wanna rush and combine everything...and then they'll introduce Orochimaru in the first movie A series would be the best bet...you can cover the entirety of OG Naruto in 2 seasons... Naruto isn't that long if you pace it better... Imagine it this way... Prologue + Team 7 Training + Zabuza arc = 3 episodes Chunin Exam + War with Sand Village = 5 episodes Total 8 episodes Season 2- Naruto Training with Jiraiya + Akatsuki attack = 2 episodes 3 legendary Sannin arc = 2 episodes Buildup to Sasuke leaving = 1 episode Sasuke Retrieval arc = 3 episodes Total 8 episodes |
NeoWanZaeed: ![]() Weren't you the one who said the adaptation so far is better than the source material? Are you sure you've seen the Source material at all? NeoWanZaeed: |
Can't wait for Toph in season 2. Watching clips of Toph 🔥🔥🔥 But I don't have hope for this Azula lol |
NeoWanZaeed:No idea |
oyaskii:I knew you'd say this... But having an ancient scroll doesn't mean you suddenly master water bending in a few days... For example I'm at episode 5 in the show and her growth in just a few days is insane... And again, even in the source material...many of the training arcs went the same way... Easy... I mean it's a common issue in most anime where kids suddenly learn in a short time what should take many years... But at least those kids mostly take a very hard route... Here it always feels weird how easy it is...with just a few words and they improve so fast... Even for Aang being the Avatar, yes he would always be able to bend all elements but shouldn't be so easy imo to learn it... Btw, at episode 5 and yet to see why you guys are calling this adaptation terrible...it's not... I can certainly see it's lows, but I think it deserves a season 2... The season 1 of the source material wasn't even great so the adaptation deserves at least a second season where it adapts the great parts of the main show |
Kaycee7:It will probably be worse...it's a movie |
even she was just dating everyone instead of saving the world (pun intended)
