Is declaring state of emergency the same as suspending democratically elected officials?
declaring a state of emergency means taking over the structure of governance in a state, so yes the governor according to the constitution will have to be suspended.

You are not asking an intelligent question. There's never a generation that was contented with the economic situation of there time. Go back and ask individuals on the streets in the 70s and 80s and hear what they think about the government at that time.

In the 70s that we all think was better, there were people like you who were busy complaining while others make things work for them. In the next twenty years, people will look back and claim today was better than their time...
the period u are referring are literally several generations ago, 201, 2015 is still within the same generation and the prices of things skyrocketed by over 500 percent in some cases. Make una dey get sense small.

that is why there should be a deliberate policy in place to safeguard customers and build trust and prevent them from preying on gullible and aged customers.

if a fraud is carried out without your knowledge, the bank will know and oftentimes the bank repairs your account without you even knowing. Once you see this type of stories just know that the customer and his account officer where doing the deal together
my point is that any bank with standards should not allow their staff to have such dealings with a customer because it violates trust, all transactions must follow the proper official chanel or else it leaves room for fraud

My forensic view, One thing I know and very sure of, The customer knows his fund was not fixed in the bank after some were fixed in the bank. Subsequent rollover was not done which the customer is aware of. The guy in question has been using the fund for personal business and has been given baba little high interest more than what fd could give. When everything scattered and the money couldn't be accounted for again, baba excalated to the bank for possible reimbursement but the funds could not be traced because baba transferred the funds directly to the guy account. Next life baba should be very careful in trusting anyone working in the bank.
So bank doesn't have any documents that could prove an insider fraud which can be used against them in the Court. If bank knows they are at fault, the account of the customer would have been regularise without any excalation.
and u reached all these assumptions based on your investigations? If u know the kinds of fraudulent activities going on within our banks especially with dormant accounts u go surprise. Most Nigeria. Bankers are just like fraudsters.

If you gave power of attorney to the banker and he relied on that to defraud you, the bank might not do much. You said it was terminated in 2022. Who signed the termination letter? Note that the bank said you had personal relationships with him. The bank could not had said that without evidence at its disposal. If you contracted the banker to be running your account for you that might personal relationships with the banker. If you decide to go to court, what will happen is for the court to ask the bank to tender evidences that you had personal relationship with the banker.
how can he give power of attorney to someone who is not related to him? How will a bank allow a customer give power of attorney to a staff except the bank itself is shady.

DeepSight:
There is a truism here. The Forbes list only accounts for those whose money can be openly and legitimately accounted for, and if they so wish.
In truth, everywhere in the world, political leaders alone often stash away FAR FAR FAR FAR greater amounts than one can find on any Forbes List.

I will never forget what was found in accounts related to Hosni Mubarak of Egypt. That alone put a lie to any "richest man" list you can find published anywhere.

And he was nothing compared to a Putin for instance - who is probably the richest man in the world.
in reality the money is never truly theirs, so it would be erroneous to evaluate them on that basis.

those African power brokers you mentioned are corrupt leaders who amassed wealth illegally. They are only able to hide their wealth because they often use third parties as fronts to launder their I'll gotten wealth to make it difficult to trace to them.

SmartPolician:
How does Forbes determine these things? I am 100% certain that these people didn't disclose their earnings to anyone because rich people, probably because of safety concerns, don't like discussing their wealth.

Given what the media has made us believe, there are people who are by far richer than these folks who made the list but they are silent kingmakers who don't want the world to know them. We have been told they are the biggest problems in our world undecided
there is a certain level of wealth that is difficult to hide. You must put the wealth in assets such as shares or capital investments the value of which can be assessed by third parties or if you decide to put it in banks, the banks are obligated to report certain amounts to appropriate authorities if ur account exceeds it, or where are u going to hide a billion dollars?

The iniative is targeted towards 4 African countries, read below:
"“Through the arrangement, Japan looks to strengthen exchanges with the four African countries by officially connecting municipalities with existing relations with those nations,” the statement stated"

Besides Japan is targeting young highly skilled professionals to shore up it's aging labour force. We need foreign investors to help build our economy not more brain drain of the few professionals we have left.

Long overdue. This rubbish must stop.

I inherited uniforms, textbooks and even sometimes old notes grin grin from my elder brother.

And I enjoyed it. Cos dude was more serious than I. His books were nearly laminated.

Why should a parent have same textbooks from older siblings but cannot give it to the younger ones cos the school have a stupid policy of always buying new. So what do I do with the ones I don't need at home?

Na that one dey vex me pass with private schools. Party own I no send.

And yes. Some extra lessons are too much. My child should leave that school by 2pm. Let them go and play small.

We closed by 2pm and we turned out great.
are these the priorities of a govt that has much more pressing matters? All these things u complained about can be easily gotten in public schools, take your kid to a public school, it is not compulsory for you to be in a private school if you cannot afford the expenses.

So what does this have to do with the death of Mohbad? It changes nothing. He is dead already and Marlian Record Label bullied him while he was alive.
Is it a crime to send money to your mother inlaw sometimes? After he left your record label, was he still receiving money from you with that account? Why didn't they kill him then?

Naira Marley should tell us another story.
it does actually, it is an indication that the wife and her family were in firm control of his assets, this gives a very strong motive for murder especially if they suspect that they are about to lose grip of those assets.

DrMuzungu:
My friend, it could be far far far worse. In my home country, registering business is easy. Very easy. However, what happens afterwards can be a nightmare. Let's say, you are running a shawarma joint.

1. You have to either rent space, or own it. If you rent it, there must be a rental contract in place, and you (not the landlord) must pay tax on the rent paid.
2. Each of the employees (yourself included) must pay taxes and other dues (roughly 40% of the money paid out) on the income you receive.
3. Each of the employees, if handling food, must have health certificate (which is ok).
4. Each of the employees must have an employment cotract present in the place of work, for inspection
5. Each of the employees must have written instructions for what to do in case of emergency
6. You MUST remit taxes on each transaction made
7. Each transaction made MUST be followed by a receipt printed by devices similar to POS devices used in Nigeria. These are automatically posted to our equivalent of FIRS.
8. All utilities are more expensive for businesses, compared to households

ANY violation of ANY rule or law is heavily penalised. Warnings are not given. If asking them about the rules before opening for business, they say it is your duty to know. And how do you know if you have nobody to ask?

Etc etc etc. God Bless Nigeria and how business works here.
which country is that? 40 Chara oooooooooooooooh
