Flat tops and descending triangles are bearish signals while ascending and flat bottoms are bullish.

price broke out of the ascending triangle yesterday
should today's candle close above .5740 then i'll be thinking long
price projection for this breakout is 482pips from the breakout level.
as the day goes by price action will give us a better picture.
i have placed two buy limit orders at .5710 and .5740
1st tp .5813 2nd .5900 3rd tp .5980
will be taking profit in all these levels but my ultimate target is the resistance trendline on the weekly chart

Toks2008: Hmm, well many of you will cut my head if i say fundamentals are mare fallacy.

Fx trading is 100% technical(thats my view) but news release only help in propelling price movement in the direction of the trend.

As a swing trader i look at the bigger picture and to blow your mind further i see euro even moving far higher to res 12840. But random moves must take its course and this is why i advised traders wait to buy euro after a retest of strong supp levels.

We see the charts differently but the swing config i see right now suggests that traders should wait to buy euro as we may see series of unsuspecting bullish advancement after a minor pullback until res 12580 get tested(my opinion)

toks, if the fx market follows strictly technical, the market will be following a strict sine wave form and we would have seen 1.8xx on EURUSD before any upward move. i belive its a combination of both fundamental and technical with technical playing a greater part.

euro should continue to wobble in a random move until res 12580 is tested. Infact i may be banking tons of 20pips with this up glide because we will be seeing series of re-bounce off strong supp levels.

the above bolded depends on if there is QE else i dont see EU climbing that high if no QE and ECB reduces rate in sept. my opinion by the way.

ECB director general of market operations, Ulrich Bindseil, is leading the plans with experts from Europe’s central banks. ECB executive board member Joerg Asmussen, Ger
many’s director at the ECB, signaled full backing for the bond rescue plan of ECB chief Dragh. Germany’s ECB board member Asmussen confirmed that bond purchases may be “unlimited” in scale.

(EU) ECB said to have approved 40 new workers to help in attempts to deal with debt crisis.

(EU) UK newspaper Daily Telegraph’s Euro-skeptic in chief, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard: Germany’s director at the ECB has thrown his weight behind mass purchases of Spanish and Italian debt to prevent the disintegration of the EMU, marking a crucial turning point in the Eurozone debt crisis (for the better).

How to interpret these headlines:

High yields in the bond markets are direct results of risk sentiments, and to cap yields, what ECB essentially is proposing is to ban “fear”. This would address underlying issues that are responsible for pushing solvent members to bailout requests, thus cutting bond speculators at their knees. Considering that Germany is backing this proposal instead of the usual opposition, market is extremely positive over this new development by pushing the EURUSD above the 1.2470 level, breaking the upper resistance of 1.2440…

With rumors flying high, especially with the new one about [b]ECB may go ahead with bond purchases despite of opposition from Germany, [/b]this is indeed a better outcome that no one saw coming, especially considering Asmussen’s support on unlimited bond purchases to cap bond yields… I believe Euro traders have what they need to BUY the Euro, as we may get official announcements in early September, this is indeed a turning point for the Eurozone debt crisis…

In conclusion, I’ll reiterate my previous article, I’d buy EURUSD on dips on potential ECB Intervention, economic improvements, and Fed’s QE3.

the euro rallied because of a potential QE and the bolded above.Fact is the if Germany resists this move, euro will fall. they are capitalizing on the fact that Germany wont pull out of euro zone.
anyway sha, i'm waiting for any sign of QE before i join the train tomorrow. If no QE, i'll be looking for opportunities to short euro. there is even a rumour that ecb will decrease the rate come 6th sept and you know what it means for euro.

yes boss. by the way, i'm still in short of nzdusd, the news last nite did not calm the nerves of investors, targeting 100 pips on it too. though 2:55pm news will say more. analysts are projecting a reversal of cad by next week, hope to buy usdcad to 1.000 though there's a support at 0.9794 and i have a pending order at 0.9800 and may join the move if it doesn't get there.

i wish to use this medium to thank naijababe for her system, it rocks and takes away so many stress from trading.

bought gbpcad and will hold my position for 100 pips based on what i'm seeing on daily. there is a strong support at 1.5465.
we wait for usd news of 2:55pm. good news for usd, sell nzdusd/audusd while for bad news, buy gbpusd( this might hit 1.58xx today if the news is bad for usd).

I would not advise any position till 1:45 news for usd.
For cad, on 1:30 news, bad news, buy gbpcad. Good news sell audcad or buy cadjpy.
