Are u a practicing lawyer in Nigeria?
CareerRe: Steps To Practicing Law In United States & Canada As An International Lawyer by ERONX(op):
Canada attracts many immigrants. Many of these immigrants have have earned a law degree and have practiced law outside of Canada.
Using Ontario as a case study, the practise of law in Ontario is governed by the Ontario Law Society Act. The Law Society Act governs both lawyers and paralegals. The regulations require that in order to be a lawyer one must complete the “lawyer licensing” process. The “lawyer licensing process” is composed of approximately ten months of “articling” (working under the supervision of a lawyer) and passing two exams. In some cases the requirement of “articling” can be either waived or abridged. In order to complete the “lawyer licensing process” one must be allowed to enter the lawyer licensing process.
NOTE: Graduates of law schools located outside of Canada are required to get a “certificate of qualification” from the National Committee on Accreditation to be allowed to enter the “lawyer licensing process”
There are various Nigerian International law firm in Canada we have firms like Kingsley Jesuorobo & Associates, Ayodele Akintunde & Co. These firms specialize in immigration laws, commercial law etc
CareerSteps To Practicing Law In United States & Canada As An International Lawyer by ERONX(op): 11:17am On Nov 28, 2016
Due to the poor and low stipend most law graduates and practicing lawyers make in Nigeria, most lawyers have resulted in practicing law abroad some of the countries where Nigerian international lawyers practice is the United States and Canada.
One important criteria to practicing law as an international lawyer in the U.S is that such person must sit for the American bar exam and must have graduated from an American Bar Association accredited school. Only the state of California and New York allows people who did not school in the United states to sit for their bar exams. After passing the bar exams you become licensed, and can now practice in the United States after obtaining the minimum employment authorization. Some lucrative aspect of the law to specialize in the United State are Commercial Law, Divorce Law, Entertainment Law etc.

Christianity EtcCan Nigerian Pastors Dress This Simple To Church? by ERONX(op): 12:26pm On Oct 23, 2016
Although I'm not a churchy type, I'm a christian, and I'm not trying to condemn any Nigerian pastor or pastors... Its a pity most Nigerian pastors live lavishly and majority of their members wallow in poverty.

I decided to go to church today Sunday after a long time, during service I discovered how simple the pastor was dressed, no flashy suits, no flashy gold rolex, no bodyguard's etc. He preached the word with utmost sincerity and I had a nice time in the presence of God. I was asked to step forward as a first timer, the pastor prayed for me and after service the members and pastors kept on welcoming me. The pastor even invited me to have lunch with his family after service which I generously turned down.

THIS IS WHAT CHRISTIANITY IS ALL ABOUT BROTHERLY LOVE.

TravelNorth Korea Sentences American Student To 15 Years In Jail For Stealing by ERONX(op): 5:29am On Oct 18, 2016
CCTV footage has emerged of the moment an American student was caught stealing a Kim-Jong-Il poster from a North Korean hotel - a crime for which he was sentenced to 15 years of hard toil.
Otto Warmbier said looting the poster was the 'worst mistake of his life' after he was sentenced to more than a decade of forced labour in a prison camp on Wednesday on charges of subversion.
North Korea's state news agency have now released grainy footage and images claiming to show the moment the 21-year-old ripped the banner from the wall.
The banner reads: "Let's arm ourselves strongly with Kim Jong-il patriotism!"
Warmbier, a student at the University of Virginia, was found guilty of attempting to steal the poster, which he said was requested by a member of his church group.
US student Otto Frederick Warmbier (R) detained in North Korea, during a press conference
Images and posters of Kim Jong-il are sacred as North Korea's leaders past and present are afforded God-like status in state propaganda.
The phrase 'Kim Jong-il patriotism' was used to glorify the late leader after his 2011 death.
In the video, Warmbier can be seen snooping around in a restructed area of Yanggakdo International Hotel hotel in Pyongyang before removing the poster, which bears white lettering on a red background.
The tour agency with which he travelled to the totalitarian state describe the destination as somewhere 'your mother would rather you stayed away from'from'

According to the tour operator, Warmbier was arrested at the airport at the end of the five-day trip.
Warmbier confessed to 'severe crimes' against the state in a statement last month.
The time stamp of one CCTV image reveals Warmbier entered the restricted area of the hotel on January 1 in the morning.
Warmbier's North Korean tour guide Mr Byon, who testified against him, confronted him after looking at the footage.
The shirt and boots worn by Warmbier at the time along with his passport, mobile phone and an ID card were also given as evidence in the trial, the footage showed.
Warmbier's fingerprints were shown to the court on a flat screen TV in attempt to match them with those found on the poster.
He appeared to ask Swedish ambassador to North Korea Torkel Stiernlöf to 'keep working' on his case as he was led from the court.
The Swedish embassy represent the US in North Korea as the country does not have any diplomatic ties.
The U.S. State Department called the sentence "unduly harsh" and White House spokesman Josh Earnest said it was "increasingly clear" that North Korea sought to use US citizens as pawns to
pursue a political agenda.
US State Department spokesman Mark Toner said: "Despite official claims that U.S. citizens arrested in the DPRK are not used for political purposes, it's increasingly clear from its very public treatment of these cases that the DPRK does exactly that."
North Korea has a long history of detaining foreigners and has jailed various Americans in the past to extract high-profile visits from the United States to secure their release.
He pleaded with judges in court Wednesday to 'please think of my family' and prayed for God to 'please save this poor scapegoat' before the sentence was handed down.

Foreign AffairsPortugal's Antonio Guterres Set To Be UN Secretary General by ERONX(op): 7:58am On Oct 14, 2016
Portugal's former Prime Minister Antonio Guterres is poised to become the next UN secretary general, UN diplomats say.
Mr Guterres, 67, was the "clear favourite", Russia's UN ambassador Vitaly Churkin announced on Wednesday.
A formal vote will take place in the UN Security Council on Thursday to confirm the choice of nominee.
Mr Guterres, who led the UN refugee agency for 10 years, will take over from Ban Ki-moon early next year.
Who is he?
An engineer by trade, Mr Guterres first entered into politics in 1976 in Portugal's first democratic election after the "Carnation revolution" that ended five decades of dictatorship.
He quickly rose in the ranks, becoming leader of the Socialist party in 1992 and was elected prime minister in 1995.
As head of the UNHCR refugee agency from 2005 to 2015, Mr Guterres led the agency through some of the world's worst refugee crises, including Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq.
During that time, he repeatedly appealed to Western states to do more to help refugees fleeing the conflicts.
Former Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva said earlier this year that Mr Guterres had "left a legacy" at the refugee agency "that means today he is a respected voice and all the world listens to him", according to the AFP news agency.
The UN's new man at the top
How has the world reacted?
Russia's ambassador and current head of the UN Security Council, Vitaly Churkin, said all the candidates had "a lot of wisdom, understanding and concern for the fate of the world," but "we have a clear favourite, and his name is Antonio Guterres".
There was some disappointment among campaigners who had hoped for a first female secretary general, or a candidate from Eastern Europe - which has never held the position.
But the process was "remarkably" uncontroversial, said Samantha Power, the US representative to the UN.
"In the end, there was just a candidate whose experience, vision, and versatility across a range of areas proved compelling," she said, adding that the process involved more scrutiny than ever before.
"People united around a person who impressed throughout the process."
The UK's Matthew Rycroft said Mr Guterres "will take the United Nations to the next level in terms of leadership" and be "a moral authority at a time when the world is divided on issues."
UN secretary general: The hardest job in the world?
Who were the other contenders?
The UN has never had a woman in the top job. Of the 13 candidates this year, seven were women, including:
Irina Bokova, 63 - Bulgarian politician and director general of Unesco
Helen Clark, 66 - former prime minister of New Zealand (1999-2008) and current head of the UN development programme
Natalia Gherman, 47 - Moldovan politician who was deputy prime minister and minister of European integration from 2013-2016
Vesna Pusic, 62 - Leader of the liberal Croatian People's Party. Served as a first deputy prime minister and minister of foreign and European affairs until January this year
Kristalina Georgieva, 63, who was announced just days ago, current European Commissioner for budget and human resources
In the end, the highest-placed woman, Irina Bokova, came fourth.
Serbian candidate Vuk Jeremic, a former president of the UN General Assembly, came second, followed by Slovakia's Miroslav Lajcak.
How is he appointed?
The 15-member Security Council cast secret ballots for each of the 10 candidates on Wednesday and none were found to oppose Mr Guterres.
They were asked to select from a choice of 'encourage', 'discourage' or 'no opinion' for each candidate, with the former Portuguese prime minister receiving 13 'encourage' votes and two 'no opinion' votes.
He beat nine other candidates, including EU budget commissioner Kristalina Georgieva from Bulgaria, to become the next UN chief.
His nomination came despite a concerted effort to appoint the UN's first female secretary general.
A formal vote will take place at 10:00 EST (15:00 BST) on Thursday to recommend Mr Guterres to the UN General Assembly, which must approve his nomination.
In January 2017, Mr Ban will stand down after 10 years at the helm.
What does a UN secretary general do?
The Security Council - with five of its members wielding vetos - is the most powerful body in the UN.
While not as powerful, the secretary general serves as the organisation's top diplomat and chief "administrative officer".
It has been described as the most impossible job in the world, says the BBC's diplomatic correspondent James Landale.
The secretary general of the United Nations has to run an unwieldy bureaucracy and manage the competing demands of the world's big powers, he adds.
A key requisite of the role is to step in both publicly and privately to prevent international disputes from escalating.
The post lasts for five years but is limited to a maximum of two terms.

TravelMy Racism Experience During A Vacation In Russia by ERONX(op): 6:22pm On Oct 13, 2016
It all happened on the 10th of October I left home in Ontario and decided to go on vacation in the beautiful city of st Petersburg with a childhood friend of mine who is White. When taking our usual tour walk with our complete papers and tourist passport, I observed that most people along the street kept on staring and moving away from us especially me....

We later discovered we've missed our way because we visited most of the tour centers with our map, so we decided to ask the locals around for help. When I approached them for direction, although we had issues with language difference they would just grin and shout out loud, some would run away and avoid me from getting close when I tried asking for direction.

I finally discovered I was been avoided because of my dark skin colour, so i asked my friend to do the questioning while I stood far away but there was no way they could help even with the map due to the language difference. They offered assistance by pointing to a police stand we went there with the intention of asking for direction, the two policemen shook hands with my white friend but ignored shaking hands with me, after giving us directions on how we could get a cab that will take us to our hotel, we thanked them and we were about leaving the policemen called us back and asked what I'm carrying in my backpack. I told him I have my papers some money and my lunch. He took the bag from me checked it himself he saw my papers were complete yet he refused returning my backpack, i got very angry and asked him to return my backpack yet he refused my friend tried pleading yet he refused...

What made me angry was because he didn't ask for the contents in my friend's backpack when he saw how furious and angry I've become, he returned the backpack and started raining abusive racist word in both Russian and English. I threatened him I would file a complaint to the Russian Police, and told him I would file legal actions against him. After threatening him, he stopped the insult and in a few minutes a police car drove to our scene i believe the locals around contacted the police. A superior officer from the police vehicle apologised on his behalf, he was also asked to apologise which he did reluctantly the most embarrassing part of it was when all the drama was unfolding the locals around gathered to catch a glimpse of what was happening while others took pictures.

We finally got back to the hotel I was very angry all through, I had to reschedule for the next flight and I went back home the next day.

All through my lifetime I have never been subjected to such a degrading and embarrassing moment.
