I would be patient just this once.

United had won a double the season prior. The same squad that had beat Barca in the SFs was that same squad coming into the UCL.

Barca were in the qualifiers. Nobody had them as favourites for anything. They had gone 2 years without winning anything and their best players were sold.

That they went on to win what they won is proof that the manager did a good job. If you don't know how to think, I cannot help you.

If Lampard wins the league today only a fool will come 10 years later to say Chelsea were one of the favourites. That is exactly what you are doing now.
