I have said it severally that Most SD Cards we buy can't match the speeds of our internal memory, hence slowing the phone down.

One reason why I advise people to buy a phone with at least 64Gb ROM. I don't play with speed.

True this.. I used my RN5A prime for a whole year without a memory card and it was so fast eh, faster than my current by far, the guy wey I sell am give still dey thank me till date..

A3 is better, the only ish is that it runs on Stock Android not MIUI...

my fone used to do exactly this until I discovered it stops anytime I unmount my SD card...I kukuma sell the card sharpardly,I can't come & go & killl myself.now my fone is as fast as whatever u may think of...Sometimes, everything is not internal software ish

I'm somehow thinking same thing O.. But I can't try it fa.. Where I go save songs put? Where my videos go dey? Na only 32gb rom I get and e don almost full sef. That's why I initially wanted to port to RN8, but as soon as d money enter hand, I just lose interest.

Yes ke.. Can't use any other pouch apart from an armoured one, no matter how ugly looking it is. It is cheaper to buy a pouch than fixing a screen

Yes to both. The sim extender makes the phone slightly elevated from the pouch and it makes the IR blaster not align perfectly. So using it as a remote, I have to either really press the phone against the pouch for the IR blaster to set well or I kukuma remove it frm the pouch. And I don't too like to remove the phone frm the pouch cos I am finich abt the sim extender getting damaged

Are you using an armoured pouch?

Moving apps to sdcard will only make your fone much much slower

The read/write speeds of an sdcard, no matter the quality, can never be compared to that of your internal emmc 5.1 storage.. And this is very crucial for app execution speeds

Sdcards are ok for media and general files tho





But am used to the internal storage life now, don't want anything slow in my fone

In all, I stil love my RN7, will choose it over any other device any day. I only wish it had dedicated mmc tray and also wish apps can be moved to mmc, without forming as internal storage.. Sometimes I try to drain my battery to 0% and start charging afresh but it seems like an impossible task. Since I bought the phone, the batter y has never died.

It's MIUI 11 that's causing the lag. Maybe when the stable version is released, the performance will be better.

Yeah. I have noticed it for a while now but didn't bring it up here cos noone has ever complained here that I have seen. I use the gestures (I hated it at first, but now I just can't do without it: It's the thing I love the most about the phone, esp toggling apps with gestures. It's fun watching people in their confusion as they try to operate my phone). When I am using an app for a long time and sudden switch to home screen, it sometimes take about 3-5 sec for all the icon on the home screen to display. Only the wallpaper shows at that brief moments, before the screen flickers briefly also as the icons appear in quick succession.
As advice by my senior Xiaomite, wil wait for the official release for version 11. Probably they noticed some bugs and are trying to fix it. Me no get time and energy for downgrade

And I been dey think say na only me.. Anyhow sha, make we manage am like that until...

Do you have an idea if a higher ram model will fix it?

I have an SD Card, that's where I store my media files.

I bn just dey wonder how I coped with my former RN5A prime that time without memory card and this same amount of apps, had over a thousand songs and few videos.

This is terrible advice.. Tomorrow when he ends up deleting his WhatsApp Backups folder (which android sees as Other Files), or deletes the files his 17GB worth of Apps use to work, and one of them starts crashing and stops functioning properly, na u go answer the Clarion Call

Oga, The advice is not terrible, I've been deleting all of those junks since I started using Xiaomi last year and I never complain, My WhatsApp dey always back up to google daily so I no dey bother.. No dey come talk like say na you know pass..
