Miui battery saver closes apps running in the background and left unused after some period of time. Whether battery saver dey on or not e dey work like that. For the apps u need not to close, go to settings - battery - choose apps - click on any app you want and select ' no restrictions'.

As for the gcam xtreme, it has a good report.

If it is memory issue, u can get a sim expander, so u wil be able to use mmc

Got my sim extender today from Jboixxx.... It is very thin. The only thick part is the sim port and its thickness is not disturbing my armoured pouch. I can now access 2 sims and mmc

I use 4Gb Ram on my RN5 no issues here.

I think this Ram management abi na optimization differs with device models..

I was using a Redmi Note 5A Prime, 3gb ram too but I never had this issue, That phone made me fall in love with Xiaomi (it was my first xiaomi anyways). That phone was extremely fast, Chai! I loved the phone, the only defect I had was the rear camera, that was the only thing deterring it from being the perfect device for me! I still dey miss am sha.. I'll still gladly recommend that phone to anyone( unless you're a camera freak like me).

I got the RN7 thinking that It'll be faster(Sd435 - Sd660) than my former, and also a better Camera and a good battery. But I only got the Camera and Battery (both are wonderful by the way), I didn't get the speed. I'm now being advised to get a 4/6gb ram version.

Now someone is complaining of his 4gb ram.

Is it that my RN5AP was a special device?

hahahahaha the beauty about xiaomi is that you dont need special skills to tweek your phone. Just go to en.miui.com and you have all you need. There are two type of 4 main types of xiaomi roms.

These are
Chines stable rom
Chines developers rom
Global stable rom
Global developers rom

I prefere the global developers rom. Its all in english
Though the chines roms gets updated faster but you have to deal with chines specific apps and there is no google apps n stores installed by default. Though there are tutorials on how to get them on your chines rom

But i will advice everyone to use the global developers rom

All you need to do is

1 Download the latest MIUI ROM for your device from http://en.miui.com/download.html

2 Connect your device to the Windows PC/laptop via a micro USB cable, and copy the ROM file downloaded in Step 1 into the folder ‘downloaded_rom’ in the internal storage of your device.

NOTE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD USING YOUR PHONE AS WELL N USING FILE EXPLORER TO MOVE THE ROM TO ‘downloaded_rom’

3 Launch ‘Updater' app on your device：
MIUI 6：Click the ‘…’ icon at the top-right corner, select ‘Choose update package’, and choose the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’ in Step 2.

Press the Menu button, select ‘Choose update package’, and choose the ROM file you’ve put in ‘downloaded_rom’ in Step 2.

After choosing the right ROM file, your device will begin upgrading. Your device should automatically boot to the new version when the update is completed.

Its simple and advisable. Xiaomi allows its devices to be rooted

My mi4 is simple, no finger scanner but i enjoy the infrared remote.

I use it to control AC, cd player, tv, rechargeable fan and its cool. My remove is busy gathering dust.

You can get to use your mmc and 2sims on RN7..... You need a sim extender. A couple of people sell here..... Jboixxx sef wey you quote, dey sell. Mine is in transit, from him

I have heard of that before.. But I won't be able to use a pouch/case on my phone cos it won't fit.

And I told you the price difference is because of the Global Version just came out.

Personally after the brick on some units of some CN RN5 on Global ROM while upgrading to Android 9, I don't advise a noob to buy a CN Version with Global ROM.

From the screenshots above do you know that the CN Version has no support for any of MTN's LTE Bands?

At least the CN Version of Redmi Note 7 and Note 5 had band 7.

If you don't plan on using either MTN, Smile or GLO 4G in most parts do go ahead. Instead I will advice you wait for Nigerian release, it is closer than you think.

Global rom isn't Global version.. That's the only thing I know, I'm still yet to understand the risks and differences between them
