In as much as roads in the country are bad,but you are doing an unbalanced reportage by showing roads in CBD's at Dubai and comparing it to roads not in CBD's in Nigeria.
There are super quality roads in FCT, Lagos ,Enugu ,Kano and akwa ibom states.
In Lagos, there are over 1000 roads. Out of that figure, can you boast that up to 2% of the roads are in good condition, devoid of potholes and dirty drainage?
We cannot be boasting with just 2% of good roads, especially when a city like Dubai has almost 95% good roads. Or don’t you believe that you deserve better?

When Fashola said that there are no bad roads in Nigeria, everyone came hard at him.

Now because our bad roads are being compared with Dubai, everyone is faulting the OP. Sincerely, this type of patriotism will get us nowhere.

Wow. It is now clear why you chose to attack the OP for exposing the sub-human condition of Nigerian roads. This is politics and religion for you.

Sorry. I don’t do politics or religion. Instead, I am in the business of calling a spade a spade.

Your country is almost $80billion in foreign debt, and there is absolutely nothing to show for it. The roads are even worse than before the loans were secured. And here you are, living in self-denial.

He showed us worst of Nigeria. That's manipulation. No one in his right sense here could make the right judgement based on the information he provided to us here. Why not leave the part that I didn't get and focus on the part that I got.

And again, it is not about the government or defending it. It is about the op
Ok. Now I get it. Your anger is not with the post or the message in it, but it is with the OP. You have something personal against him/her.

yes, they have their issues too,but they dont talk about it like this, infact they will defend it no matter what....
It is your not talking about the bad things in your country that has continued to embolden politicians to continue in giving you poor infrastructure. Silence in the face of bad governance is not patriotism.

PoliticsBuhari Appoints New FIRS Boss, Tunde Fowler Is Out by Esejojo(op): 4:21pm On Dec 09, 2019
President Muhammadu Buhari has declined to renew the appointment of Babatunde Fowler as the chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service(FIRS). Instead, he named a new person, Muhammad M. Nami, as Fowler’s successor.

Fowler’s tenure expired today 9 December, but a statement by the Presidency said he is expected to hand over to the most senior director on the board, who will take charge, pending the senate confirmation of the new board.

Muhammad M. Nami’s nomination was conveyed in a letter Buhari sent to the Senate, on the composition of a new board for the revenue agency..

The board is composed of a member representing each of the six geographical zones and statutory representatives from a select number of ministries and government agencies.

Mr Muhammad Nami, according to the statement by Aso Rock, is “a well-trained Tax, Accounting and Management professional with highly rated qualifications and professional practice and licenses from relevant professional bodies”.

He has almost three decades of practical working experience in Auditing, Tax Management and Advisory and Management services to clients in the banking, manufacturing, services and public sectors as well as non- profit organisations.

Nami attended Bayero University Kano and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology (1991) and a Masters of Business degree (2004) respectively. He is a fellow of Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Institute of Debt Recovery Practitioners of Nigeria and Associate Member of Nigerian Institute of Management (Chartered) and Association of National Accountants of Nigeria.

He started his career with PFK in 1993 and rose to the position of a senior Consultant in charge of Tax management and advisory services. He is currently the managing consultant of Manam Professional Services (Chartered Tax Practitioners and Business Advisers) based in Kaduna, Abuja, Niger State.

Mr Muhammad has served, and is still serving, on many companies’ Board and Statutory Board Audit Committees. He was appointed as a member, Presidential Committee on Audit of Recovered Stolen Assets in November, 2017 by President Buhari.

He is married and has children.

The non-reappointment of Fowler had been in the public sphere for several months, following a query from the President’s Chief of Staff, asking him to explain, why there were discrepancies in tax estimates and what was actually collected.

I am sure the inner-city roads in Dubai are like the roads in Lekki and Ikoyi.

If you go back to read what I wrote, you will see where I said that Oshiomole wanted to monopolise Federal Appointments due to the state while the governor was given free hand to select those who will work for his administration in the state.

Who is the oppressor? Oshiomole?
Where were you when Oshiomole brought up Obaseki from nothing politically?

When Oshiomole was holding Obaseki's hands to campaign around Edo state, Oshiomole wasn't the oppressor then?

When Oshiomole took Obaseki to meet Buhari in Abuja, Oshiomole wasn't the oppressor then?

When Oshiomole campaigned and lobbied for Obaseki to get the Apc ticket such that Oshiomole's core loyalists felt aggrieved, Oshiomole wasn't the aggressor then?

Or you think without Oshiomole, Obaseki would beat Ize Iyamu?.

My friend, your destiny is to ruin Obaseki and you guys are doing that just fine.
You guys are simply unbelievable.

When Oshiomhole was vigorously campaigning for Obaseki, do you think it was a selfless act, or he was doing it because he loved Edo State?

Oshiomhole needed a stooge to replace him to cover up the atrocities he commited when he as governor. Obaseki appeared like the ideal puppet that could be teleguided by a godfather.

This was the reason why more strongwilled and perhaps more qualified candidates such as Oshionmhole's deputy governor, Pius Odubu - was not considered by Oshionmhole.

Bro, Lagosians are struggling to get out of the straightjacket grip of a Supreme godfather, and you expect the Edos to enter into a similar bondage?

And simply because Oshiomhole picked and campaigned for Obaseki?

C'mon.

God doesn't vote, God doesn't campaign.

Obaseki would not be given APC ticket. He would lose and be beaten like a bastard. You people pushing him on aren't gonna vote for him, your job is only to ruin him.

Judas Iscariot should not cry then God is dealing with him.
I understand your point of view.

It is the point of view of Stockholm Syndrome sufferers. People who have fallen deeply in love with their oppressors.

They fight any attempt to liberate them from their oppressor.

In fact, it is the governor that is not interested in settling the issue! From what I heard, all Oshiomole is asking for is to be left to select people that will represent the state at National level while Obaseki get free hand in Edo. Oshiomole is willing to negotiate and reach compromise. The governor want to be free from his godfather! So the national Chairman of the Party should not have interest in people representing his state at national level?
You people should stop believing these lies.

Was it Obaseki that nominated the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire? Was it Obaseki that nominated the new Chairman of NDDC; Pius Odubu?

I can only believe your "truth" only if you are God that can determine the future.

Those of you fighting to dethrone Obaseki are just pained fans and supporters of Oshiomhole. Apparently, your love for Oshiomhole supersedes your love for the progress of the Edo nation.

Besides, are you not ashamed that you're supporting Oshiomhole that once campaigned against godfatherism, and now wants to establish himself as a godfather?

It is this kind of blind love and loyalty for a "godfather" that has kept Lagos in the horrific way it currently is.

You want Obaseki removed and the regime of the Kabaka re-installed? Is that how much you hate progress?

No one is exempted from blames (Government and the Electorate).

However, There is a Ministry and agency of government whose responsibility it is to clean the gutters. Billions of Naira of tax-payers monies are budgeted for that Ministry and Agency to function well. Furthermore, some people earn fat salaries to ensure that the drainages are not clogged.

Moreover, this is 2019. Why is the government still constructing open drainage systems?

PoliticsRe: Ambode 800 Buses Vs. Sanwo-Olu 800 Buses (PHOTOS) by Esejojo: 2:07am On Oct 25, 2019
9jaRealist:
DOUBT THE VERACITY OF THIS THREAD...

First, I believe that BSO was merely referring to the 800 buses already purchased by the Ambode administration (the number 800 is too much of a coincidence). There is no way that Tinubu’s errand boys at the State Assembly would be “probing” the Ambode administration for buying those 800 buses supposedly without specific appropriation while BSO would be simultaneously embarking on substantively the same course of action.

Furthermore, it is unlikely that BSO would “donate” these new buses to Primero for BRT services, given that Primero just raised N16.50 billion in a bond offering a couple of months ago (in June 2019) to purchase a fleet of 1200 new buses to (1) replace some of its existing fleet and (2) to operate its concession on the new Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT route, on which it emerged as winner of the public bidding and procurement process

I believe that BSO’s reference to expanding the BRT essentially refers to the new Oshodi-Abule Egba route for which the BRT Corridor was heading towards completion until the State Assembly cut off funding for the Ambode administration’s projects by refusing to pass the 2019 Budget until Ambode left office. The Oshodi-Abule Egba BRT Corridor will now likely be ready in Q1 2020 and doesn’t require buses today.

Finally, suffice it to note that these new high-capacity and environmentally-friendlier buses were purchased as part of a program to eventually replace the rickety and dare-devilish Danfo buses from all major bus routes in Lagos (towards which the LASG/LAMATA has been working with NURTW to train/retrain drivers and conductors). Unfortunately, it seems BSO’s remarks there were somehow lost in translation.

ACCORDINGLY, I DOUBT THAT BSO BOUGHT 800 NEW BUSES, AND DOUBT THAT ANY LASG BUSES WERE DONATED FOR BRT SERVICES!
>
1. Why would BSO donate buses that is subject to a probe?

2. Indeed, it is suspicious that that the number of buses in question is still 800. Could the governor be donating the same undisbursed Ambode buses to a private company, and with a false claim to have bought them.

3. The governor unambigously stated in the said twitter message that he bought and donated the buses for BRT. Does the governor not understand what BRT is, or who the operator is?

4. What is the current state of the Abulegba-Oshodi corridor to warrant the 800 buses?

5. Why would the Abulegba-Oshodi BRT corridor that have not commence operations be expanded?

6. BSO message was not lost in translation. It is as clear as crystal.
