The political imbroglio in Ogun State is assuming a rather unfortunate and diabolic dimension with the publishing of the nude picture of one of the G15 lawmakers in the State. Honourable Wale Alausa representing Ijebu Ode constituency was revealed nude at an unidentified shrine in Ijebu Igbo according to a report. The Compass newspaper was quoted to have said that the lawmaker and his other 14 colleagues took an oath to impeach the sitting governor at all cost. The impeachment plot according to the report is being sponsored by some politicians both from the state and from a neighboring state. However, the lawmaker who admitted that the published picture was actually his, countered that he was forced to take an oath by the incumbent governor, Governor Gbenga Daniel before he could secure the PDP ticket to the State House of Assembly. He said contrary to the Compass report, he was actually forced to take a loyalty oath inside Governor Daniel's Sagamu Mansion. Please read more here: http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3132:how-daniel-forced-me-to-take-oath-lawmaker-&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 Do note that Compass newspaper is rumored to be owned by Governor Gbenga Daniel and also that the dishonorable (My opinion) member actually belong to a faction of the house hell bent on impeaching the sitting governor. The reasons given ranges from financial impropriety to being politically high handed. From Okija now to Ijebu Igbo or is it OGD residential sagamu shrine, a pattern is now emerging in the nation’s political landscape. Seems like political appointment, selections and elections are conducted at the various shrines scattered all over the country! |
"why do we keep exporting crude oil for refining and now importing the finished product at a higher price?" |

Omar Bongo is Dead. Gabonese and perhaps Africa's longest serving leader passed on in Spain. BBC reported that the 73 year old died of heart attack. While constitutionally the country's senate president is empowered to run the government and conduct election within 45 days, there are already insinuations that the son of the deceased leader and currently the defence minister, Ali Ben Bongo is being positioned to take over as the President of the oil rich country. African Democracy again at work. First, the father ruled for over 40 years, and now the son being primed to take over!! http://www.saharareporters.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=2946:gabons-leader-is-confirmed-dead-bbc&catid=1:latest-news&Itemid=18 |
I read in the Vanguard of Thursday, 4th of June a statement credited to the respected Ijaw leader and First Republic Information Minister Chief Edwin Clark that the wanted High Chief Edwin Government Ekpomukpolo also known as Tompolo is a peace loving militant. To quote the respected chief , ",” …it is a known fact to the Federal Government, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the incumbent President Umaru Yar’ Adua that he is the most responsible and unwarlike militant leader (emphasis mine) in the Niger Delta”! The question is can a militant ever be described as peaceloving? Even the word "militant" connote violence. I feel there is a difference between genuine activism and militancy! Tompolo peaceful? Hello House, I have been watching the trend of most produced musical tracks lately, particulalrly the Hip Hop genre. The instrumentation and by this i mean, the piano works, strings, horns, guitar chops are always quite light and sometimes apparently non existent. Save for the drum kicks and hiat laced with konga which are given pride of place. I agree that the instrument should not overshadow the voicing on the track, but then, there is the place of the instruments too. I also noticed that to cover this particular shortcoming, todays producer tend to look for a simple piano line, using some funny tone all over the track as the song unique "signature". The argument here is that such unique tone sticks on the mind of the people, Gongo Aso, Lorile e.t.c readily comes to mind here! So the question is, does it mean that most producers favours light instrumentation today as the new trend particulaly in the Hip Hop genre with heavy drum kicks, or they are plain being lazy or simply working with the knowledge they have about musical production? |
