Lasaco Assurance Plc has recorded an important milestone by successfully raising ₦19.30 billion through a heavily oversubscribed Rights Issue. The capital injection comfortably places the company ahead of NAICOM’s impending industry-wide recapitalisation deadline.

₦19.30 Billion Secured: Lasaco floated 9.23 billion ordinary shares to existing investors. The offer achieved a 4.5% over-subscription, beating its initial target of ₦18.47 billion.

Regulatory Sanctions Cleared: The National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) completed its fund-source verification and passed a confirmation of admissibility to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), which has granted final approval.

Capital Base Expansion: The exercise aligns with the group’s overarching mandate to dramatically elevate its minimum share capital toward a ₦36.08 billion baseline.

81.5% Profit Surge: Lasaco generated a massive ₦2.36 billion Profit After Tax (PAT) for the first quarter ended 31 March 2026, climbing significantly from ₦1.30 billion in Q1 2025.

Operational Turnaround: This robust recovery effectively offsets a full-year 2025 pretax deficit of ₦2.6 billion caused by temporary underwriting and claims cost spikes.

Solvency Buffer: The firm's internal solvency margin expanded to 231%, comfortably clearing the legal regulatory baseline required for local underwriters.

Earnings per Share: EPS scaled up to 21.29 kobo for the quarter, compared to 11.73 kobo in the prior year's corresponding window.

Without marriage, or financial support from a man, most Nigerian ladies will end up as full time Prostitutes either in Nigeria, in another African country, or in an Arab country.

Poverty or Bad economy is never the reason why any lady goes into Prostitution .

Rather, it is:

Lack of Fear
Lack of Shame
Lack of Moral Discipline

Any lady around you that lacks these 3 things will surely do worse than you can imagine.

This is heartbreaking 💔

Thank you for sharing this. Stories like this show how human trafficking networks deceive vulnerable girls with "job offers" and then trap them.

What the video alleges:
- Recruitment method: Nigerian women luring other girls with promises of jobs/better life in Mali
- Reality on arrival: Taken to camps with black plastic tarps, forced into prostitution. "Madams" collect all the money
- Trapped: Even after "paying off" their debt, victims have no way to get home. The woman mentioned who is pregnant and mentally unstable is one example
- Plea: Direct appeal to the Nigerian government and authorities to rescue them

What’s being done / What can be done:

1. Report to authorities immediately
- NAPTIP Nigeria - National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons
Hotline: 0703-000-2031 | 627 | 627 | http://naptip.gov.ng
They work with embassies for rescue operations abroad.
- Nigerian Embassy in Bamako, Mali - They handle citizen rescue and repatriation
- ECOWAS + IOM - International Organization for Migration also does rescue/repatriation in West Africa

2. Why Mali keeps coming up
Traffickers use porous borders and the "free movement" within ECOWAS. Mali, Libya, and other routes are common because girls are told it's "just to go work in another African country" so it seems safer than Europe.

3. Red flags to warn others about
- "Job in Mali" with free travel, accommodation, no contract
- Someone pays your transport and says you’ll "pay them back later"
- Passport seized on arrival
- Isolated camps, not real houses

What you can do right now:
1. Share the video with NAPTIP and @PoliceNG on X/Instagram so they can trace location
2. Don’t share the faces of victims publicly, if possible - to protect them. Blur if you repost
3. Talk about it - Awareness stops the next girl from falling for "Mali job" scams

This is exactly why NAPTIP keeps warning: "If it’s too good to be true, verify it." No legitimate job will take your passport and trap you.

I’m so sorry these women are going through this. The fact that one is pregnant and mentally unstable makes it even more urgent.

Praying for their rescue. No one deserves this.

If I say what is really on my mind, Nairaland will block me again.

But apart from Prostitution, what exactly do Nigerian girls really do when they travel abroad to African and Arab countries?

Blessed is a man who has no female child at all.

RomanceRe: List The Biggest Mistakes Some Guys Make When Courting A Very Beautiful Lady by essentialone(op): 11:46pm On Jul 13
Philosopher1979:
You have to understand some things.
1. Basically as a human being you are special. God created you for a special purpose. Discovering that purpose makes you unique. You are unique the way you are. With unique ideas.
2. Beautiful women are human beings like you. Relax around them. Anyway to be brutal the only thing some ladies have to offer is sex and what does one gain from sex.
3. If you appreciate eand discover yourself. You will not think one beautiful girl is special. You are already special so why think someone else is special. Okay victor osimhen has discovered his talent. He can't therefore be intimidated by a woman's beauty. You are more special than ham these girls you admire. In fact, they should admire you. You don't need to have money to know you are special. Just discover your uniqueness.
4. Please get rid of low self esteem. This is what causes this simping. If you discover your uniqueness you don't have to simo for any man. Simping itself is idolatory. Placing a woman over yourself is idolatory. It's very horrible. Please realize you are unique and special l.
