Peakdesign23:I do not really agree. People who do not call you, have other people that they call. They are the ones they really care about. You are their Spare Tyre |
Solsix:Different strokes for different folks. If people call you only when there is an important issue, you are not their Friend. You are their 911. |
yarimo:Many people have hundreds of contacts stored in their phones, but how many of those contacts are truly meaningful relationships? It's easy to accumulate numbers, but having genuine connections with people is a different story. You're right; it's often in emergency situations that we realize who our true contacts are. When we need help, support, or a listening ear, we tend to reach out to those who have proven themselves to be reliable, trustworthy, and caring. Having numbers in our phones can give us a false sense of security, making us feel like we have a strong support network. But when push comes to shove, it's the quality of those relationships that truly matters. Your statement serves as a reminder to nurture our relationships, invest in people who matter, and prioritize building meaningful connections. By doing so, we'll be better equipped to handle life's challenges and emergencies, knowing that we have a strong support system in place. |
Sangoamadioha1:You're absolutely right; my previous post was based on a general perspective, but it's not a universal truth. Relationships and friendships can take many forms, and what works for one person may not work for another. Your example of having friends with whom you don't frequently communicate but still consider close is a great illustration of this. The depth and quality of a relationship can't be measured solely by the frequency of communication. Shared experiences, trust, and mutual support can create strong bonds that transcend time and distance. It's essential to recognize that people have different communication styles, personalities, and life circumstances, which can influence how they maintain relationships. What's important is that the connections we have with others are meaningful and nourishing to us, regardless of how often we interact. Thank you for sharing your perspective and reminding me that relationships are unique and diverse! |
Do not do that. It is childish. It shows you are a Coward, only able to woo ladies when they come into your comfort zone. If really you are a Landlord, be bold and explore outside even your City. |
Feldie:In most countries, including Nigeria, and many others, you cannot arrest or imprison someone solely for owing you money. Debt is a civil matter, not a criminal one. Here's why: 1. Debt is not a crime: Owing money is not a criminal offense. It's a contractual obligation between two parties. 2. Civil courts handle debt cases: If someone owes you money, you can take them to civil court to recover the debt. The court will determine the amount owed and the payment terms. 3. No imprisonment for debt: In most jurisdictions, you cannot be imprisoned for failing to pay a debt. This is a fundamental principle of modern law, dating back to the abolition of debtors' prisons in the 19th century. However, there are some exceptions and nuances: 1. Fraud or deception: If someone has committed fraud or deception to avoid paying a debt, they may face criminal charges. 2. Contempt of court: If someone fails to comply with a court order related to a debt, they may be held in contempt of court, which can result in fines or imprisonment. 3. Specific laws and regulations: Nigeria and some other countries and jurisdictions have specific laws or regulations that allow for imprisonment or arrest in certain debt-related cases, such as tax evasion or deliberate non-payment of child support. In summary, you cannot arrest or imprison someone solely for owing you money. If you're dealing with a debt issue, it's best to seek advice from a lawyer or a debt collection professional to explore your options for recovering the debt through civil means. |
Fear Women. If not, you too will some day learn a bitter lesson. |
Some will be like "I can't date someone who can go a day without calling or talking to me" omo is that so, do u even know what that person is going through or handling throughout that day, is it bad if u pick up ur phone and call that person... sometimes one just need some space and it doesn't mean one is not interested or committed but what do I even know self... 🚶♂️🚶♂️🚶♂️ |
Who Really Cares At some point in each person's life health issues will arise For some it is expected for others it will come as a total surprise Perhaps you heard about someone close being on the mend Just what will you do if that person was a very dear friend Of course sending a get well card or flowers is never enough if you truly care A personal phone call or a visit to express your concern about another’s welfare Think about those times when you needed someone in those difficult days How their physical presence made you feel better in so many different ways The best thing you can do is be supportive and able to just understand It could be your voice compassion or just holding another's hand The true test of friendship lies in being there during both the good times and the bad Sharing in their happiness and concerns being there when they are happy or sad They never ask for advice or opinions just that you be there Listen and letting them know you are there in their time of need and concern Remember you never know when it might be your turn Not everyone who hears about your situation will care about and ask what they can do While there are those that just call but your true friends will always be there for you A person who truly cares will always know what is in your heart The truth of the matter is true friends are never very far apart |
When tragedy strikes and you go quiet, the people who reach out are your true friends….i can count on two hands the people that showed up for me when i lost loads of money , battled serious depression or was fighting for my life sick from covid….see who picks the phone to call you on your darkest days. take note. They’re your real friends. invest in those relationships & quit almost all the others |
I will help anyone in need almost always, but if you're calling me to ask for something or asking for my assistance & we don't normally text or talk on the phone then sorry I can't help you... Don't call me & ask because I already know you would never return the favor .. learn who your true friends are & tell the others to get lost |
They're Not Your Friends.... Those thousands of voyeurs you have on social media; The people that appear to be friends all the time they get what they want from you; Using you as a stepping stone to climb the social ladder; They're not your friends; They will stick a knife in your back as soon as it suits them. Your friends are always there; Whether they agree with you or not; Even if being friends with you harms their 'social standing'; They support you in the hard times; Phone you when there's no reason; Send you jokes they know you'll find funny. Friends don't need reminding that they are friends; They are always just one call away; Their help is never conditional; Never an inconvenience; They always know it's mutual. Martial Arts students and peers become friends; They sweat together, Bleed together, Cry together, Laugh together, Forging memories from the fires of hell. A martial artist has 2 families; Both made in blood; Shallow people will never understand this; If you think everyone is a deceiver; Maybe you should look at yourself? There are diamonds on that beach of pebbles; What you give you shall receive; If you can stick to your guns; Follow the 'way' assiduously and with honesty; Others will recognize you soul to soul. And they will become your true friends. |
I've learn that through out the years friends have back stab me and some have left me when I needed them the most I learn not to trust no one or count or depend on anyone everyone with time have shown there true colors some are only there because they want or need something from you other just want to take what you have others just there to get info to take back to people that don't like you and friends or family that hang out with your enemies are not your friends or family because they back up other people to back stab you those are the worst of all and then they come and act like they care In your face 🖕 I don't have many but my true friends much love and u all know you could count on me anytime anyplace I'm a phone call away |
A memory from 2017 - still so true! Friends: There is an old saying that to have a friend you have to be a friend. There are other more comical sayings such as "A friend won't visit you on Sunday if you are in jail because a real friend will be sitting in the cell with you". A gentleman told me once that if you had 5 true friends - you were lucky. If you had 10, you were truly blessed. His definition of a true friend was someone that would come to you at the drop of a hat if you needed them, or would show up or call to check on you because you were on their heart for some reason and they had to know if you were OK . I can say that I have people like this in my life and I do feel truly blessed to know these folks. True friends don't care what have you have or don't have, they just care about you. I don't do as much for others as I should, but I think all of us get caught up if "Life" and don't make time for others like we should. Facebook is a great way to keep up with what is going on with others - who has a new baby, who lost a loved one, who had a birthday. But even though I look at all these just like all of you do, there is still something special to me about getting a visit or a phone call from someone and actually having a conversation, seeing a smile, and maybe even getting and giving someone a hug. |
True friends are known in times of need not only celebrations.. True friends are known in times of difficulties not only in times of happiness.. If you want to know how much value you owe to people..is this.. .......when you call one time or two time there shall be a call back or a responding message ..they value you.. ...when you send a message there shall be a respond...they value you.. A week can not end even sometimes a day without calling you, or texting you just to know how you are going on....how will you feel if you have such people around you kneel down and thank God... True friends they know your value, they will trust you, hold you as you hold them, they can even give money donations to pay school fees for your child, they can clear your debt rent arrears, they can encourage your soul while down casted , true friends in our family lives... Spiritual lives... Financial lives...and all In life we need true shoulders to lean on and when we are stable strong to stand on the ground we become shoulders to others to lean on like that... Many friends of today they will break you more instead of building you.. Unrepair you instead of repair you.. Stab you instead of helping heal your wounds and bruises... If your phone is having over three hundred numbers, five hundred from letter a to z but when in a trouble, difficulty, in need no one from number one to ten can respond to you... You don't have friends reduce your circle, pray ask God to bring connect to you real friends who can be more than to you, and you be more to them. In life we need real friends, not pretenders, not hypocrites, not backbiters, not betrayers. |
Phone goes two ways. If you are busy, I understand, but sometimes, if you want to make time for people, you would make time to call them, not just when you need something. I'm just telling the truth. That's all it is. You want to call people when you need them, but not to see how they're doing, once in a while. Help me make sense of that, and then you expect them to do things. Then you get upset, when they tell you No. I don't think that is a true friend. True friends are the ones who check up on you. Not just when you need things. Don't even bother calling or texting me if it's only for a favor, and it's not to see how I'm doing. I don't want to be someone's friend when it's only convenient to you, because you want to hang out. People just want to be friends for the benefits and use others. To loan money, they don't like to pay them back, or want free rides. I dislike these kinds of people who like to use others, and mooch off of others. 😒 |
My reasons are personal about this...maybe if people's heads weren't buried in the sand of ignorance and they took the time to understand, instead of judging and thinking it won't happen to them because they have the perfect family, life would be a little bit easier for people that do experience this! This hits close to home for me, for family and friends who live under this shadow. The days of 'it' not being talked about or being taboo should be over. In the most difficult moments of life you realize who your true friends are, and the people who really appreciate you. Unfortunately, most social media 'friends' aren't true friends. They will send you a "like" here and there, but in reality, they do not take time to read your status if they see it's lengthy. More than half will stop reading right here, or have already scrolled on to the next post on their page. I decided to post this message in support of all those who continue to battle with their mental illness. (Suicide is at an all-time high). Now, let's see who will have taken the time to read this lengthy post right through to the end. If you have read everything so far, please "like" it so that I can put a thank you on your page. More mental health awareness is urgently needed. Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean people aren't suffering. Please, try to spare a little of your time with someone who may just want to talk (about anything). Talking can help us all to cope a little more, keeping things bottled up just makes it worse. Most people will say, "if you need anything, don't hesitate to call me, I'll be there to help you" but will they? I believe a select few of my friends will post this, to show their support for those who may be struggling. You just have to copy and paste rather than sharing. I'd like to know who will take a minute out of their day to please write "done" in the comments. Thank you!☺️. And yes this is very important to me and my family. For those who do not copy and paste, I totally understand. No need to send me a note. Many hugs and love to those who have been here or are still learning to navigate each day ♥️♥️. In memory of many others gone too soon. Everyone needs someone, even if to sit quietly on the other side of a call, my phone is always on. Always. |
Those who call you on the phone are true friends, because they value the importance of effort and initiative, in maintaining relationships. In today's digital age, communication has become more convenient and accessible. However, it's easy to get caught up in social media and messaging apps, which can sometimes create a false sense of connection. A phone call requires more effort and intention than sending a quick message or liking a post. It shows that the person is willing to take the time to connect with you on a deeper level.

Here we go again. If you decide to date or marry any lady who is into any of these jobs, you are at greater risk of being involved with a willing or unwilling prostitute. Either you cope with it, or you kick her out of your life. Just stop complaining: 1. Actress 2. Bankers 3. Bar girl 4. Music video dancer 5. Cleaners 6. Corporate Secretary to MD 7. Female Industrial trainees 8. Marketers 9. Modelling 10. Nurse 11. Personal Assistant 12. Strippers 13. Tea girl 14. Waitress 15. Interior Decorator |

shonyboi:https://guardian.ng/business-services/lafarge-mrs-others-to-delist-from-ngx/ Following the delisting of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc from the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), there are speculations the trend may continue into the year as four listed firms are said to follow the same path. Other companies considering delisting include MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, Wapic Insurance Plc, International Energy Insurance Plc and Lafarge Africa Plc (WAPCO). The renewed wave of exit has continued to threaten the stability of the capital market, serving as a source of worry for regulators and policymakers. While Wapic Insurance and MRS announced the intention to delist last year, sources said Lafarge and International Energy Insurance may join the league. Lafarge’s parent company has concluded plans to exit the company by selling off its 83 per cent stake to a Chinese firm, Hauxin Cement, in a deal worth $1 billion. |

"Greenpole Account Number" What does the above mean? Who knows? |
DaddyCoool:Nothing is wrong with it. And Everything is wrong with it. It depends on how you have chosen to live your life. |
Redoil:And they have been delisted from the stock market. How can you resolve this now? |
emmanuelewumi:No, I do not have CSCS online. Also, I do not have the same Clearing House Number for both stockbroking accounts. Is it always better to maintain the same CHN even when you open a new stockbroking account? How does that work? |
shonyboi:Yes, I noticed it both pre and post construction of Transcorp shares. |
emmanuelewumi:I have 2. But I have sold all stocks in one stockbroker, then cashed out the money, and used it to buy shares in the other stockbroker. I deliberately did not do a Transfer from one house to the other. |

. For Banks he loves his Zenith and GTB and has decided to increase his stake in UBA based on their last dividends. I follow him but we do not necessarily agree on everything . I love Access due to its low entry point but he doesn't.
(Although I have a few units in it for JIJO which I learnt from you guys)
