Business › Re: Top 5 Platforms To Pay Your NEPA Bill Online In Nigeria In 2025 by essentialone1: 5:10pm On Jul 30, 2025 |
WarHammer2000: Imagine the trouble involved in dragging yourself to the NEPA office to pay your electricity bill every month. Long queues, endless waiting, and pure frustration. A few months back, I procrastinated on paying my NEPA bill, headed to work, and came home to a dark house. Yup, my power was cut off! I was fuming.
But now? I’ve kissed that stress goodbye and switched to paying my bills online, right from my couch. It’s a total game-changer! There are lots of platforms that make settling NEPA bills or recharging prepaid meters a breeze. Here are five I’ve found. I'll start with the one I've used myself.
Best Platforms to Pay Your NEPA Bill Online in Nigeria in 2025
Cardtonic
I’ve used Cardtonic a few times to pay my NEPA bills, and it’s worked fine for me. Most people know Cardtonic for trading gift cards, but it also lets you pay utility bills like electricity. The platform is simple to use, and I feel okay about its security after some bad experiences with other online payments. One night, my power went out, and I used Cardtonic to buy units.
It took just a few minutes to get my electricity back, which was a relief. It works with most DisCos in Nigeria for both prepaid meter top-ups and postpaid bills. Cardtonic has different payment options, like using gift cards, bank transfers, or their digital wallet, which is handy if your account is low.
The fees aren’t too high, and their customer support has been alright when I reached out with a question. They offer cashback benefits too. Sometimes the app feels a bit slow, but it gets the job done. It’s just one option I’ve tried that’s been okay so far.
PowerPlug
PowerPlug is another good platform. It’s an app that supports all DisCos in Nigeria, so you can use it for prepaid top-ups or postpaid payments. The app is easy to figure out, and you get your token quickly after paying. I haven’t used it much, but I’ve heard from friends that it’s reliable. It’s a solid pick if you want something simple.
BuyPower
BuyPower is well-liked for good reason. I find their unit calculator useful. It lets you enter your meter number, pay, and get a token right away. They even let you borrow electricity units if you’re stuck, which is neat.
It works for both prepaid and postpaid accounts, and the platform is straightforward. Some people mention that the borrowing feature can have high fees, so you might want to double-check that.
Quickteller
Quickteller is a trusted name for paying NEPA bills. You can use their website or app, and it works with most DisCos. Whether you’re on a prepaid or postpaid account, you get your token instantly after payment.
I like that Quickteller also handles things like airtime purchases, making it a handy all-in-one option. It’s been around for years, so it’s a safe choice for most.
VTpass
VTpass is worth a look too. Their app or website lets you pay electricity bills or recharge prepaid meters for different DisCos. It’s dependable for quick payments, and they offer extras like data top-ups. I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve seen positive reviews online, and it seems like a good option for fast transactions.
Conclusion
You don’t have to deal with long lines or power cuts from unpaid bills anymore. Platforms like Cardtonic, PowerPlug, BuyPower, Quickteller, and VTpass make paying your NEPA bill or recharging your meter super easy from home. I’ve found Cardtonic okay for its convenience and quick transactions, but the others are worth checking out too.
If you’re still stuck in the old days of visiting the NEPA office, it’s time to switch to online payments. Try one of these platforms and find what works for you. Have you gone digital with your bill payments? What platform do you use? Please do share your thoughts! Avoid quickteller completely. They are Scammers and Fraudsters |

toyeoye: For now, we’ve temporarily removed the Market Cap and Bid/Offer Quantity columns to avoid displaying inaccurate or delayed figures during live trading.
They’ll be restored once NGX confirms a reliable real-time feed. ✅ Please if you want to replace them, send them to the very end of the columns. Also, if the website is built on Excel format, freeze beside the column of companies names and the headings of the columns, so that even when you scroll to the side, they do not disappear. |

toyeoye: @essentialone1 Thanks for pointing this out. The market cap column currently only updates after trading hours that’s how NGX designed it for now... I’ve raised the issue with their team, and they’re in talks with their devs to see if real-time updates can be enabled during trading. Fingers crossed they sort it soon… NGX dey fall my hand sometimes. Appreciate your usual feedback as always, thank you! I meant removing it completely. Or send them to the end column. The platform is now too busy. Also send the bids and offers column to the end column. Please. |
