Please I need your candid opinions as to working in a bank. I recently work in a Nigerian Commercial Bank as an outsourced staff. Just recently, the bank plans to make me a permanent staff and at the same time I have reason to believe of an offer from elsewhere (not a bank). The other place pays much much less than that of a permanent staff of the bank and I am caught in a web of which to choose. I have an extended family that I am responsible for and the huge pay would help a lot. What is your advise Islamically?

I'm also waiting on the next step after the Competency Test.

We were 50 that's were invited that I know of.

We had 100 questions in all and 1hr 50mins alloted time.

The test was just a GMAT thing and some stuff about cement and its history.

I don't have any previous banking experience. And my induction was in Abuja. I'm to resume on monday at Union Bank (like I've always said in here), in Bauchi.

We'll be given some practical coaching at the bank at the early stages and then we can pick up from there. Amongst us, there are some who have previous banking experience and they were really helpful to us (freshers) during the 3-days period.

We're here as always. The training went well and it has concluded. Resumption is on monday (10th of Dec).

I received a text message this morning on the training venue for Abuja. Its at Gracious Hotel, Plot 29 Okemesi crescent Off Mohammed Buhari way, by Old CBN, Garki, Abuja. From 4th to 6th Dec.

For those speculation for which bank it is, its Union Bank. They haven't said it yet, but all facts on ground points to Union Bank.

Got my offer letter yesterday. Induction is from 4th - 6th of December. But I was posted down to Michika in Adamawa State

MTN needs to wake up with this service in Abuja, I have used the service for three months in my office at the highest plan of 2mbps but have been fustrated with the sub standard Hynet WIMAX modems being distributed by MTN that decides to hang and loose connectivity on their own, my hand already aches from having to unplug and plug the device to regain connection about 10 times a day, that is not professional.

everytime I email MTN all i get is a reference number and "you will be contacted once the issue is resolved" which obviously never gets resolve. Please my cooperate brothers and IT Administrators, beware of introducing this service to your offices because you will be disappointed.

Well, first of all, I apologize on behalf of MTN. I would like to know the area in Abuja where u are using Hynet. That would enable us look into your case. It could be that the base station in your area need optimization. And pls, if u know anybody in your area that is using hynet, check on them to see if they are experiencing same problem.

One thing u guys don't understand is: the kpbs or mbps u see is not kilobytes or megabytes per seconds o. Its kilobits and megabits per seconds (bits, not bytes).
So, don't expect to see urself downloading at 512kbps coz u paid for 512kbps. And remember, the general browsing stuff comprises of both upload and download which shares whatever bits u have initially. So for u to get kilobytes or megabytes per second, be ready to spend (A LOT).

Why not upgrade your subscription to 1mbps or 2mbps?
