FamilyRe: I Am 20 And My Mom Wants To Throw Me Out. by esti98: 10:56am On May 17, 2020
Greetings one and all. I'll try to make my lamentation as short as possible.

My mother accused me of stealing her 2k, but I assure you, I didn't. The money got missing on Thursday night according to her and my 13 year old brother. I won't do such a thing, because the times are hard and the pandemic is fueling this hard times. I'm not lazy, I kind of work from home, I write for opera news hub and to some extent I get money from there, currently I have 19k in my account. I have no motive of taking her money, but she insists I took it, and is currently threatening to throw me out of the house.

This is not the first time such thing has happened. When I was still in secondary school, money got missing often and she'll blame me, beat me and starve me for stealing her money, but God helped me and the culprit was found, my other brother was caught, he is 18 now and doesn't stay with us anymore. He stays with my dad. She never apologized for what she did and the scars of that emotional and physical abuse still ripples across my body. But this time I'm not sure I will forgive her if the money is found. I'm planning on leaving home and starting my life somewhere, it's hard, it might just be my naivety speaking, but I need your advice.

The only skill I have is writing and web designing, which I'm almost getting good at. I just need help and guidance. I'm a 200level student and I major in psychology. I'll be 21 by November. [/quotes

What is the world turning into. First of all, you did not even appreciate all your mother went through to bring you up to this age. Your father left her alone to be taken care of you, probably without any support both financial and moral from him.
Instead of you to think of how to face your study, graduate and improve on the skill that you got to be able to take good care of that woman and stand up on your feet to be somebody in life, you are here writing nonsense about your mother that nurture you to this stage.

What an ingrate, may be you will also leave your wife at any slight argument like your father did to your mother.

You better pray so that history will not repeat itself.

You think it is easy out there.

RomanceRe: The Only Thing You Should Do For A Man Is Pray For Him Don't Help Anyone by esti98: 4:00pm On Apr 12, 2020
A man is designed to woo a woman by proving to her that he is capable of taking care of her emotional, financial, spiritual and other needs. If a man is being taken care of by a woman, she somehow emansculate s him. She is indirectly telling him that he is not man enough for her needs. A man needs to make his own money to feel good about himself. If he isn't earning any money, no matter how much you give him, he will still feel bad with himself. After a while, he may begin the resent you and see you as bossy, pushy and overbearing.

I learnt this in a hard way, from experience.
EducationRe: Lagos Pegs Entry Age Into JSS1 At 12 Years by esti98: 11:14am On Apr 07, 2020
yers6:
I swear!!!!!!!! This is the best policy in education sector in recent years. Was still discussing this very crucial issue with woman days ago!!!!

Imagine a scenario whereby some new generation 'sophisticated' parents wants their wards in JSS 1 at the age of 7, 8, 9 or 10 and by the time the kid is 16 or 17, would already be done with university! And then by 19 would be done with nysc and then start working. And for those in majority, may not get a good job at that stage and so, life problems start hitting them with so much frustration which they were not fully prepared or grounded to face and then they resort to drugs, prostitution and other dangerous vices just to keep face or survive!

And there is where the challenge starts. Because they are still teenagers with the enormous mantle of grown adult's headaches, they become so directionless in life especially because most Nigerian men don't intend to settle down maritally or even take life very serious till they are 30 years and above. FACT!

Come to clubs on the island and you would weep for the new generations our so called enlightened and cosmopolitan parents are now raising. You would see young girls of 15, 16 from mostly Christian and Religious higher institutions of learning like Covenant, Babcock (the Babcock lady giving head last year in the viral video comes to mind here), Redeemers, Mountain Top, Caleb, Unilag, Leads, Alkhima, Afe Babalola, etc, flooding some of the most exquisite, expensive and classy night clubs on the island, in Owerri, Benin, PH, Abuja every and every weekend!

Or why do you think new exquisite clubs are opening up every other day in Lagos and those cities mentioned? High rate of slay queens everywhere? Or astronomical numbers of mamalawos on IG? Or the fact that weed, codeine, and other 'get high' drugs are recording the craziest sales ever? Its beyond just the fact there are big boys ready to spend but simply because the young and willing underage girls from the higher institutions of learning abounds massively like the sands in the ocean. You see young girls at age 17, 18, 19 among them already having flapping and seriously sagged breasts**.

And you begin to wonder if they are not young girls from so called prestigious and religious universities where security was very tight, where morals were preached and impacted on all fronts, where their parents spend fortunes on them to be in so called best schools?

If you were one brought up in a strict home and responsible background and happen to see things as they are in those cities mentioned, you would weep bitterly.

Don't get get this submission wrong as this is not to generalise that all underaged kids in universities are bad or irresponsible. Far from it. Still a lot are well raised and doing remarkably well even after graduation. Because age at times doesn't translated to maturity. But the danger lies in having kids who are not raised well to fully absorb the crude shocks of life in the majority!

How can you explain so many 16 years olds in 400 level in universities but are already deeply enmeshed in drug abuse? Or the girls that have committed several abortions that they have lost counts? Or those who have been to 100's of exquisite clubs in and out of the country at age 16/17? Thats why you see so many childish comments on social media posts and forum especially on Nairaland in recent years and you begin to wonder, who are these so called young adults with terribly childish mentality? How can you then explain the highest numbers of young boys and girls committing suicides in recent years when we all know Nigerian rarely commit suicide? By time the damage has been seriously done on those boys and girls, you now see their mother's en masse in churches and other religious gatherings seriously praying and fasting for God to touch the soul of those already destroyed children.

We play and pray too much in this country!

autotrader014:
This is really unfortunate. I have said it before and will say it again. Suicide will multiply in Nigeria. Not because times are hard. Times were HARD way back before now. The problem now is that adults are increasingly immature and the society is increasingly frivolous.

People have no true friends, because friends now see themselves as rivals, back stabbers/biters now masquerade as friends. Problem shared now becomes public information.

There's a rat race going on and it's measured by fleeting wealth and nothing else true and lasting. Setbacks are mourned as a wasted life by those who should give love and genuine support. Men who rose through their friend’s magnanimity are now digging graves for such friends. So troubled man becomes a butt of jokes by those in whom he reposited his trust.

Calamities befall men and their friends shed tears in the morning and run them down at night. Adults now behave like children.
The man can’t even tell his wife because he is sure she won’t understand. He has seen her divulge little details to her family. He has heard her eulogize wealth and curse set backs as abomination. She has a little merry heart. Men now gossip like women.

The cleric can’t be trusted because he is given to flamboyant cars and lots of worldly ambition. He rates men by their earthly successes and wealth. He can’t be trusted because wealth he says, is the ultimate blessing from God. Everyday he celebrates only the rich.

So the troubled man walks around with his troubles in his heart, smiles at all the children masquerading as adults around him. One day, he would weigh it all over again and say no, it’s enough.
True and matured friends are now very scarce! No true ears to talk to in times of trouble, no honest shoulder to lay on in times of weakness.
And a culmination of all these is why depression-induced suicide is on a sad rise.

Can we all rise and fight this menace called depression in truth?
Can you work and encourage others to assume the role(s) of true friend(s)?
Can we jointly reinstate the intergrity of the quote “Problem shared is half solved”?
Be your brothers keeper
This is a very rich comment, I dove my hat for you bro.
Like you rightly said, that adults are increasingly immature, parents are causing serious problems that they might not able to control, you take an eight year old child to secondary school, you assisted them get WAEC results , assisted them gained admission to the University, lobbied for them for employment opportunities. By the time they experienced any little failure or setback. They think they can't move on rather to commit suicide. Please beware, let our children metamorphosis to reality of life.
In the olden days our parents do chores manually, yet they live longer, but now everything is automatic, yet short life span. May God help us.

Madam, did you give your child all the immunisation she is suppose to take. If yes, do not disturb yourself, since she can stand by holding something, she will walk. I will advise that you carry her less, and if possible ensure she is always in a where there are many kids, she will on her own want to play along with others.
FamilyRe: Trust: The Fuel That Keeps A Marriage Running by esti98: 7:34am On Apr 22, 2019
'Trust' that's the word that can keep marriage or love growing. But it should come from both parties, if one of the lover trust but discover that the partner who claim to trust had been lying all the this while. This kills relationship instantly, Its only God that can help human being.
FamilyRe: How Can House Wife Win Her Husband Back From The Other Woman ? by esti98: 2:43pm On Jan 20, 2019
My sister, that is how men behave when they started going astray,
all you need do is pray to God, and talk to him. If he refuse to change , take good care of yourself to look good, dress well ,love your heart, and love yourself,
If he see that you are looking good and happy at all time, he might change.
Just an advise.
FamilyRe: Thanks by esti98: 6:08pm On Jan 18, 2019
Don't be depressed, pray to God, don't just sit at home, speak to school authority to give you some time, submit unsolicited applications, speak to family and friends. Start small business , no matter how small, you can even teach for a short period b4 you get ur dream job. God will see you through.
RomanceLadies Please Learn Life Lesson From This by esti98(op): 9:27am On Jan 12, 2019
Good day all, this is true life story. There is this man who impregnated his innocent and virgin gf, one day a lady came in to inform d gf that she is also pregnant for the man, when this man came back, the gf informed him and he did not denied but started begging that it was a mistake that he is not going to marry the side chic, that the side chic was aware of their relationship, that was why she got pregnant for him. To cut the story short, he pleaded wt the gf, with the support of his church pastor and his relatives the gf accepted. The two of them delivered safely. But the man told gf that he is not going to maary the side chic. He eventually married the gf, but after eight years of marriage the wife discovered that her husband had rented an apartment for the then side chic as his second wife, she had even had three children , unknown to this innocent wife, this man will always tell the wife that he is travelling to work in another state but will be with his second wife in an apartment not too far from where they live.
Ladies if you are dating someone, and he impregnate another lady. Pls run for your dear life.
This man had abandoned the wife for a long time without been responsible to his children . this lady is seeking for divorce now....

Or what do you think she should do. Pls advice

CareerRe: 16 Years Banking Experience As A Contract Staff (Age Barrier) by esti98: 10:14am On May 15, 2017
for those who are looking for job, take up contract job if you see, in my time it was not easy to come by, because you must have upper credit and you will write exam which you must pass before you can even be called for oral interview, I don't know how they do it now. You have so many opportunities, you get to meet with people who can help you if you have good moral and you are not fraud minded, you can even save money to start some business of your own later. thanks
CareerRe: 16 Years Banking Experience As A Contract Staff (Age Barrier) by esti98:
I want to shed more light on the OND contract job, I was once a contract staff in one of the bank in Nigeria, but at inception I was sent for induction training in their training school, it was there I was made to know that OND contract job was established then by the bank to help those who have OND but unable to sponsor themselves further for their degree to work for some time and save money to be able to train themselves further, because if you look at the appointment letter, the job is meant for one year renewable if you conduct yourself well, but we all forgot too soon to stop after we have started enjoying regular monthly salary. it is not the fault of the bank but the contract staff who thought he/she have landed a job and relied on the contract job as permanent. I had this at the back of my mind immediately I came back from the induction training and planned to work for just four years.
my advice is that, if you can get the contract job, do it and don't ever think you have gotten a job, use it as a stepping stone to your endeavor in life.
