Hello Estien,

Firstly, I wld say where he resides and his age is not a sensitive factor.

Secondly, to come up with a strong argument when using ur friend as a
Thanks for your reply.

I believe age and location shouldn't be a problem but my concern is providing evidence Of or relationship. We haven't taken any pictures together before. Can written words be a tangible evidence of relationship or perhaps a sworn affidavit... I am just clueless about this.

Thanks again

Good morning house, please kindly advice me:
Can I use a friend (he lives in the US) as sponsor who is just 2 years older than I am? In this case, how do I show prof of relationship with my sponsor friend?

what happens if it's too late for the embassy to issue TRv. lets say I apply now for January admission and there is September term for the sesecond semester.

kclexa:
Pls go ahead with your application because you have nothing to lose with a try. I always advice people to be bold and take chances.
So don't say it is not possible when you haven't tried. The worst thing that can happen, is that you will be required to defer your admission.
Good luck

MrArams:
Let's start with this few questions

1. What is the relationship between you and your sponsor (Parent, uncle, aunt....)
2. What he/she does for a living
2. What level of program are you going for and program name(UG, PG, diploma.....)
3. Which year did you finish your last program
4. Are you working; If yes for how long and does it correlate with your academic background?

All this long story is just to make you understand that your visa application is not going to be considered for all the start dates on your offer letter so if the timing goes off for the winter application, I doubt (but I'm not totally sure) that your application will be automatically considered for the fall semester.
Really hope you get my point cos this took me some time to draft, lol.
All the best
Thank you so much for the explanation. I had a clue and now am more enlightened about this. I hope applying now wont be risky afterall?

I thought so. I am still shell-shocked about how effective advise gotten here can be.. hands on!!

so where do I go from here? Please guide me..

Joe980:
@Estien, people here are the best immigration officers you could ever get. Keep your money cool
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Estien: 11:12pm On Nov 07, 2014
Thanks for the advice. I guess I dont have luxury of choice.. I might just tuck my head in.. I actually feel lucky.

redribs:
Depends on how lucky you're feeling about it. Noone can really say... If you submit online tonight or first thing tomorrow and they don't come thru with the TRV approval in 8 wks; b4 the start of the school semester (which is averagely enough time to process online submissions these days), you really can't put it against them. Why? Because they already gave a disclaimer on their website saying that it takes 19 weeks on average to process study permit apps from naija.

So, how lucky do you feel about pulling it off in 5 weeks? It's up to you. In my opinion, I think it's "risky" late.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Estien: 11:07pm On Nov 07, 2014
Bro, it has Winter and fall.
I have a friend who promised to help with the process, he knows of an Immigration Lawyer right there in Canada. Please just tell me if i can do this without having to pay someone hundreds of thousand. Thanks

Joe980:
@Estien, check your admission letter if it has Winter, Summer and Fall for resumption of classes. That is multiple start dates.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Estien: 11:04pm On Nov 07, 2014
Thanks. I am feeling the love already! Where do I go from here? I have my Admission (hard copy) and my sponsor is ready.

Its amazing how effective these threads can be and how effortless/selfless the experienced posters are.. I am a prospective student of University of Guelph ON. I wanna know if I can go ahead with my visa application at this time for a January term... having in mind processes takes an average of 3 month but I have actually read on previous post of very few people pulling it of in 4 to 5 weeks. please advice. Thanks
