Travel / Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by Ethan45(m): 8:51am On Jul 19, 2020
famzynet:
Hello ,

For someone coming to the UK for a new job and with a tight budget, what would be the best type of accommodation to sort for until the pounds start coming in? State is Essex.
Do banks give loans or credit to people who may need them at the start? What bank is beneficial to new comers in terms of starting up? The prices of accommodation on Airbnb is just too high. Are there any possible cheaper options of accommodation till salary starts coming assuming one is not coming with family?

Can someone pls help answer these questions?

Are you sister's kids residing in the US?

No they are not. Apparently her kids are with her in Nigeria but she's scared cos there's been speculations that if you collect Social sec benefits when you are not a citizen nd don't pay tax, it could back fire when your kids turn 18 and intend filing for you to come over.

More so, she's furious cos someone is collecting it without her consent.

Greetings Everyone,

Please I have a question.

My Sister gave birth to twins in the Us 3 years ago, Vegas precisely and then a friend of hers brought up an issue about her kids social security benefits. So ever since she has been fuming about the idea that my Aunt who housed her while in the Us(a Us citizen) is taking custody of the money or benefits or whatever they give them of which she has no idea of.

So my questions are:
1. Are there any such things as benefits for a mother who gave birth in the Us with Social security number?
2. Can she claim it for them while she is still in Nigeria.
3. Her kids aren't disabled and what are the possible implications of someone claiming it for her with or without her knowledge.

Please gurus, your response will be incredibly appreciated. Una claim anything?

Goodmorning Fam,
Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there. Please I'd like to ask a question? Is K1 visa a non immigrant or no? I've being led to understand it's a non immigrant visa but while scheduling an appointment on the site, in the non immigrant icon once its ticked there is no icon to tick the k1 visa except B1,F,J and some others but in the immigrant icon there you will find the K1 visa icon. So it's really conflicting. What do I do now as am having a hard time scheduling appointment. Am aware this is not the thread for that but can someone pls give me an answer on this? Please. Thanks guys..

I didn't state that I have a first degree in my CIC app to avoid story that touch.

Ive been led to understand that this visa thingy is not about hw fat ur account balance is, its about hw u package ur application nd the grace that you carry. Seriously.

The day I applied for the visa, the processing time was 10 weeks, it's now 15 weeks, probably they think it's easy to move to another country within 1 week and settle down. I literally paused my life for months but I canceled my Canadian visa application and requested a refund a week ago. I got my U.S. visa approved on Monday.

Good luck everyone.

Please how did you cancel your Canadian visa application nd hw did you also apply for the refund. Seriously these people are getting on my last nerve. I cant stomach the fact that i would wait for 15 whole weeks again for this people to reply me when am not certain about there response. Abeg life is too short, i neva born pikin neither am i married, so becos i want to pursue a proffesional degree abroad thats why these people are toying with my youth. Am not getting any younger, its high time i gas to step up my game. Haba its very painful. When we apply for visa, they shud tell us yes or no let us continue with our life nd not wait for all eternity when a male bull will begin to lactate. U.s is better after your app you book your appointment nd know your faith that very minute, but canny cry cry lawd hv mercy.
I can see vfs is asking for another stomping by naija applicants this year nd this time Am telling you. angry angry angry

Fellow pgd/pgc applicants let us do ourselves a favourd to PGD/PGC I would be glad and thankful if you can call the visa officers in Ghana to order to treat all applications fairly. thank you sir, help us live the Canadian dream the Candian way.

I love this. Though am not a pgc/pgd applicant, am going to create another email address now and send them a mail as you 've stated. I wish you guys luck. And @ michv, calm down i know how it feels, my app is just 2 weeks old and it looks to me like its 2 months already. Always confess positive about ur app nd leave everytin to God in prayers. Yes oo. 48k transit fee so long as ur flight transits tru any state in the U.S. Why dont u try another itinerary route that dosent require u flying tru U.S cos the transit visa is not 100% certain.
